We will take back the house, but not the senate. Atleast we will have some foothold again, and create more of a balance on the national level.

Well, the only Dem Senator that was somewhat in danger won.....open seat in Maryland(formerly held by Dem) might ruin the Dems night.I think Dems will win either VA or Tenn, 51/49[Edited on November 7, 2006 at 8:41 PM. Reason : w]

well, looks like the only way Dems will get Senate seats is to have pro life canidates.....so, they will vote for a pro life Justice. So will there really be much of a change in the Senate? You can say the two Dems that just won are more Republicans in Dems clothingIf Webb wins, that would be 3Ford is getting killed(like i predicted) in Tenn.....should be called shortly[Edited on November 7, 2006 at 8:50 PM. MSNBC called Joe Lieberman (Indy) to defeat Ned Lamont (Dem) for Senate in Connecticut. What a difference a few months make. Here's a take from a person that thinks Allen might've just survived Webb for Senate in Virginia.

inspite of democrats holding their ground in two key senate races and picking up three seats so far, it looks like the republicans will barely keep control of the senate.
11/7/2006 10:28:58 PM
Go, Joe! Ahahahahahahahahaha!

Looks like Virginia will have an automatic recount for Senate.MSNBC has called Heath Shuler to defeat Charles Taylor in NC-11.As far as third parties,Bernard Sanders (Independent) and Joe Lieberman (Connecticut for Lieberman) elected to Senate. The Green candidate in Illinois for governor is getting 10.4%. This vote is almost entirely a protest vote. This is important cause Illinois has very high ballot access requirements that act as an impediment, and by having passed the 5% mandatory threshold they're on the ballot statewide for president in 2008 and other races in 2008.In Maine for the governor race, an Independent is getting 21% right now and a Green candidate is 10%. It looks like the Republican avoided the shame of taking third. In Massachusetts, Independent Christy Mihos got 7% for governor. In Texas, Independent (and Scott McClellan's mom) Carole Strayhorn is getting 18%. Kinky is getting 11%. For awhile the Democrat looked like getting 4th here, but was able to take a comfortable second.

We found him because we have a Democratic House and Senate!"R: "No we found him because we have a Republican in the Whitehouse!"D: "No its because we have a Democrat-majority Senate and House of Reps!"R: "No!"D: "No!"

A source close to Allen also told CNN that the senator "has no intention of dragging this out."Meanwhile, a Webb aide told CNN that he plans a formal news conference Thursday morning to declare victory.
11/8/2006 9:48:58 PM
Twista, you're rightI wish we could all just stop worrying about the credit for things and just be like "gg America"But I'll be the first to admit I'm not good at all in not stopping to try to sort out the credit. The problem comes in the "well if I don't tell them they're wrong, they won't know" kinda thing.Maybe I'll try not to engage in this kind of thing, but I doubt I'll make it. Specifically on the budget.
11/8/2006 9:49:24 PM

I just hope the Democrats don't waste their opportunity, or all us anti-Republicans will have to eat some crow.
11/8/2006 10:40:54 PM
opportunity to do what, exactly?
11/8/2006 10:57:57 PM
here is the thing about this election....republicans lost....and they should have....im almost glad...because while republicans lost...i think conservatism won....because the republicans, as of late, were not very conservative...so thats why the republicans lost...on the other hand....democrats won....they won bigtime...but liberalism didnt win...as evidence for this i point to the liberal hero, ned lamont...he was the prime example of a liberal....and he got killed....so while democrats won...liberalism lost....eeeh....
