The problem with TWC HD is the ~$60 worth of standard defintion television a month you have to have in order to even be eligible to spend the extra $10 to get the HD channels.

Fuck that.

Well thats definitely not true...16:9 stretched != HD. Id say about 20-30% of the movies are HD.

"I probably live less than a mile away from the huge towers in Garner and can't seem to pick up any HD OTA with my setup. It's just a normal $40 indoor antenna from Circuit City. I thought about taking it back because I already have Time Warner HD but I want The CW in HD dammit!"

if you have an amplified antenna... turn off the amplifier.. living that close, you won't need it. What may be happening is your antenna is picking up the reflections as well making the digital signal look like crap to your decoder.

the term "HD antenna" is really just an UHF antenna that is said to be specially designed to minimize signal reflections, etc that hurt high-bandwidth digital signals.

"I also use that as a demonstration for people who have never seen HD. Sometimes, people can see a picture on TNTHD and say "yeah... it looks pretty good. so what". then I flip to regular TNT and that's when they realize how crappy it normall is, then the HD really shines the scaler in my tv really is.
that, or just go to Sunrise Earth or some nature show on Discovery HD - those shows are stunning pointless to watch"
