yea but im a michigan fan, and stubborn so ill do my best to get the last word haha... you are neutral so... im hopin you'll give up

just compare their performance against their equal opponent...the score was similar with both of them vs notre dame...but michigan clearly dominated[Edited on November 27, 2006 at 4:31 PM. Reason : .]

they played each other, the better team won (it wasn't even as close as the score may suggest). If Florida makes through the SEC championship game, they should play for the title, if not, USC (as much as I loathe them)To be quite honest, I think Michigan is better than both, but you should be a conference champ to play in the championship game. Plus it doesn't matter who OSU plays, they're winning.
11/27/2006 4:34:57 PM
I forgot to add...If Michigan wins against our bball team tonight USC obviously deserves to play in the NC instead of Michigan. It's pure logic, you can't argue with logic.
11/27/2006 4:35:46 PM
You guys who think Michigan should be playing in the NC have got to be fucking kidding me. Michigan did not even win their conference. Their non-conference schedule consisted of Ball State (record: 5-7) (score: 34-26), Vanderbilt (record: 4-8) (score: 27-7), Central Michigan (record: 8-4) (score: 41-17), and at Notre Dame (record: 10-2) (score: 47-21). Notre Dame is the only team that is or even has been ranked out of those. USC’s non-conference schedule on the other hand was at Arkansas (record: 10-2) (score: 50-14), Nebraska (record: 9-3) (score: 28-10), and Notre Dame (record: 10-2) (score: 44-24). At the time they played Arkansas was not ranked but is now ranked 9th in the BCS. Nebraska was 19th at the time they played and currently ranked 20th by the BCS. And Notre Dame was ranked 6th when they played and now ranked 10th by the BCS. Also, please note that both Nebraska and Arkansas both still have a chance to win their respective conferences. Which takes us to conference schedules. The only team that Michigan played in conference that was ranked at the time that they played was #1 Ohio State, which they lost. At seasons end, only Wisconsin has been added to the Top 25 coming in at #7 in the BCS. As for USC, well when they played Cal they were ranked #17 and are currently 21st in the BCS. When SC played Oregon they were ranked 21st but are now unranked in the BCS. However, surprise, surprise… Our good friends over at Oregon State who beat USC at Corvallis by a whole 2 points, is currently ranked 24th in the BCS. USC’s schedule is hands down harder. If Arkansas wins the SEC and Nebraska wins the Big XII, I don’t see how there could be any doubt that USC is more deserving of a shot at Ohio State than a Michigan rematch. Besides, what happens if Michigan wins this time by some really close margin? Who really wants a split NC?

every team plays for easy wins - its not Michigan's fault for WHEN they kicked Notre Dame's ass, or what non conference teams they played. And it doesn't also matter that only 1 team from a conference can go to the NC - simply put the two best teams should....and everyone is playing USC's unranked loss off as no big deal.......when we are talking about National Championship games its a HUGE deal - if michigan lost to....western michigan id say screw that they don't deserve it, no matter how well they do later in the seasonUSC's only loss against an unranked team, and Michigan's only loss to the #1 team in the nation is a HUGE difference.in all - we need playoffs
11/27/2006 6:17:43 PM
^Your post is so bad in so many ways. Western Michigan and Oregon State on the same level? This is Ocho Cinco's Oregon State. They are 24th in the BCS and finished 8-4 in a CONFERENCE BETTER THAN THE BIG TEN. And yes it is UofM's fault for play Balls State and Directional Michigan.
11/28/2006 3:09:23 AM
Well in that case South Carolina should be up for a big bowl. Who cares who beats you, its all about strength of schedule.
11/28/2006 8:05:10 AM
just be happy with the rose bowl you should have won on the 17th and we wouldnt have to hear all this crying
11/28/2006 10:38:47 AM
IM ALL FOR USC GOING AS LONG AS THEY FUCK UP AND LOSE LIKE LAST TIME
11/28/2006 10:42:26 AM
just throwing this out there. it is possible that the two best teams in the country are in the same conference. if michigan had beaten osu, then everyone would be in complete agreement that the NC should be osu/michigan, regardless that it's a rematch. what's the difference? except that everyone is convinced that osu is god. (i'm not a michigan fan at all, for the record)
11/28/2006 10:56:14 AM
^That could only be true if it were the SEC, you know the best conference in the history of football
11/28/2006 10:59:12 AM
11/28/2006 10:59:58 AM
wisconsin will beat the 2nd place SEC team in a bowl, mich. will beat florida, then everyone will be punk'd
11/28/2006 11:01:56 AM
^^ while i appreciate it, you'd be alone in that opinion, for the most part. especially when it comes to the press. osu was playing in the NC, either as #1 or #2 since week 5.[Edited on November 28, 2006 at 11:02 AM. Reason : ^]

I don't have time right now but I'll post links to the many articles that agreed with my take before the game was played after my meetings this afternoon or tomorrow. To me the logic is simple. How could you claim you deserve a rematch on a neutral field [if there are other 1 loss teams out there with similar resumes] with a team when you couldn't even beat them in your home stadium? Michigan at least could claim they should be able to play on a neutral field, though as I've said many times, I disagree with.[Edited on November 28, 2006 at 11:07 AM. Reason : grammar]
11/28/2006 11:07:14 AM
SEC IS A LOT BETTER AND A LOT DEEPER THAN BIG TENTHE BIG TEN HAS 2 GOOD TEAMS wisconsin will get ran off the field in the capital one bowl
11/28/2006 11:10:45 AM
haha like the powerhouse auburn last year?
11/28/2006 11:11:27 AM
I'll concede that USC's schedule was more impressive than Big Blue's, but they did not exhbit season-long, consistent excellence like UoM did.A few days ago I pulled for the Irish for the first (and hopefully last) time in my life. This week I'm pulling vehemently against USC, a team I've really liked the past few years. This faint rematch possibility is seriously screwing with my world....and the SEC is better than the Big Ten (this year), but it's still very overrated. Southerners tend to think they know real football. Illusions. Yeah, I said it. Come and get me.[Edited on November 28, 2006 at 2:22 PM. Reason : ]

11/28/2006 2:25:36 PM
Hell no. Michigan vs. NC State = go State.Actually, I'm in the pep band, but I still wouldn't wear opposing colors.

11/28/2006 3:09:39 PM
how bout we just vote UF. they played plenty of high ranked opponents like USC, but only lost to somebody who was actually worth a damn, like UM. IT IS THE COMMON GROUND FOR ALL OF YOU TO AGREE ON.
11/28/2006 3:25:38 PM
Michigan did indeed have their shot. I think the score of the game is exceptionally misleading considering OSU lost two fumbles due to bad snaps. OSU in my opinion dominated most of the game and almost let it slip away due to some bad mistakes. The biggest factor to me is that you shouldn't have to beat a team TWICE to win the NC. I don't care how you draw it up, that just blows. If there were no other reasonable candidates to take the #2 spot, then yeah send Michigan back in there b/c they deserve it...However, USC played the ~4th toughest schedule in the nation. Since losing to an underrated Oregon State team they've played excellent football. They also have a legitimate claim to a spot in the NC. Also, I don't buy the home field argument. It's a rivalry game. These teams come into each other's houses every year. If you can't get fired up for a rivalry and play your best game then you don't deserve to play for the NC. The simple fact everyone seems to be ignoring is that OSU played better than Michigan. They shouldn't have to prove it twice.
11/28/2006 3:34:23 PM
well it is gay that UF has only a remote chance of getting into the NC when they have the #1 SOS and only lost to Auburn at Auburn.they win dirty, sure, but they've done pretty great for having a shitty kicker, losing Thomas, and having a bunch of injuries of key players.[Edited on November 28, 2006 at 3:43 PM. Reason : ill be interested to see how far back they end up being if USC and UF both win out]
11/28/2006 3:42:54 PM
NO REMATCH.....till next season....as for those 'edges' one is 9 freakin' yards? wow, that's big....
11/28/2006 3:43:19 PM
i support this thread
11/28/2006 3:44:21 PM
if UF and USC win out their conferences then they both have a pretty good argument....usc only can say they won by more points, but against easier opponents.... UM lost to OSU and will not win their conference, tough luck, IMHO you should win your conference and have a great-stellar record to play in the NC game.... sucks for Boise though
11/28/2006 3:45:53 PM
im also tired of ppl acting like Arkansas is gonna kill us. we've got the #1 run D in the SEC and something like #4 in the nation. you know those dirty pigs cant throw the ball worth a damn.
11/28/2006 3:49:29 PM
everyone continues to act like USC's lost to Oregon State wasn't a big deal.....Its a HUGE deal when talking about the NC game! Just like everyone is saying Michigan "had their chance" USC did too but was a 100 times worse loss than Michigans[Edited on November 28, 2006 at 7:01 PM. Reason : .]
