It would be awesome to see Wake win the ACC.I wouldn't even be pissed about us.
10/22/2006 12:55:31 PM
i could see clemson winning out. i also think that bc has a chance to win out, but it much less likely to happen. if both do win out, bc goes to the ACC championship game. if that happens, does anyone think that clemson could possibly pick up an at-large BCS bid? they will likely be in the top-8 if they win out and give the ACC two BCS teams (clemson and the winner of the ACC championship game). again unlikely, but the best scenario for the ACC to get two BCS bids.
10/22/2006 1:09:13 PM
No I don't see it.They would have to take Clemson over either the winner of Michigan/Ohio State or the 2nd place SEC team.Or Notre Dame, who I think gets a spot automatically if they are top 10.[Edited on October 22, 2006 at 1:11 PM. Reason : ACC is super weak this year]
10/22/2006 1:11:28 PM
^^definately, but hopefully somehow we can get our miracles going and beat clemson and go.[Edited on October 22, 2006 at 1:12 PM. Reason : very possible]^there are 5 at large bids this year[Edited on October 22, 2006 at 1:14 PM. Reason : cuz 2 champions will be in glendale.]
10/22/2006 1:12:36 PM
we will go to jacksonville if we win out, wake loses two games, and bc loses one more game.it could happen right?RIGHT?!!??!
10/22/2006 1:20:53 PM
We have to win out. That will not happen. If we beat UVA, GT, and Clemson, then we truly are the biggest "WTF?!?!?!?" team in the county. Then we would lose to UNC and possible ECU. Our team is bipolar. But yes, 1% chance we beat the next 3 teams.Wake and BC play each other, so one of them will have 2 ACC loses. We need BC to lose 1 more game, wether it comes from WF or Miami.WF needs 2 more loses for us to pull ahead of them. They play FSU, BC, VT, UNC, Maryland. 2 more loses is very possible.Still, we really dont have a chance because we can only lose 1 more game, and thats to ECU.
10/24/2006 4:43:07 PM
WF and maryland really only need 1 more loss to force a three or more way tie which we would win because we'd have wins over the best team from the other division and overall against the top 3 teams in the conference
10/24/2006 7:27:31 PM
WF and maryland both beat us. That would make us 0-2 against those and it would be between WF and Maryland. In case you didn't read my post on the first page:
10/24/2006 7:47:34 PM
we would be 2-2 you arent counting bc and clemson we would have an advantage over those 2 teams any way you cut it and they are likely to swing bigger dicks. and you are also assuming maryland wins 4 out of a very tough 5
10/24/2006 8:03:10 PM
I didn't assume anything. You just said WF and Maryland would need one more loss to cause a 3-way tie. A 4way tie between Us/WF/BC/Clemson would be a fucking mess.[Edited on October 24, 2006 at 8:28 PM. Reason : ]

Bi-POLAR!
10/25/2006 12:38:32 PM
Can we seriously just stop this shit about figuring out what it would take for us to make it. We aren't going to. Period. Call me a bad fan if you want but this is just stupid. We lost to fucking Akron. We aren't running the table.V yeah, if the Clemson and BC planes somehow collide in mid air.[Edited on October 25, 2006 at 1:14 PM. Reason : x]
10/25/2006 1:12:58 PM
So you're saying theres a change
10/25/2006 1:13:50 PM
Yeah this thread should have never been made.We have to win 3 out of our last 5 just to have a CHANCE at a bowl.
10/25/2006 1:15:12 PM
10/25/2006 1:33:31 PM
honestly, when we lost to MD we lost any reasonable shot at winning the ACC, although there is a chance. We wont beat both Clem and GT (prolly with a weird win over clem and a stupid loss to GT). We should beat UVA and UNC (even though we have bad luck against them). And then assuming that we did loose to GT and Clem and beat UNC and UVA we have to then beat ECU just to go to a toilet bowl. So... to go BCS we have to win out conference games (very unlikely). Then beat the other divisions winner (probably GT) which if it is GT we wont beat them twice. So be happy to win 3 of the next 5 and go to a toilet bowl.
10/25/2006 1:55:30 PM
I am not so sure that a bowl would take our weak ass 6-6 team. They don't have to take us at all, but we do travel win because we have REAL FANS OMG Earl
10/25/2006 4:02:38 PM
10/25/2006 4:05:29 PM
it would probobly be miami if we beat gt maybe somehow vt. they are both worse too.
10/25/2006 4:46:39 PM
We have to win out for a chance to BCSWe still need wake to lose 2, and BC to lose 1
10/25/2006 4:49:23 PM
^if wake lost 1 we would be fine because we beat clemson and whoever else they lost to and they didnt. if wake or maryland loses 2 we don't have to worry about the other one having a 3rd loss.
10/25/2006 5:25:38 PM
We lost to WF, we would not be fine[Edited on October 25, 2006 at 5:39 PM. Reason : d]
10/25/2006 5:39:26 PM
^yes we would. the only way we wouldnt is if bc and clemson tottally collapsed. look at how the tiebreaking works.
10/25/2006 5:43:06 PM
10/25/2006 5:55:57 PM
Hypothetically, if there was a 3 way tie between us/Clemson/WF: Clemson would be 1-1, NC State would be 1-1, and WF would be 1-1. Clemson would be 3-2 in the Atlantic Division, NC State would be 3-2. If WF loses to either BC, MD, or FSU they would be 3-2. If they lose to VT, WF would be 4-1 in the atlantic. Assuming WF is 3-2, step #3 gets a little more complicated and it depends on the other Atlantic Division team records and I don't feel like thinking that much.[Edited on October 25, 2006 at 6:01 PM. Reason : ]
10/25/2006 5:57:48 PM
I am worried about WF and NCSU being tiedSince WF beat us, dont they automatically get the Atlantic title?
10/25/2006 6:10:08 PM
10/25/2006 6:11:12 PM
well whats the god damn answer
10/25/2006 6:12:30 PM
If it ends up WF and NC State, WF wins the Atlantic Division since they won the head to head. It's not that hard.
10/25/2006 6:15:03 PM
Thats what I thought. but the rules someone posted
10/25/2006 6:17:27 PM
haha. That could be kinda confusing. The whole two team tied rules are pointless. A team would have only played the other team once. So the head-to-head would be either 0-1 or 1-0. There's no need for the other rules.
10/25/2006 6:20:07 PM
hmm.We still have to win out.Or at the very least have an extremely lucky 3way tie.but uhh, maybe we do have a chance against Clemson
10/26/2006 11:09:16 PM
BC will lose down the line. we have a tiebreaker with BC. if we win out, we take the acc division, even after all of you people's complaining.
10/27/2006 1:23:24 AM
i'm feeling a little hopeful and i dont know why. but usually when i feel this way it turns out well, so we'll see
10/27/2006 8:52:23 AM
we got a damn good chance. beating FSU and BC early will turn out to be huge down the road.Gotta make it 3-2 this weekend or our chances are shot. And I'm with ^, I still feel like we have a chance.GO PACK
10/27/2006 9:21:21 AM
If only FSU had beaten BC, then BC beats Wake, and Wake loses another game. BOOYA we got a good chance (assuming we win out). No way in hell maryland doesnt lose 2
10/27/2006 9:35:47 AM
If we had beaten Maryland, then this thread would be for real. That loss killed us. We might beat either Tech or Clemson, but I don't see us beating both.
10/27/2006 12:19:35 PM
Anyone else notice how weak the coastal division is compared to the Atlantic division?
10/27/2006 12:55:01 PM
LOL, you guys make me laugh. And I don't want us to get a BCS bid, we've already had enough national embarassment.
10/27/2006 1:06:48 PM
10/27/2006 2:23:13 PM
we could beat rutgers boise or maybe notre dame.
10/27/2006 4:40:48 PM
We couldn't beat fucking Akron. What makes you think we beat any of those 3 teams.. especially Notre Dame. Please gtfo out of Sports Talk and end your life as quickly as possible.
10/27/2006 4:42:05 PM
We beat BC and FSU. What makes you think we beat any of those 3 teams.. especially Notre Dame.[Edited on October 27, 2006 at 4:44 PM. Reason : ]
10/27/2006 4:44:31 PM
First off FSU sucks ass this year. All 3 of those teams are FAR better than FSU this year.About those 2 wins though. That is exactly the point. We are far too inconsistent... ** One more thing: We have as good a chance as Rutgers does to make the BCS game. Which is none.[Edited on October 27, 2006 at 4:47 PM. Reason : x]
10/27/2006 4:45:59 PM
^ur an idiot man. to say we couldnt beat anybody is a stretch. I just listed the least talented probable bcs team rutgers and 2 passing teams that we match up well against boise and notre dame. now just about anybody can beat anybody but if you had to say teams we couldnt beat you would say teams like wvu auburn ohio state michigan usc.we beat bc and im 100% sure if we hadn't played them yet you'd be saying we couldn't beat them. YOU ARE NOT A STATE FAN. GET YOUR BUT BACK TO NEW ENGLANDand just because we lost to akron means we couldnt beat them? we "beat" them anyway.[Edited on October 27, 2006 at 4:49 PM. Reason : if i had to pick us to beat any top tier team it would be nd. who would you pick?][Edited on October 27, 2006 at 4:50 PM. Reason : poser]
10/27/2006 4:48:04 PM
It means quit getting false hope for something that it destined not to happen. We aren't going to a BCS bowl. Too many things needs to go perfect and they simply aren't going to. I would NEVER say a team can't beat BCU. The Beagles are a classic choke-job team. They will probably never win the ACC and they certainly won't EVER finish a year undefeated. They are a joke. Once people realize that, they will realize wins over them don't mean shit..** A top tier team? I'd say Boise, though I'd hardly classify them as top tier like you did. Only because of the overall team speed that we have compared to Boise. I also wouldn't consider Rutgers a top tier team either, but I do think they are a better football team by leaps and bounds than us..[Edited on October 27, 2006 at 4:50 PM. Reason : x]
10/27/2006 4:49:58 PM
well i happen to think bc has been more impressive than nd this season^boise aint a top tier team neither is rutgers.put it this way. what usa today top 10 team would you pick us to have the best chance against?tennessee?[Edited on October 27, 2006 at 4:54 PM. Reason : HAD TO GET A NEW QUOTE DUDE BEAT ME TO THE GOLDEN ONE]
10/27/2006 4:51:42 PM
Well, ND has played as hard a schedule (according to Sagarin) and their only loss is to the #2 team in the country.. BC has certainly not been impressive in certain W's (CMU, BUY, etc) against lesser teams than ND hasn't been as impressive in..
10/27/2006 4:53:27 PM
I think we do well in bowls because we have a singular focus. No bs about the record, no bs about the next big game. The season is over and everyone focuses, and we end up playing like we wish we could all year.
