Well, if nobody takes me seriously like you claim, then nobody needs you to point those things out. What makes it your responsibility to derail threads into personal attacks just because you don't like the contributions I make?Even if you completely disagree with what I say, how come your ultimate reasoning always boils down to "omg you're an idiot"?Don't you realize that you are contributing to turning threads to shit by doing that? If you don't like something I say why don't you just ignore it?PS: Find me one single thread where I attacked you (not your viewpoints, but you) before you attacked me?

Was there ever a time when people didn't bitch about how the Soap Box used to be great until somebody came along and that ever since then its been really bad?I'm sure that about a 3 days after TWW went online somebody posted a thread about how great the Soap Box was until ________ came along and fucked it up.

10/27/2006 4:45:41 PM
did anyone even state a reason?
10/27/2006 9:53:24 PM
I will state a reason.Or rather, I will try to give a consolidated answer. If I tried to explain it all out...well..TWW would have a hell of a thread.Just to give you a little about me..I am old enough to remember Carter in office.I think that a lot of my opinion comes from being old enough to actually remember what happened in the past few presidents terms. It really helps to decide who is full of crap.Second.....I think that the left makes a huge mistake in thinking that we on the right are 100% backing of Bush.I think that the left is equally incorrect when they think that we are upset with Bush because of some accusations that the left has made. Not a single person that I know of on the right are the least bit concerned or claims of Torture, Corruption, Illegal Wiretapping...etc....by the left.In fact, we see the left as a bunch of cry-babys.It is also true that the left does not get it that we are not upset with Bush because he is too conservative. Most people I know on the right are upset because we think that Bush and the GOP have not been conservative enough. In fact, we are as pissed as can be that the left treats politics like a bloodsport and the GOP treats it like a gentleman's game. We want a TON more fight for our guys. So why are we voting the way we are?Simple. As bad as our side is right now, the left is far worse. The simple fact that the left is so concerned over the possibility of torture over a bunch of animals that would laugh as they are slashing the throats of every person that you have ever known is seriously troubling.Incompetence?Like I said..I remember Carter and when he was in office.I remember the tax rate at that time. I remember the unemployment.I remember the "Misery Index" and the reports of where it was every week. If you do not know what the Misery Index was...look it up.I remember the arguments that the presidency had gotten too big for one man to handle. No man can adequately deal with all the responsibilities of this office ....they said.I remember even/odd days. That is where you were allowed to buy gas on only certain days. The days you were allowed to buy gas was determined by if had an even or an odd number as the last digit in your car plates.I remember the daily reports of the Iranian hostages. If negotiations were ever going to work, they should have worked then. In fact, if anything that the left is proposing today had a hope in hell of working, they should have been able to make it work then. Yet Carter and the US was the laughing stock of the world. I remember that the Iranian hostages were ONLY released when Iran feared we might have somebody that would actually do something besides talk. (Reagan)I see that Carter is today a major spokesman for the Democrats.I also remember that when his (and the current Democrat plans for us) were actually enacted, the people rejected it in one of the biggest landslides in my memory. (Carter's loss to Reagan)In addition to Carter, I remember Clinton.I remember his promises to not raise taxes....and as soon as he was elected......Just Kidding. I have to raise them after all.(No..not excusing Bush 41 for raising taxes either)Wreckless spending?Well..I am not at all happy with the spending that my side has engaged in.I am under no illusions however about even this spending exploding if the GOP lost power. And I am under no illusions that my current tax cuts will not only dissapear but new taxes will jump up everywhere. Some of you do not yet get it. Nothing you have done wrong..you are just not to that place in life.I have a wife and a son. It would be VERY hard look at them and say no to even more that they want because I just lost another 20% of my income in new taxes.Cronyism?I am guessing that this is a Haliburton hit...yet again.I remember the first Gulf War though. And I remember the Iraq war.I remember that with all the Demonizing of Haliburton, the left has never explained what company should have gotten the contract.I remember the countless times when it has been brought up....There are only 2 companies on the planet that are set up for this type of work..Haliburton and a French company. And even if I were to overlook the fact that France ran like the cowards that they are and therefore no company of theirs deserved the contract, then I would have to remember that the France company also happens to be a division of Haliburton.Corruption? Are you freaking kidding me?I remember a president trying to re-define the meaning of the word "is".I remember so much about the Clintons that I do not even know where to begin.I also recognize that if Corruption really bothered the left, they would not have bent into contortions that mystifies Circus freaks to defend these clowns.Illegal Wiretapping?I can only conclude by this that the left is opposed to trying to tap into enemy chatter. In fact, I do not believe that there has been any illegal wiretapping. I do not see any charges filed on the issue..which only supports my belief. But I do find it VERY interesting that the left...who never cared if Clinton broke the law.....and used the fact that he was not CONVICTED as a defense..now does not want to do the same thing with Bush.Like I said..I do not think for a moment that there was any illegal wiretapping......and I do not think that I have lost any liberties in the Patriot act...Even if I had however, I have studied enough history to know what ration stamps were during WWII. It can easily be argued that there has never been a war when some liberties were put on hold for pragmatic reasons. They always came back after the war was over however. And to think that you can have a war with NO sacrifice on your part is once again reminding me of why we lost Vietnam. The US did not lose a single battle there. We lost for the EXACT same loss of will that the left is showing today.I could go on..but I imagine that some people's eyes are starting to blurr. So I will close on this point. The left has a hate for Bush that has left reason.I remember back when the left had the same hate of Reagan. He was a cowboy. He was going to get us into war with Russia. Russia is a super-power..we can never change that. We have to learn to simply live with that.Reagan was the devil...and on and on....But looking back now, I know Reagan was correct...and the left was wrong.I then remember Bush 41..It can not EVER get any worse than this. Now Bush 43....He is the devil.I simply can no longer take the left seriously and I can not wait until 2008 when the "Devil" baton is passed on to the next Republican. What scares me though is how far gone the left has gotten on this issue.I have actually heard people on the left propose that Bush blew up the levies in NO.Hell..I heard a few say that Bush caused the Hurricanes..ALL OF THEM.Right here at TWW, you can, right now, find a thread that ponders if Bush blew up the Towers. At the very least, he was supposed to know about it beforehand.Once again..I can go on and on. But when I see this type of insanity, I have to consider the hate and what it can lead to.It is in the fit of rage that somebody get's shot usually. Why do I say this? To point out that if the left would get back into power, at this point, I can not rule out what they would do solely to hurt Bush. They might pull out of Iraq...just to make sure we lose the war and make Bush look bad. They might hand the country back to Saddam..once again to make Bush look bad.And they will not ever stop to consider what they have just done.....that is what a blind rage does to people.I can not chance it. I care what happens past the politics.I am not wild about Bush and a lot of his policies but I know for a fact that the left will do immeasurable damage if they got power. So I will go to the polls and vote for the Gop again this election.Believe it or not...that is a highly condensed answer. And yes..I probably miss-spelled a word....get over it.[Edited on November 1, 2006 at 3:12 AM. I am not terribly worried about Bush approval ratings.I have never known a president to have great approval ratings at this stage of a 2nd term.I also question the polls.I remember in 2004 when Kerry had already won...Bush number were low....it was over....until Bush got more votes than any president in history. That mindset you present is part of what I fear though. You are convinced that Bush is so bad and you will allow exactly what I stated to show everybody.(Well actually.....your disapproval of Bush was pretty controlled...so I am not accusing you of heading up the charge here.)I would also like to point out that what I stated..I stated from my own personal memory.Nobody can make a valid argument that any of it did not happen. And no amount of spin will change what I know happened. I was there.Something else to think about too.Polls and the following of them are a recent phenomena. (At least to the point that they are followed today.) I question that the science has kept pace with the people though.[Edited on November 1, 2006 at 3:44 AM. Reason : .]

I see quiet guy..So you are saying that were also there?I merely pointed out why I am chosing to vote. I was trying to give insight to my side as well.I have also been around long enough to know that when the other side has no real comeback, they resort to words like "ridiculous"......With no real explanation as to what they mean by it.[Edited on November 1, 2006 at 3:49 AM. You seem to be saying that nothing can change your mind about your perspective on things. Is that the case?If someone were to show you that something you believed to have happened, didn't happen they way you believe, do you think you could handle it and revise your opinions?
