i really dont want to suffer through the overblown hype of another subway series

He had a cortizone shot into his spine. He is just fine now..First game on the dockett today is A's @ Twins at 1PM on ESPN and ESPNHD. Johan Santana is 12-0 at home and Barry Zito is just as unhittable when he is on his game.I'm predicting a 4-2 Twins victory.Next is the Dodgers @ Mets @ 4PM on ESPN. Glavine vs. Maddux. I like the Dodgers in this one...I just think Maddux is a better big-game pitcher. 6-5 L.A.And in the late game, Tigers @ Yankees at 8PM on Fox, Nate Robertson will face off against Chien Ming Wang. The only other time the yankees featured these 9 players in the lineup at the same time, they scored 15 runs in the first 5 innings, and then took everyone out. I say it gets ugly quick.... 13-4 Yankees is the final.

Maddux is pitching Game 3. The Dodgers MUST win Game 1 if they have a chance. Kuo is pitching Game 2 which is pretty fucking dumb imo.. Yeah, the Mets have had a bit of trouble versus LHP but this is the playoffs.. in New York.. and they are starting a 1-4 rookie with a 4.50 ERA...^ and Game 1 isn't even until tomorrow
10/3/2006 10:25:33 AM
Oh i guess I got some mistaken info about maddux ....my bad. That changes my pick...Mets tonight.
10/3/2006 10:44:22 AM
again, the mets do not play tonight
10/3/2006 10:47:11 AM
Not gonna lie, I'm pretty happy at least the NYY/DET game is on Fox since I don't have cable. Should be the best matchup this go-around.
10/3/2006 10:53:45 AM
^ I dont know if that will be much of a series. I think the yanks will clobber them.A-Rod hitting 6th is a big story in NY, but I kind of agree with it. He hasnt done shit in the playoffs since the ALDS of 2004Also worth noting that he is 6-for-19 off of tonight's starter, Nate Robinson
10/3/2006 11:09:28 AM
is there any where i can get a live feed to listen to the A's game at work

Johan versus Zito....this series I think will end up being the best.If Harden was 100% I think the As could win....the Twins homefield advantage will win for them.Whoever wins game 1 today between STL/SD I think will win the series.

Oh, that is pleasant news. El Duque is out with a calf injury. Gotta love having 3/5ths of your preseason rotation, including your ace and #2, hurt... lovely.
10/3/2006 2:53:15 PM
The NL should just play for a AAAA championship and they should let the AL pull 6 teams for the real MLB postseason.
10/3/2006 3:16:54 PM
AHA
10/3/2006 3:17:51 PM
the big hurt crankin 2 out is the big news todaysome people just never age
10/3/2006 3:18:31 PM
He really came on this year... started off slow and now I wouldn't be surprised if starts getting some IBBs.
10/3/2006 3:19:08 PM
A's lead series 1-0
10/3/2006 3:32:14 PM
twins got their work cut out ahead of them. they need to pick up at least 1 in oakland to stay alive.
10/3/2006 3:34:42 PM
Haha.. the rotation is going to be likely:John MaineTom GlavineSteve TrachselOliver Perezyikes. Well, the bats better be alive or they aren't winning this series. I still think they definitely can but losing El Duque hurts.. a lot. They won 97 games in the reg. season using 16 different starters.. Oliver Perez better fucking throw one of his amazing games and not a stinker.V he isn't even DEFINITELY out yet but it would be for this series.. strained calf[Edited on October 3, 2006 at 4:00 PM. i just got back from class and apparently hernandez is also gone, ouchthey just became the third best pitching staff left in the NL, maybe the fourthnm i see it, gotcha[Edited on October 3, 2006 at 4:01 PM. Reason : ]
10/3/2006 3:58:56 PM
Let's Go Tigers!^ 3rd best rotation. not staff. the bullpen is, bar none, the best in the NL.. and they still have the best lineup.[Edited on October 3, 2006 at 7:36 PM. Reason : x]

FYI for those who care. El Duque's MRI came back negative. He will be the Game 4 starter. It's John Maine, Tom Glavine, Steve Trachsel, El Duque for the Mets. Still got a punchers shot.V well most of the time on on a computer is at work and I can't have it there.. once I get my laptop up and running again I'll be on...[Edited on October 3, 2006 at 10:09 PM. Day 1 recap:A's beat Twins...lead 1-0Cards beat Pads... Lead 1-0Yankees beat Tigers... lead 1-0
10/4/2006 9:12:31 AM
El Duque says he wants to pitch today. The Mets are going to be rolling the dice no matter what they do. If they start him today and he does poorly, well shit. If they start him today and he does OK, good--it saves them from using another starter. Keeping him for game 4 is stupid when game 4 may not even happen. But hey... we'll see.

10/4/2006 10:12:19 AM
NYM, is Duque out for the whole postseason or just this round?
10/4/2006 12:48:20 PM
This round, for now.
10/4/2006 12:48:44 PM
Looks like Minnesota forgot to bring their bats to the postseason.Esteban? Come on, you gotta hit him.
10/4/2006 2:48:23 PM
the mets lineup looks pretty good. that was a bomb that Delgado hit.
10/4/2006 5:33:22 PM
4.1 IP for maine? wtf? what'd I miss

10/5/2006 9:30:01 AM
^^ yeah, the Angels were definitely better. I agree.I was talking about the playoffs. Actually, the Twins had a great bullpen in the regular season too but the Mets/Twins are definitely 1a and 1b...
10/5/2006 10:28:24 AM
any picks for the Yanks v. Tigers game today? I say verlander gets wild....one, because he is a power pitcher with a lot of adrenaline for the playoffs, and 2, because he hasnt pitched in a long time...I say the yanks get him early....5 runs by the 3rd inning before he settles down, but moose dominates.5-2 yankees.Cano is my pick for offensive star of the game.
10/5/2006 11:51:58 AM
4-3 tigersyanks get 2 runs off of todd jones in the 9th
10/5/2006 1:00:24 PM
I feel bad for A-Rod; god he looks lost.Oh and if the Dodgers didn't play last night I'd say the Tigers are probably the worst situational hitting and baserunning playoff team in history.. they look BAD. If A-Rod could swing the bat this game would be over..[Edited on October 5, 2006 at 2:58 PM. Reason : thought that was a big hr... 3-3]
10/5/2006 2:55:43 PM
need a quick inning from moose.
10/5/2006 3:15:02 PM
granderson is going to be a great #2 hitter when he gets more comfortable taking pitches.
10/5/2006 3:27:01 PM
ut oh, here comes Zumaya. if jeter gets on, i like our chances, but jeter has trouble with really hard throwers sometimes.
10/5/2006 3:34:18 PM
They started getting the runners over and all but they really could have used that insurance run on 3rd w/ 1 out.. bullpen is tough for det though.
10/5/2006 3:35:06 PM
GODDAMN WE NEED A RALLY HERE. Sheffield vs. Zumaya will be a good matchup.
