now this may sound like a rant i guess, but since im an alabama fan and ive had to witness pretty much the most serious punishment the ncaa has ever put upon a school for some bad violations, it makes me kind of mad to know that miama wont get much from this, prob just suspend players for a game or two

now to me, the violence portrayed by some of these individuals from both sides should warrant some kind of punishment similar to ones teams get from booster violations, etc.
I just see the fighting out in the middle of the open, for younger kids to see, is much more heinous than what alabama, kansas, missouri, to name a few recently have done in 'behind the scenes' type things.

im not saying the other schools probations, scholarship docks, etc were harsh or too much, i just feel to get rid of crap like this, more extreme punishment is needed

First of all, this is disgraceful. I am ashamed of the way Miami handled it.

I was at the game. FIU started it, there is NO DOUBT. Both teams have ghetto-ass Northwest Dade and Opa Locka thugs on their roster. FIU is known for being dirty. They are rejects. Recipe for disaster.

I'm not saying it was right, Miami's reaction was WAAAAAAAYYY too extreme against piss-ant FIU. FIU was playing dirty from the start because they are desperate, but Miami should have shown some restraint.

But if you're going to tell me that players at <insert your favorite team> wouldn't fight when their kicker and holder (185 pound string beans) are getting tossed and kicked- to say they wouldn't fight- you are insane. Don't be self-righteous. Every team has its brainless thugs.

Miami should know to show restraint, especially considering they have a target on their chest. They carry a lot of baggage from the past, they are high-profile, and how the media loves to make them out to be the bad guys.

Jon Beason, UM linebacker, said it best when he said "Why should we go fight FIU? They are FIU. Who are these guys? I'm not behaving like that."

Too bad 12 of his teammates didn't see that rationale. STUPID.
