I know they make some IR lights for cameras using LEDs. Not sure how much one of those would cost though... probably be more than 1.79 per LED though :/

just suck it up and get them at the RatShack. DigiKey would work too, but I think they make you have a mininum order of $20 or soemthing like that.

with all the moving around and playing with the remote though, if I used that I would probably only be able to play for 15 minutes or so, then i'd have to wait an hour to play again
