Fresh, ripe peaches at the Farmer's Market are about as good as it gets.
4/15/2007 10:56:08 PM
I'm a fan of both restaurants. The octagonal one is awesome for breakfast food, and we go to the seafood one probably every couple weeks for lunch. Good food and cheap for the amount you get, at least IMO.
4/15/2007 11:12:05 PM
For those of you wanting peaches, this will be a bad year because of the late freeze.
4/16/2007 8:30:49 AM
i need to just go ahead and buy 3 quarts of strawberries next time...might actually last a couple daysmake some strawberry rhubarb pie or something
4/16/2007 7:16:43 PM
just go for a little drive and pick your own in a couple weeks but that is hoping that the late freeze didn't ruin everything.

fyi, don't assume that just because it's the farmers market it's local. You'd be suprised from how far away some of that food comes. If you really want to be sure, you should ask the seller. As for price, most things are cheaper, and many things are better quality, but again don't just assume. I do think that most of the berries and fruit is better. I love the bell peppers, you can't beat the price and taste. But other things, i've found better at the grocery store, actually, tomatoes are usually a suprising dissapointment, compared to 'on the vine' (which btw, when you buy them on the vine you should keep them attached to it until you use the tomatos as they keep their flavor better, and NEVER refrigirate tomatos,) but the farmers market ones are cheaper. Oh, and i've found that the nurseries' plants live longer and stay healthier, though Lowe's does give you a year money back guarantee, but it's not like you're really going to keep your receipt and bring them back if they die.
4/25/2007 3:17:52 AM
^it being local depends on what time of year it is. About the only local things there right now will be the strawberries and sweet potatoes. Give it a few more weeks and there will be a lot more local stuff.
4/25/2007 9:56:50 AM

4/28/2007 5:07:24 PM
dude this place is awesome. the veggies and fruit is so much cheaper than the grocery store. I even bought some organic strawberry lip balm. it's great.
4/29/2007 11:12:38 PM
