^yeah, the acting might be great...(and don't get me wrong, I have HIGH hopes for this film and can't wait)but according to our booker it suffers from being way too long and having about 5 endings...think LOTR : Return of the King
11/7/2006 12:20:30 AM
multiple reviews say best bond since connery.only neg says it's a "backwards" movie, with bond waiting til the end to say Bond, James Bond
11/7/2006 12:35:58 AM
isn't this meant as a sort of beginning and how the 007 name develops? so wouldn't it follow that he waits until the end to say the catchphrase so dear to the series?
11/7/2006 1:06:26 AM
^yeah, that can make sense.I mean, I imagine he has to start saying it that sometime... might as well be at the end of this film
11/7/2006 1:18:21 AM
yea one review i read said that when someone asks him whether he'd like his drink shaken or stirred, he says "does it look like i give a damn?" kinda goes into the backward motif[Edited on November 7, 2006 at 1:42 AM. Reason : .]
11/7/2006 1:42:01 AM
i hope this film is a lot more dark and gritty
11/7/2006 3:48:34 AM

I actually thought TWINE had some potential--kidnapping M, an excellent female villian. It was kind of ruined by claustrophobic, boring, and ridiculous action scenes. Oh, and Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist. DAD was another story. I think that Brosnan's attempts to do a realistic, suffering Bond combined with the cheese factor of invisible cars just had me scratching my head.I'm very much looking forward to this one. Loved the original books, so here's hoping it holds up.

twine was decent enough, die another day was ok..goldeneye was still the best brosnan flick, and Casino Royale is being said to be better than that... I'm excited.
11/8/2006 10:59:39 AM
^^we will be able to at some point.

i can't wait to see this moviei hope they bring it back like connery use to do it
11/8/2006 2:28:18 PM
The best connery movie (IMHO) was From Russia with Love. But the thing here is I think they need to completely re-invent Bond.Just like they did Batman. It is a different world now than when Connery played the role.I think they (producers-directors-writers) had burned out then recycled the same formulafor 3 fucking decades!eg: Bond fucks girl. chase insues.intro. Bond gets called in to office. Throws hat on hook. gets new gadget and pisses off Q by touching his toys. Bond fucks another girl. Girl dies. over the top car chase. Bond fucks another girl. Fight. Kills bad guy. Bond fucks girl again. credits.
11/8/2006 3:38:15 PM
^this movie is probably still going to be close to that formula.bond becomes a double o agent... bond gets some kind of gadget (not as cool or as many as previous films), bond goes on mission, bond meets hottie, someone will get betrayed, bond falls in love with hottie, bond gets in over his head, girl dies, bond goes after bad guy,... bad guy dies... bond promises to only use women for sex and to help his mission, and never again for love, and thus turns into a bad ass pimp.[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 3:53 PM. i want gadgets
11/8/2006 4:39:38 PM

11/12/2006 2:12:30 PM
oh shitonly 4 more days
11/13/2006 2:45:24 PM
Your file shows no kills, . . . to become a double-O you need . . . . two. . . You need to worry, the second is . . BAM! . . . Yes Considerably.Ha! That is just cold.

11/14/2006 1:17:57 AM
and to make things worse, craig lindsay (critic for the N&O) watched it too, he will probably make it sound worse than it is.I'm just looking forward to see the rest of it (couldn't watch the entire thing uninterrupted) this weekend
11/14/2006 6:03:43 PM
bump because you guys get to watch this tomorrow
11/16/2006 3:25:50 PM
having watched the rest of the movie, and filling in the blanks, I liked it, but still agree with my earlier posts.Chris, what about you?
11/17/2006 1:04:36 AM

11/17/2006 1:05:37 AM

11/17/2006 1:32:52 AM
Still at 95% over at rottentomatoes. I'm definitely seeing this tomorrow. Prolly catch the matinee.
11/17/2006 1:56:38 AM
Daniel Craig is a fine actor and I'm sure that the film will be good and all, but I just can't see him as a Bond. He just doesn't look like one.
11/17/2006 8:35:57 AM
Why? Just wondering why you can't see him playing Bond. Sounds like from the reviews, he's fine playing Bond.
11/17/2006 11:20:06 AM
he was great as bond and remember this is earlier in the time period of bonds...great movie and cast
11/17/2006 11:28:43 AM
yeah, i thought he was an awesome fan.and yes. dnl, i am a really big fan of Bond
11/17/2006 6:43:35 PM
Saw it tonight, this film is outstanding.
11/17/2006 11:31:24 PM
My little brother accidentally took my wallet to school and ruined my afternoon date Anyway, with the whole noodity thing, does it happen to the bond girls, bond, or is it one of those things where the camera hides it all?
11/17/2006 11:43:55 PM
^ It's Bond, but the camera hides everything
11/18/2006 1:26:01 AM
the movie was fantastic.
11/18/2006 1:29:19 AM
Yeah, it was fucking great.Got tired of the Sony product placements, but that's my only bitch.
11/18/2006 1:43:06 AM
I saw it tonight and I was blown away. Way better than I had hoped, and I was even expecting a decent movie. My only two complaints are:1: You can literally play Count the Product Placement as you go through the movie. More than just Sony, although it's the most obvious. 2: I caught myself wondering at one point "Holy shit.. this movie is long as shit!"but those are very nitpicky. I like how you don't hear him use the "Bond, James Bond" line til the very last scene...
11/18/2006 2:12:01 AM
I was really impressed... much better than my expectations as well.I think craig is more of a bond than say , pierce brosnan. I just think cockiness and self-assuredness seems more natural in craig whereas other bonds, I felt like they were acting cocky."wtf bond drives a ford ?" anyone else have that moment ?[Edited on November 18, 2006 at 2:16 AM. 11/18/2006 2:15:58 AM

11/18/2006 2:21:40 AM
