The chargers could have smooth sailing to the playoffs now. Denver could give them trouble. I'm hoping for a giants-chargers matchup. Chargers-colts would be nice, too -- take out the whole fucking manning family. Mon 9/11 at Oakland W 27-0 Sun 9/17 Tennessee W 40-7 bye Sun 10/1 at Baltimore L 13-16 Sun 10/8 Pittsburgh W 23-13 Sun 10/15 at San Francisco W 48-19 Sun 10/22 at Kansas City 1:00 pm Sun 10/29 St. Louis 4:05 pm Sun 11/5 Cleveland 4:15 pm Sun 11/12 at Cincinnati 1:00 pm Sun 11/19 at Denver 4:15 pm Sun 11/26 Oakland 4:05 pm Sun 12/3 at Buffalo 1:00 pm Sun 12/10 Denver 4:15 pm Sun 12/17 Kansas City 4:05 pm Sun 12/24 at Seattle 4:15 pm Sun 12/31 Arizona 4:15 pm[Edited on October 16, 2006 at 12:22 AM. What's the bold mean?
10/16/2006 12:21:17 AM
hard games left im guessing, though denver is oddly not bolded
10/16/2006 12:22:45 AM
^I debated that, but at the end of the day, I think offense beats the chargers. The chargers secondary is somewhat suspect. Denver doesn't have the fire power.[Edited on October 16, 2006 at 12:24 AM. Reason : sdfs]

I wouldn't pencil in @KC as a win yet. Arrowhead is always tough and the Chiefs are starting to play better under Huard.
10/16/2006 12:35:46 AM
^Huard and the Chiefs looked like shit today. But they're pissed, and they are gonna play like it next week. Larry Johnson was the only RB to run over the Chargers last year, and I really don't want to see it again.^^Earl, stats aren't everything. Last year SD's secondary was horrible, and they haven't really added anybody except McCree. They are probably vulnerable to a top passing attack, they just haven't been exposed yet this year. How the fuck is a road game against Denver not one of the toughest games left on the schedule? Denver is clearly one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the AFC, and they are very fucking tough at Mile High.St. Louis and Cinci have been very average so far. Beating the Rams at home should not be a problem. Palmer and the Bengals might pose a problem, but they don't appear to be the offensive juggernauts that they were last year.[Edited on October 16, 2006 at 12:39 AM. Reason : 2]

^^^I expected the dumbest poster in sports talk to post shit like that. Do YOU follow pro football? Let's look at the facts: Mon 9/11 at Oakland W 27-0 Sun 9/17 Tennessee W 40-7 bye Sun 10/1 at Baltimore L 13-16 Sun 10/8 Pittsburgh W 23-13 Sun 10/15 at San Francisco W 48-19All shitty offenses. Not one of those teams counts as a test of their secondary. Another "great" defense that had only played shit offenses was exposed today. The chargers are in the same boat.[Edited on October 16, 2006 at 12:40 AM. Reason : ^we'll see. I agree they are one of the harder ones, but I just don't think the denver O wil step up]
10/16/2006 12:38:30 AM
Well, the Chargers run D is tops in the NFL and it's gonna stay that way. That front 7 is the best in the NFL, with the only possible exception being the Bears. But yeah, I could easily see that secondary falling apart against a top passing attack. Alex Smith was tearing it apart in the first half before they made adjustments.
10/16/2006 12:42:16 AM
Tomlinson stiff-arm against Sammy Davis, a whiny backup on the Chargers last year who got traded to the 9ers.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fMUj3W9TMA

billy volek has moved up to the #2 backup spot.

Chargers/Saints Superbowl? Rivers vs Brees? Personally, I'd take a Chargers/Panthers Superbowl (win-win situation) but I wouldn't be upset if the Saints make it either.
10/18/2006 7:33:35 PM
Im on the wagon...but I still like Panthers more
10/19/2006 4:22:40 PM
Apparently the bay area doesn't care about the chargers. That TVU player is showing the same games they are playing here.

Didn't see the game but just watched the replay on NFL Blitz. Tynes was kicking the 48 yard field goal with 10 seconds left and the lineman got called for false start. They moved it back, he re-kicked and they won. But isnt their supposed to be a 10 second runoff on false start penalties or am I missing something?
10/23/2006 12:20:14 AM
I'm not sure, but it wouldn't make a difference since they had 11 seconds on the clock.Chargers D forgot to show up today. Tony Gunzz and LJ killed them.
10/23/2006 12:48:15 AM
oh my bad.. i thought the clock said 10 seconds.. must have looked at it after the ball was kicked
