Thank God we got that abysmal offense out of here.

26 points at the half, thats terrible, reminds me of that game where we had like what 13 points at halftime??

gtfo with that

Run and Gun is so much better, and you guys fail to realize how many GREAT players and contributors we lost this year.

You have to respect the fact that Herb brought us back from really the dead and made us an ACC power again, but you know what he is gone....leave the man alone. He should get nothing but respect from our fans. He left when you people wanted him to.

I had no real problem with Herb's offense from an excitement point of view, but I have to say that at no time tonight did I see a big man at the top of the key with no idea of what to do with the ball. With Herb, that happened a dozen times a night.

Offense in college is mostly instinct except when you get a wide open lay up off of a good pick and roll. It takes time for young players to learn where to be on defense. A win is a win... end of story. thanks for coming out.

what you cunts don't understand, especially you faggot ass charlieefh, is that this was a fucking win. In a month nobody in here will be able to remember what the score was. In a year nobody will remember either. The point is we won the game. Coach Lowes team was so fun to watch.

everyone understands its gonna be a tough year. FINE. But it was fucking worth it to get that boring, unentertaining, bitch of a coach herb out of town. NCSU basketball is back to being fun, and in a couple of years we are going to start competing with the big programs because this mother fucker can recruit.

This is a team that has no depth, a new coach, a new system, and a frontcourt that has basically no experience before this year.

A game where they had to fight to come back, make some in-game adjustments, and learn to listen to and trust their new coach will ultimately be MUCH better for the team than a 30 point blowout.

By the way, we shot 62% from inside the arc and only took 18 3 pointers for the game. We scored consistently across the whole game and got to the foul line regularly.

Our defense needs some work, but even after the halftime adjustments, wofford was sinking 3s with hands in their faces. They just shot lights out, and beyond not leaving the wide open 3's, there's not much more you can do.

All of you who are expecting a national title caliber team this year need to shut the fuck up. You are stupid.

no one thinks that

not really

we're still not communicating with our passes and we're still missing easy shots under the rim

that's like saying we've gotten better with each game...yet we've only played 1 game

this team, as it is right now, could easily lose 3 non-ACC games

a win isn't just a win--how you play and get that win determines the caliber of your team

If that had been Herb on the sidelines today we would have lost that game by 20-30 points. Remember Seton Hall last year? And that was with the 2005 roster. Lowe made excellent adjustments during half time--even little things during the dead ball time out--I saw him have a talk with Fells to setup that sick baseline drive and dunk he pulled. Lowe has a great presence on the sideline and the adjustments he made saved the win for us. Don't confuse a thin roster with poor coaching.

Well it's not totally on point because we played Wofford, a team picked to finish in the bottom half of the SoCon. Seton Hall was a NCAA Tourney team from the best conference in the country that year..

I like Sidney a lot, but lets quit it with the senseless Herb bashing. Since I started school I recall ONE game played against a crap team like that which was close, against UNC-Gay when Grundy hit the game winner at the buzzer.. that was like 5 years ago.

I don't think it's 'better' than Herb but I also could care less. Herb is gone. I'm not going to sit here and complain when we lose about not having him just like I'm not going to sit here and gloat about not having him when we win. It's sour grapes on BOTH sides. Though I know it's impossible I'd love to not see his name in another NC State related conversation this year..

** As I said I think we finish 9th in the ACC. Mock me all you want if we finish higher, I'd love it. I've learned long ago that if I have unrealistic expectations it sucks more when you lose. I think 9th is realistic and anything else will be all the props in the world to Sid.

BTW, Wofford was the third game State has played so far, just the first game of the regular season. They played both Northern State and St. Augustine in exhibition the last two weeks prior to Wofford. And they have gotten better in each game, they looked the roughest against a short all-white Northern State team. They have become more cohesive and comfortable with the offence and their teammates each game so far.

yeah, but did you watch that game??? seton hall didnt exactly play "lights out" either, and kicked our ass. wed have lost to anybody that night. no major adjustments were made, and thats all im looking for this year. when problems occur, for adjustments to be made. that was our biggest problem in the past.

At least Lowe won his 1st game, unlike Sendork, whose ASU team lost to Northern Arizona by 4. Northern Arizona adjusted to the ol' weave and heave in the 2nd half and shut down the Sun Devils, wow there's a shocker.

quotes from the ASU-NAU game summary that sound eerily familiar....

Quote :
"Arizona State led 14-5 after seven minutes, but NAU responded with a 9-0 run to tie the game at 14-14 midway through the first half."

Quote :
"NAU closed the first half on a 22-10 run to take a 39-33 lead into intermission."

Quote :
"The Sun Devils hit six of their first eight shots from the floor but then went cold. They made only nine of their next 26 shots to end the first half."

Quote :
"ASU hit only 10-of-36 from beyond the arc."

Dude, it's fucking Mid-November. Teams constantly play shitty this time of year, even good teams (which we're not yet).

Remember Gardner Fucking Webb ALMOST beating UNC last year? I hear that team went on to do pretty well.

Lowe is recruiting like a madman and I think Larry Harris could sell ice to an eskimo. Guys we are going to have a very talented team once all of Sid's recruits are here. Just be patient, this year expectations are low and they should be.

***** C JJ Hickson
**** PF Tracy Smith
***/**** PG Julius Mays
***/**** SG CJ Williams
*** SF Johnny Thomas

I added CJ becuase its at least 90% hes going to commit to us fairly soon. And these 2 guys are very early in the recruiting rankings they could easily be bumped to a 4 star next year especially Williams.
