ITS TRUE BECAUSE I SAW IT ON YOUTUBE
10/2/2006 11:28:10 AM
why dont you do a little research on Gore and his businesses in Tennessee before you make yourself look more retarded
10/2/2006 11:29:37 AM
YOUTUBE DOESNT LIE
10/2/2006 11:30:14 AM
i guess CNN and the Associated Press and local Tennessee newspapers have been telling lies for years and years and years also
10/2/2006 11:34:20 AM
what in the hell do stripmines have to do with the fact that drudge is full of shit?

op-eds aren't news. sorry. try again.
10/2/2006 11:42:21 AM
10/2/2006 11:43:35 AM
he's doing this for money. He doesn't care about green issues or he would live his life to reflect it. Gore is laughing all the way to the bank with these idiots who subscribe to this junk science.Just like John Kerry was pro-environment.While in Detroit, Motor City USA, he fielded a question about which vehicles he drives, "oh I have a big ole expedition. I have a PT cruiser. I have a Silverado."Yeah...[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 11:45 AM. Reason : .]
10/2/2006 11:44:12 AM
yes. he was doing this for the money when he was in the senate too.[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 11:47 AM. Reason : and who brought john kerry into this?!]
10/2/2006 11:46:51 AM
one google search produced plenty of linkshis zinc mine operation had been fined numerous times for polluting the cumberland river and caney fork river in TN...including twice in 96 when he was running for re-electionbut I guess you libs are blind to the fact that these "heroes" of yours only care about themselves and whatever gets them some votes
10/2/2006 11:47:46 AM
yes...all politicians like to make money and get power...republicans and democrats...not just one party...thats why theyre politicians...to make moneyboonedocks where ya at?
10/2/2006 11:48:03 AM
Attacking the op-ed itself is stupid. Attack the facts in it. Are any of them wrong?I'm waiting for just one person on the left side of the aisle to go "WTF Gore, you gotta live carbon-neutral if you say you do"That's all I'm looking for.
10/2/2006 11:56:26 AM
won't happen.I DID NOT HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THAT WOMAN!There is no personal responsibility in the liberal realm of moral relativity.[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 11:58 AM. Reason : .]
10/2/2006 11:58:08 AM
but democrats are never hipocrites..they only want whats best for the people and the enviroment!!!
10/2/2006 11:58:56 AM
Gore is an idiot if he believes this...
10/2/2006 12:01:39 PM
so just to get this settled: the original article posted is completely unconfirmed and most likely either a) totally false b) taken out of conext or c) exaggerated.as for gore: perhaps he's a hypocrite. but even if he is: how does this make what he's arguing for any less important?
10/2/2006 12:32:56 PM
10/2/2006 12:35:08 PM
dude, there are plenty of articles out thereI just posted the first thing that cam eup in googleyou don't have to believe it if you don't want tobut the fact is that he is not as "green" as he wants everyone else to betypical politican "I'm allowed to do this, but you can't" crap
10/2/2006 12:36:05 PM
how about this: fuck gore, not the environment.
10/2/2006 12:36:24 PM
^i think thats kinda what everyone was thinking in the first place, maybe wrong though
10/2/2006 12:37:06 PM
BUTeven if gore has done things that are harmful to the environment, he has obviously helped some by putting this in the forefront of national political conversation in a time where that seemed pretty impossible.
10/2/2006 12:38:25 PM
but at the same time he was doing whatever he pleased to make money???and preaching enviroment to get votes???how is that OK?
10/2/2006 12:39:28 PM
that's not okay. but it doesn't mean that he didn't help things on the larger scale.
10/2/2006 12:40:11 PM
he was going to try to ban internal combustion motors on anything that wasn't a highway... thereby fucking average americans... all the while he polluted rivers at a rate that boats could never have polluted
10/2/2006 12:41:55 PM
10/2/2006 12:42:28 PM
look up all the roadless initiative stuff... I read the article about it years ago back when he was running for presI wonder why that story didn't make a big splashthis guy felt that non highway internal combustion motors were unnecessary... wanted to include stuff like lawn mowers, chainsaws, dirt bikes, boats, etc etc
10/2/2006 12:47:59 PM
why don't you find the source?[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 12:49 PM. Reason : seeing as how you claimed it and all]
10/2/2006 12:48:44 PM
I don't feel like it... I already looked it up the other daynot like you'd believe anything posted anywayshow about you do some research about your favorite politician
10/2/2006 12:50:30 PM
i just did a search and all that came up were sites like "ihatefagsandtheenvirnoment.org"
10/2/2006 12:51:35 PM
Wait... Al Gore is against mining? When did that occur? I could have sworn that had nothing at all to do with the subject at hand. And the mine operating on his family's property had an environmental code violation!? Oh. my. goodness. hypocrite. You guys will lap up anything said about him, won't you?
10/2/2006 12:52:04 PM
10/2/2006 12:52:36 PM
yeah... sounds like you searched for itbecause I think Al Gore is a tool I hate the enviroment right?the mining operation had more than one violation of polluting the local rivers2 in one year (96)[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 12:55 PM. Reason : .]
10/2/2006 12:53:56 PM
so can this thread die since the topic that it's about is most likely complete bullshit.i did search:http://www.google.com/search?q=roadless+initiative+goreand the whole first page is republican think tanks and snowmobile pages.i even went to the first two links and didn't see anything about not being able to drive internal combustion engines off the highway. all it talked about was decommisioning unnecessary roads.[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 12:57 PM. Reason : .]
10/2/2006 12:54:20 PM
I did do a little research. There were dozens of google hits for it. all referencing the same USA Today Op-Ed piece written by a guy from teh Hoover Institute. Forgive me if I'm a little bit skeptical, since I'm arguing against people dumb enough to still asert that Al Gore claimed he invented the internets.
10/2/2006 12:55:17 PM
^^can this thread die since its not bush bashing and its not pumping up gore as a great american hero?[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 12:55 PM. Reason : ^^]
10/2/2006 12:55:32 PM
all that you guys are doing is bringing up random gore-bashing because drudge is full of shit.
10/2/2006 12:58:38 PM
so you're denying the EPA violations and the IRS reports that showed he profited from the mineeven gore isn't denying themONCE AGAIN LIBS
10/2/2006 12:58:46 PM
are you delusional? who has been defending this?
10/2/2006 1:01:51 PM
you and boonedocksand libs in generalby discrediting everything instead of being like, yeah, politicans ARE hippocritical toolbags[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 1:03 PM. Reason : .]
10/2/2006 1:02:41 PM
not like i said fuck gore or anything.[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 1:05 PM. Reason : .]
10/2/2006 1:04:07 PM
I can't agree with that... and I pretty much think bush sucks, but I guess he had to deal with the hand he was dealtyeah true[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 1:05 PM. Reason : .]
10/2/2006 1:05:21 PM
^i edited that out because i think there were better candidates that didn't make it past their primaries.[Edited on October 2, 2006 at 1:06 PM. Reason : but gore>kerry>>>>>>bush]
10/2/2006 1:06:22 PM
oh ok... yeah, I figured that was it...well sir, I value your opinion but I respectfully disagree [Edited on October 2, 2006 at 1:53 PM. Reason : .]
10/2/2006 1:53:07 PM
I'm not a fan of Gore, but he's a good guy, and you all will believe anything that's said about him.1. Show me where Gore said he was against zinc mining2. Show me a mine that's never been fined by teh EPA
10/2/2006 3:40:11 PM
10/2/2006 3:50:50 PM

And environmentalists' desire to protect the environment mandates that absolutely no economic activity can occur, because we're all a bunch of irrational liberials.
