I don't understand how chuck's house can sit on only 1.24 acres of land. The picture of his house and driveway appears to take up at least 3 acres, and that's only if the edge of his property line extends 10 feet past each side of the house. There's no way I would buy a house like that and not own at least 100-200 feet around me in every direction to provide a buffer.

I think your perception of what an acre is is way off.

also, the picture is misleading, you should see it in person.

The picture is as accurate as it's going to be! No need to see it in person. That house, I'm willing to bet is on 3 acres. The picture illustrates this. Fact.

I don't need to see these kids in real life. It's obvious that the girl is some sort of freaky quarter-sized child. Fact.

considering that my dad is a land surveyor and that I've been working around either his crew or other surveying/engineering crews since I was 6, I'd say I have a good idea of what an acre of land looks like (roughly 210 feet by 210 feet). Considering that Amato's house appears to be almost 200ft long, and that his driveway from where the cameraman is standing appears to be at least 200ft from the back of the house, then his lot lines either run right at the 10ft distance off the house or the rest of the property is tied up in some sort of tax shelter under a different name/holding.

[Edited on November 10, 2006 at 5:56 PM. Reason : I hope whatever alumni set up that arrangement is pissed off at himself for doing so.]

i pass his house multiple times a day. the lot isnt that wide, the house doesnt sit very far from the street... it doesnt look like 3 acres. in fact it doesnt even look over an acre, the property must go back a ways behind the hosue.

[Edited on November 10, 2006 at 6:02 PM. Reason : driveway is not 200 ft]

3 acres would be a 300'x400' lot.

[Edited on November 10, 2006 at 6:04 PM. Reason : 200ft from the back of the house to the front of the driveway.]

its not 300' wide and unless it goes back behind the house a way its not 400' deep

i dont know why we are arguing, here:

i guess it does go back a ways behind the house

if you look at the aerial photography, you'll see that Amato's driveway encroaches heavily on the 45 ft. strip of land for a future driveway to the lot behind his house. no wonder it looks bigger; he's encroaching on someone else's property.

[Edited on November 10, 2006 at 7:53 PM. Reason : he might have plans for a joint use driveway easement with the neighbor. his neighbors have that]

it's actually in a "subdivision" and the first part of his driveway is kind of a road into the back lots, you can see that his actual driveway veers off of the "road". It's going to be similar to how the two other houses to the north of his has their driveways..
