aside from all the childishness, Bush still has alot to prove. He has to earn his keep, so far he is moving at a slow but steady pace.
9/27/2006 12:54:10 AM
He only has 34 carries because he is a rookie and they have a very solid RB in front of him. He isn't going to be made a wide receiver, thats stupid. Take a look at LT, hes had over 100 catches before in a season. Jesus, you want to make LT a damn wide receiver? This thread is so dumb, hes played 3 damn games, and isn't even the featured back. Hes on pace for over 1300 total yards. As far as this shit about losing yards, see Barry Sanders. He ran around a lot too, but he still managed to be an alright running back. As for TDs, they will come. That is not a good way to judge a player though. Bettis had 3tds in a game, and ran for 3 yards. According to the TD logic thats an amazing game, but he just fell forward from the 1 yard line. I don't know if the guy is going to be good or not, but to make firm statements one way or the other after 3 games is rediculous.
9/27/2006 1:05:27 AM
God you guys are fucking dense. Touchdowns? Is that really what we're arguing about here???Does Tiki Barber suck too? He hasnt scored yet...Stephen Davis was one of the most worthless RB's in the league last year and he scored like 11 TD's.Newsflash like half of the teams in the league have a different guy that they use for goaline carries.Jesus christ if rushing TD's are all that matter I guess Moe Williams is a hall of famer. You guys are absolute clowns, Reggie Bush is SPLITTING carries and is being used kinda like Brian Westbrook. He's on pace for a lot of yards and he looks fucking good. You find the post where I said he'd be a 2,000 yard back this season, good luck. And any prediction I made ~6 months ago was when I assumed he'd be drafted by the Texans (like EVERYONE was thinking at the time) and be the featured back. Not stuck splitting carries with one of the better RB's in the game Deuce McAllister.Reggie is already proving he can do the thing that all of you idiots said he couldn't do, RUN BETWEEN THE TACKLES. He is gaining yards and he looks good doing it. Why do you guys still have teenage angst and have to hate on every good player? grow up alreadyMario Williams looks like shit after three games. I'm not going around saying he's a bust already... but you wanna talk about Bush being a bust after three good (not spectacular) games? The Saints went 3-13 last year. This year they are 3-0. What do you want from the guy?[Edited on September 27, 2006 at 9:34 AM. Reason : a]
9/27/2006 9:32:35 AM
9/27/2006 9:49:37 AM
he's never gonna be a 2k yards back....
9/27/2006 10:55:58 AM
Neither has anyone else in history aside from Barry Sanders, Terrell Davis, Jamal Lewis, Eric Dickerson, and OJ SimpsonHe will probly never be a 30 carry type of guy because he's much more valuable to a team as a dual threat option, a la Westbrook, as rally mentioned, or Marshall FaulkAn ideal season for him when he becomes the primary running back would be in the neighborhood or 13-1500 yards, with 60-70 catches for 6-800 yards. He has a chance to be a 1000-1000 guy, something only Faulk has accomplished. Charlie Garner had 900-900 a few years ago.Touchdowns will always be a wildcard with him because he may not get the ball inside the 5 as often as guys like LJ, Alexander and LT2. But its just a matter of time before he breaks a 70 yarder this year, its just not gonna happen every week when you're playing the Panthers and Falcons instead of the Beavers and Sun Devils.
9/27/2006 11:06:13 AM
6 months ago rally you would have argued that he would have been a STARTER and not splitting carries6 months ago you DID say that he would have 1,000 yrds no matter who he was withand its not all about TD's. I would have expected him to have more rushing yards with all the hype. And then you make the lame comparison about tiki barber, he has already proved himself. He has not proved that he can run between the tackles, in that case he would have scored the other night from the 2 yard line.Im not saying this guy is a bust. I knew what type of back he was in college, and I made my predictions then. So far im correct about him. Criticize me for not falling into the hype machine.
9/27/2006 11:58:15 AM
nobody that i know of is saying he is a bustthey just dont believe the overhype

Bush plays on a 3-0 team. Young can't even see the field for a 0-3 team that MIGHT win 3 games all year. I mean Kerry Collins is starting over him.But theone doesn't want to talk about his beloved hero.
9/27/2006 12:56:56 PM
why does rally have a hardon for every good player? grow up already

Bush does need to pick up the pace if he's to prove he is worth $51 (26.2 garunteed) mil over 6 years. To put it in perspective, Reggie Bush is averaging 3.3 ypcarry and 8.1 ypcatch with 1 td through 5 games. Last year Domanick Davis (the Texans were ridicauled for saying they would be as well off with him as they would with Bush) Averaged 4.2ypcarry and 8.6 ypcatch with 6 tds and I garuntee he wasn't making 8.5 mil that year. And before anyone says that Bush does'nt get as many carries as Davis did, Bush is on pace to carry the ball 180 times which is plenty for him to get his average up and only 50 less than Davis had a year ago. So the Saints Spent 51 mil on production they could have gotton for a quarter of the price, probably less. Its still too early to make any proclamations, Bush may turn out to be a fine NFL Back. But as of now he is mediocre.

haha, people are in such denial. Who gives a shit if he isn't the best when he's set up as a halfback... the guys is a fucking gamechanger... It's the same argument with Vick. People are so obsessed with defined roles that when they see a guy who is awesome in different ways they can't accept it..[Edited on October 8, 2006 at 7:55 PM. Reason : x]

reggie is still "raw" in the fact that he is still learning, but he will be absloutely unbelieveable in 2-3 yearsif you watch saints games, which i have for the most part when available, he is trying TOO hard. he sees nothing right away b/t the tackles and immediately darts outside to try and do something when he has no blocking out there at all. he will learn that 2 yards is ok sometimes in the NFL.. look at LT, he will go 2,2,3,2,2,3 for six carries wear down a d and then use that speed and go 12,14,11,8 and so on. when bush has a crease he gets 10 yards in half a second. he will learn. u have to give him time. he will be great though. as a rb and a wr.
