that looks stock?
10/24/2006 12:01:46 PM
yeah - other than the addition of a lcd in a slot where it appears that it fits - the stock lcd i moved to the bottom and i put the new touchscreen lcd in the top slothave you been in a 04-06 maxima? in reality this should get back on topic to the civic...]
10/24/2006 12:05:01 PM
One weekend because your car already had the perfect opening in the stock dash.Yeah look at how close they come to achieving their goals. Swapping an LCD and fiberglassing a hack job bezel are apples to oranges.
10/24/2006 12:12:19 PM
you act like the fabrication required in most cars is difficult - most of times it's very basic stuffquinn you aren't worth arguing with ]
10/24/2006 12:13:50 PM
Dude seriously you have no idea what you're talking about. Don't post retarded shit people with easy double din slots do because both quinn and I know exactly how to fit a 7inch screen in a double din of anything. Instead, show me the pictures of the guys who try and get stand alone single din LCD's without spending hours upon hours of fabricating fiberglass. Which, by the fucking way, is very hard to get exactly stock looking. Don't even fucking bother mentioning bondo. And furthermore, newer economy cars like the civic go out of their way to incorporate radio and HVAC controls within their consoles and to make any of THAT resemble stock you'd have to start with the double din LCD bezzel from the factory which will cost you an arm and a leg.Now shut the fuck up. Thanks.
10/24/2006 12:20:14 PM
thats another reason i dont do nissan
10/24/2006 12:24:41 PM
you and quinn sound like experts - i marvel at your intelligence....fucking idiotscivic]
10/24/2006 12:26:17 PM
And for the record:http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=29361Throw out the "less then $250" because those guys aren't bothering making anything look particularly stock on a hard install. As you can see, the median is the $1000 range not counting man hours.^ DUDE DID YOU EVEN READ THAT THREAD?
10/24/2006 12:27:10 PM
Go ahead and post the entire worklog, as ive read it before. You posted a picture of photoshop plan.Point out the parts of it that get done in one weekend when youre done fixing your first fuckup.[Edited on October 24, 2006 at 12:28 PM. Reason : im not worth argueing with, because im 10 times smarter]
10/24/2006 12:27:41 PM
i agree it'll cost more than $250 - but it'll be a lot cheaper than $2000 - which if you are buying a civic in the first place - cost is probably an issue...
10/24/2006 12:28:03 PM

10/24/2006 12:30:11 PM
Dude I will make any double din slot look purely stock. Especially ones that already have a factory navi bezzel available
10/24/2006 12:31:19 PM
what point are you even trying to argue here?
10/24/2006 12:32:06 PM
10/24/2006 12:33:14 PM
i respect a man who is smart enough to start swimming when the boat sinks
10/24/2006 12:33:36 PM
it is basic stuff most of the time - i agree that while the term basic may mean extremely difficult to you just as 3x3 is hard for a retard
10/24/2006 12:34:24 PM
Yea he's gotta be trolling
10/24/2006 12:34:28 PM
pent up aggression from a project gone bad?
10/24/2006 12:36:54 PM
Well, he searched a website to prove that its not hard to put an LCD in a civic. Found the first and basically only 2006 civic project log. Looked at the first image which was a photoshop attempt to plan out how it would look. He did not bother reading that it was a photoshop image and thought "hey that looks pretty good, ill show these idiots on thewolfweb" who keep in mind have already admitted frequenting the same website, and are most likely pseudo intrested in 06/07 model civics (posting in a civic thread). Then completly ignored 3-4 PAGES of bondo fabrication. Ignored the disaster of a startup circuit on page 8 and most importantly images of the actual final product.Good job sir
10/24/2006 12:39:11 PM
i guess at least you got the sir part right
10/24/2006 12:45:23 PM
^Nice setup you have by the way.Which is why i posted
10/24/2006 12:46:33 PM
the only thing you can find close to that is the certain year (i forget which one now) wrx sti that has nothing in it - i considered it for that reason when i was car shopping last year
10/24/2006 12:50:36 PM
I'd like to know the details of your system and what exactly you did in one weekend.Because frankly, I think you're full of shit - at this point.
10/24/2006 12:59:28 PM
my work thread on here got deleted i guess - slut helped and another guy that's not on herehardwarepac aai adapterlaptop + dock - soldered a momentary switch onto the dock's power buttonusb gps mousexenarc 700tsvusb external hddaudigy 2 nxvarious cablessoftwarewinxp strippedfrodoplayeriguidance3various toolsi think the most amount of time was spent figuring out which wires to cut/solder on the laptop dock and moving the stock lcd to the bottom slotit's probably one of the most simple setups you can have - i know not everyone is able to simply do what i did and have it work out nice and simple - the only thing i wanted to do but never really got around to was to install a cover for the top lcd that would slide up on push to block sunlight from the front windshield - it wouldn't take more than a few hours to install by someone that has never done it before (not counting software installation/setup)
10/24/2006 1:17:41 PM
So that plastic bezzel looking thing is stock?Where is the screen, at the top or bottom?
10/24/2006 1:24:52 PM
yeah that's stock - the stock lcd that goes in there i moved to the bottom - it has radio info/hvac info/car menu settings/etcthe touchscreen is on the top where the stock lcd use to bethere are pictures in my gallery which would have answered that quesiton ]
