I hate studio bashing, just know that it is not usually a good idea to go for the discount place. Look around, see what the artist has done previously. Never let the price dictate your choice. If you really like someone's work, just save for a few more months. A few months of saving will result in a lifetime of you not hating yourself.

I've been with friends going to Savage and Heads before, and their work looks way better in person then the crappy pictures on the website. I don't think the owner is real good with computers. He may not do real complicated work (no portait tattoos or anything), but what he does he does well. A buddy of mine just got a tat from him and it looks great. It just depends what you're looking to get done I guess. The one definite good thing I can say about him is that he's really big into being sanitary, and he has a big speach about how your tattoo shouldn't fade if it's done carefully and whatnot. It may not have been the classiest tattoo shop I've ever visited, but it didn't leave me with a bad feeling about it either.

i have a feeling this guy running the shop is smarter than people are giving him credit forall the pics on the site weren't as horrid as the ones posted in herehe seems to do best with clean lines and colormaybe hes trying to tap into the "tramp stamp & armband" thing that wont really seem to go awayand if students are going and getting their first tat and he does a good job-- the word of mouth thing might actually work for him on campusnow as for portraits, sleeves and more detailed work-- hes not your guy, thats pretty clear but again, he never billed himself as suchas for the crooked and shitty tats-- thats partially the fault of the person getting it. most tattoos have a "template" laid down with paper before the inking begins so you can see what it's going to look likebring a friend and make sure they have a good view of it and will speak up if its crookedthe clouds & stars thing looks freehand and i would never get a freehand tattoo anyway[Edited on September 13, 2006 at 7:33 PM.
