1/15/2007 6:52:19 PM
i saw this last thursday at galaxy... it was fantastic... a little brutal, but fantastic...when the movie was over, i felt like i'd woken up from a dream...
1/15/2007 10:26:16 PM
Don't see at Crossroads, see it at the Galaxy![Edited on January 16, 2007 at 12:23 AM. Reason : it ASKS for a reason?]
1/16/2007 12:22:26 AM
any news on a dvd release date?
1/16/2007 4:04:55 AM
I wouldn't expect a DVD release for atleast another 2 months
1/16/2007 2:10:26 PM
Showtimes for the Galaxy this Friday are 1:30, 4:20, 7:10, and 9:30.Don't forget to buy lots of concessions!
1/17/2007 11:59:47 AM
I'll probably be going to see it this weekend
1/17/2007 12:13:17 PM
I'm so there.
1/17/2007 12:46:06 PM
Yay, crossroads. No offense to the galaxy but it's kind of out of the way. Wish they'd show it at North Hills, by far the best theater around here.I know you indie junkies will pan me for that, but their sound system/picture is by far the most consistent and impressive. If only the served beer...which is definitely big theatres' downfall.
1/17/2007 1:09:55 PM
I'm an "indie junkie" and I fucking love North Hills. It's my preferred mainstream theater. But how is Galaxy out of the way? I mean, unless you're already in the Crossroads shopping center...It's the same distance from NCSU and parts beyond.
1/17/2007 1:21:14 PM
wtf, Galaxy is the only indie theater that got this? That's really strange.
1/18/2007 12:39:18 PM
Well I live pretty close to crabtree area so north hills takes zero time at all *shrug*You know, I'm suprised the Colony or Mission Valley isn't picking it up but I don't know what's been going on with them recently. A good friend of mine manages the colony and he picks all these snoozefests up there. At least their showing some older pictures though, i think the play princess bride this or next week.I recommended blade runner but he's not sure yet. i don't see the downside myself
1/18/2007 1:00:49 PM
So this movie is subtitled, right? I don't mind, the wife apparently does
1/18/2007 1:34:09 PM
^^ Booking classic movies is a lot more difficult a business proposition than you might expect. I've tried it, and it's really hard to make it economically feasible.
1/18/2007 1:50:58 PM
the movie is subtitled and it's awesome.[Edited on January 18, 2007 at 2:39 PM. Reason : be nice to blind people]
1/18/2007 2:22:08 PM
She is visually impaired, yes.
1/18/2007 2:26:20 PM
If you guys wanna come check it out and she can't read the subtitles, I'd be more than happy to give you a refund.
1/18/2007 2:45:10 PM
my face = red
1/18/2007 2:50:57 PM
Just saw a tv trailer for this. Looked really good. Might have to go see this.
1/18/2007 11:30:05 PM
If you come Friday afternoon you'll get to meet Cif82 and get served the best popcorn in the south.
1/19/2007 1:53:03 AM
Sad to say, but I've wanted to watch this movie ever since it was displayed on a MTV special about fairy tale movies that are 'outside the box'.
1/19/2007 2:35:32 AM
Today's the day! I'll see it sometime this weekend, I'm sure.
1/19/2007 10:55:42 AM
I like this movie a lot.Sure you can compare it to Wizard of Oz, The Labyrinth, Secret Garden, Alice in Wonderland, and the like,....there are plenty of similarities.. shit, you can even compare it plenty to the bible, but I think there is enough originality in this movie for them to get credit. Directing was awesome and visually it was stunning and bad ass.
1/19/2007 1:14:48 PM
it was good...just not Krull good.[Edited on January 19, 2007 at 3:39 PM. Reason : f]
1/19/2007 3:39:43 PM
God damn, everybody and they mama's coming to see this.btw, this is being presented in DTS, in case anybody gives a shit.[Edited on January 19, 2007 at 7:59 PM. Reason : ]
1/19/2007 7:55:16 PM
such a sad sad movie, nothing like I expected at all. Wonderful!
1/19/2007 10:06:06 PM
I think I am gonna see this at The Ballantyne Village Theater tommorow at Noon. Looking forward to it.
1/19/2007 10:06:52 PM
It was not what I was expecting, but really really good.
1/19/2007 10:52:51 PM
^ That.
1/19/2007 11:58:28 PM
I saw this at North Hills tonight (the Galaxy times didn't really work out for me ). I watched a screener about a month ago, but liked it so much I had to see it on the big screen. I was really surprised by the audience. The theater was sold out, and I half expected some people to get pissed when they found out it was subtitled. The entire theater was completely silent for the entire two hours; everyone was captivated.
1/20/2007 12:26:44 AM
Well people don't usually "rabble rabble" when things are subtitled.Plus, I have no idea when you'd laugh during the movie. So yeah, silence is more or less the norm.
1/20/2007 2:58:52 AM
I saw it at North Hills last night too. I liked it alot, and thought it was beautiful - concept designs were fantastic. At the same time though, it's got way more brutality than I was expecting. Not a bad thing, but it was suprising. I definitely recommend it. That little girl is going to grow up into a drop-dead gorgeous and talented actress I think.
1/20/2007 10:20:07 AM
going to go see it tonight.. how does it compare to mirrormask?
1/20/2007 5:55:58 PM
i hope a lot better, cuz mirrormask was lame to me.[Edited on January 20, 2007 at 6:03 PM. Reason : .]
1/20/2007 6:03:01 PM
I saw it last night at the Raleigh Grande. I LOVED IT. My new fave movie. I loved the effects and symbolism. Ive already ordered the soundtrack. Definitely a must see film.
1/20/2007 9:33:44 PM
really good. am i the only one who interpreted the end of the film in a non-depressing way?
1/21/2007 12:24:05 AM
[Edited on January 21, 2007 at 1:13 AM. Reason : even though a completely different director!]
1/21/2007 12:54:33 AM
^^^hey...I was working there last night
1/21/2007 1:53:35 AM
Saw it at South Point saturday. Great movie. Appropriate and fulfilling ending

1/22/2007 1:52:28 AM
I thought the ending was very bittersweetBut I cried like a baby[Edited on January 22, 2007 at 3:24 PM. Reason : ps. Liquor bottle to the head has a whole new meaning to me]

1/23/2007 1:37:08 AM
Those weren't funny- dude's scary.
1/23/2007 1:40:09 AM
Also hilarious were the etchings of baby eatings on the walls and the dude with the lottery ticket. The showing I went to was abuzz with gufaws during these parts, including myself. But yes, excellent movie.
