^^our defense doesnt force turnovers because our offense never puts pressure on the other team to have to score. thats how you force turnovers. we have great running backs. an average oline really good wrs. everybodys young especially willie so we will get better.all we need is a decent qb and we will put up points and put pressure on teh other team to score which will bring the takeaways up.[Edited on November 4, 2006 at 11:51 AM. Reason : beck is good so if its beck or an improved evans/burke will will have a good qb next year.]
11/4/2006 11:50:06 AM
i like how you keep talking QB when the OLine needs to step the fuck up
11/4/2006 12:35:50 PM
told you fuckers, Butch Davis or RR
11/4/2006 12:39:51 PM
and all you guys who always say players don't read message boards i wish you were watching the clemson maryland gamethe announcers said "proctor is one of the few guys that don't look on the internet at chat boards because he doens't care whats on them"^^the oline would be much better if we had a better qb. they have provided stellar protection at times vs bc and fsu when the qb was doing really well. if you can make more guys have to play coverage the oline will do better. if you can establish your run with a passing game the oline will look alot better also.the qb makes the oline good or bad just like the oline cna make the qb good or bad. [Edited on November 4, 2006 at 1:07 PM. Reason : oline was awesome when rivers was here.]

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2648903The North Carolina head coaching job has been tacitly offered to Butch Davis, several sources in the coaching business have told ESPN.com."It is Butch Davis if he wants," one source said via e-mail Friday. North Carolina, he continued, "would like a commitment soon, [in] two to three weeks from Butch."The Tar Heels fired sixth-year coach John Bunting, effective at the end of the season, on Oct. 22.Davis has begun assembling a coaching staff from the ranks of NFL and major college programs should he decide to accept the North Carolina coaching job, according to a coach who has spoken to Davis and two agents whose clients are interested in jobs at Chapel Hill."Some of the coaches that would be on Butch's staff have been calling [coaches] in the [Atlantic Coast] Conference, asking questions about players, facilities," one source said.In Chapel Hill on Friday night, North Carolina athletic director Dick Baddour declined to comment on the search through sports information director Steve Kirschner.Davis has been performing due diligence on the North Carolina job for several days, inquiring about issues from the administrative (how has the salary structure of assistant coaches changed since he left college football in 2000 to coach the Cleveland Browns?) to the qualitative (how much can he win at Chapel Hill?).Davis coached the Browns for nearly four seasons, going 24-36 before resigning late in the 2004 season. He coached at the University of Miami from 1995-2000, going 51-20 as he rebuilt the Hurricanes into a national power.Davis had expressed interest in a return to Miami in the past, but sources said on Friday night that the coach dismissed the possibility of a return to the university.Davis also is near the top of the list of candidates to replace John L. Smith at Michigan State, but a source close to Davis says he considers North Carolina to be the more attractive position.Larry Coker, an assistant to Davis, replaced him as head coach and led Miami to the 2001 national championship and to a double-overtime loss to Ohio State in the 2002 championship game. However, the Hurricanes' power has slowly ebbed over the past four seasons. They are 5-3 going into their home game Saturday against No. 23 Virginia Tech.

Miami needs to fire Coker NOW and reach out to Butch.. But I've heard he wouldn't go back to Miami because of a coordinator Coker fired earlier this season was a friend of Butch's and he wasn't happy about that..

http://www.wral.com/sports/10275631/detail.htmlSources: Davis, UNC Close To DealPOSTED: 4:20 pm EST November 8, 2006UPDATED: 4:47 pm EST November 8, 2006CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Sources indicate that former NFL coach Butch Davis is expected to soon become North Carolina's new head football coach.Insiders both in Cleveland at the University of North Carolina told WRAL that negotiations between the Tar Heels and Butch Davis have entered the final stages. There is no word when or if a contract has been signed, but one source indicated that both sides "are at a point where only the I's need dotting and T's crossed."The Winston-Salem Journal reported Wednesday afternoon that a deal has been signed by Davis to accept the head coaching job at UNC. Athletic officials at the university declined to comment on the negotiations or the status of the coaching search late Wednesday afternoon.Davis was fired from the Cleveland Browns in 2004 and spent the last two years working for the NFL Network. Prior to his tenure at Cleveland, he was the head coach at Miami, taking over a problem-ridden program and setting the table for Larry Coker and the Canes 2001 national championship. If a deal is reached, the next step will be a formal announcement by the Tar Heels. With outsted John Bunting still running the team until the end of the season, North Carolina might want to delay the press conference. But it is important that when or if Davis is hired, he will need to get started as soon as possible for recruiting purposes.

More pressure for Cowher
11/8/2006 6:02:07 PM
remember when we were close to a deal and in the "final stages" with calipari?
11/8/2006 6:06:33 PM
^Yes, but I guarantee that they won't fuck it up like Fowler did. UNC was smart enough to hire someone to lead the coaching search and had enough sense to realize a lot of colleges would be looking for a coach at the end of this season and got the job done not only early, but right. They win again.
11/8/2006 6:12:36 PM

11/8/2006 6:24:50 PM
