considering how much DVD's and Cable Customers sell, I would argue that you are.

iTunes, as of Feb 2006 had 15 million total video downloads. Apple doesn't make a distinction between TV and Music Videos.

That's 30 million bucks over a year and a half.

Cable on the other hand, is a multi-BILLION dollar industry.

You aren't LEGALLY watching anything at 1080p.

I'm not watching ANYTHING at 1080p like i said above....but they are LEGAL. HD DVD's are for the most part 1080p but since the HDDVD player and TV are only 1080i then hence the 'watching in 1080i' also even if the tv and player are 1080p it would still techniclly be 1080i since HDMI isn't 1080p.

considering cable companies have been stealing your money for decades vs itunes and its type of service are still brand new. I'd say itunes is doing very well.

Quote :

and i didn't say anything about DVD's...I have more DVD's then i know what to do with...i'm just talking about cable. paying for something i'm not using or hardly using vs paying for something when i use it.

It does have some nice user interface improvements though:
- iPod software updates through iTunes instead of the seperate iPodUpdater
- Disk usage breakdown by type
- The ability to re-label your own ripped TV shows as "TV shows" and have appear under that menu
- Addition of games is pretty sweet

I haven't had time to play with it that much, but so far I like it.

DRM has been cracked
Quote :
" It's only been a day since Apple updated iTunes to version 7, but the folks over at the Hymn project have already posted a new version of a program that can be used to remove the DRM from songs purchased from it. It's an updated version of the recent release that worked with iTunes 6. I confirmed that the new 2.3 version of QTFairUse6 works fine for converting one iTunes 7 song at a time, although apparently the function for batch converting an entire library of purchased songs doesn't work. In order to convert a single song, you'd just drag it from your iTunes Music folder onto the QTFairUse6.exe file and enter "Y" in the DOS command line interface that pops up."

Yea boy, stealing my money by providing me with 75 channels and broadband internet for 30 bucks a month. Whatever shall I do

There are 1000 fold more cable subscribers than iTunes customers. Conservatively. Puts you in the mass minority.

And I hope you enjoyed blowing a half G on a HDDVD player so you could watch those 10 movies that are out on it.

haha...my HDDVD collection alone is at least twice that size...not including the 240 DVD's i have. And DVD's look a lot better on the HD DVD player then they did on a upconvert DVD player. Also...last time i checked...new HD DVD's come out ever tuesday...which makes the '10' available HDDVD's expand...

sounds to me you're just searching for bullshit to argue about, either that or you hate seeing people spend money you don't have.

There are 200 total listed for sale on Amazon. Out of which MAYBE 20 are worth renting, maybe 5 worth buying. So yes, there are about 10 HD DVD movies out worth a shit. The fact you have so many more just reiterates my impression that you surround yourself with shit to make you feel better about yourself.

No see, I have no monetary problems, I just don't buy into the American consumer whore lifestyle that you do. I spend my money on things I will remember in 30 years, not every new techno-bauble. Which is probably why last night you were sitting at home watching your HD DVD's while I was sitting in a bar in Dallas hanging out drinking with some of the fellas from the Redskins.

GG though, really.

Saving money and wasting money are two different things. HD DVD >>>>>> standard DVD's >>>>>> cable/direct tv (unless you get the goltv channel then its worth it)

well if you must know, i was at no bar in dallas...but PB's would have been more fun last night had i got to drink more than one beer. you know being $1 night and all...(i was DD) and around the corner was more fun (even though its still a run down shitty bar, its not as gehto and run down as PB's). but then i woke up and realized i had just fell asleep on my couch infront of my HDDVD player and had dreamt the whole night

Riddick
Pitch Black
Last Samurai
Full metal jacket
Swordfish
Training Day
We Were Soldiers (not the best war movie but still good)
Troy (i liked it, however not many did)
Borune Supremecy

thats just a few off the top of my head that i can name from my shelf downstairs that were worth buying. and all these movies make me feel 'good' on the inside, because i own them. or some shit like that.

Fix for Fuzzy scratchy sound in iTUNES 7

"Right-click your mouse button on the quicktime icon in your system tray, then click on quicktime preferences in the popup menu that shows up,...then click on the audio tab(it'll be on the top next to the other ones)....then change the sound out rates to the following:

rate:48kHz or less
size: 16 bit

then click the apply button on the bottom.

then restart your iTunes.

A rather simple fix but it's surprising Apple didn't come up with it on their own. Hopefully one of the Monkey's in charge of coding the most unwanted Quicktime will eventually fix the problem so it supports 24-bit sound."

I was, and I spent a grand total of 7 bucks. Had a hell of a time too, I can see why the skins lost hahaha. So see you continue to prove my point. You sat in crap bars in raleigh (which can certainly be fun at times) while I used a little of that HD DVD money to come down to Texas and ball it up.

Proves my point exactly. Full Metal Jacket and MAYBE Bourne Supremacy are worth buying. The rest are rentals at best. And I don't think I would even admit to people that I rented a couple of those.

Buying DVD's is American consumer whoredom at it's best.

Back onto itunes 7, whenever I am playing music and then more sound plays over it, such as a video game or a movie, the itunes will get horribly scratchy and distorted, and skip forward randomly.

This has never been a problem with previous versions, or any other audio program.

I like the new features and such, but this sucks, I might have to downgrade myself.

Oh come on now Noen. You're trying to prove a point based on opinion, which is just dumb.

So are you only somewhat of a consumer whore since you only consider two worth buying rather than all the others listed? Who are you to to say what someone should value and what someone shouldn't value?

I agree with you 100% about the fact that this guy is all the time making it a point to let this web site know what kinda toys he bought or what kinda lifestyle he is leading - like we all don't know all the other sordid details about his history the pretty much nullifies any kind of ego points he might get for having cool toys or taking cool trips. But lets not try to invent the rules as we go as a basis for arguing about his apathy.

well, there has to be SOME benchmark for good taste. My point was there is a big difference between a rental movie, and a movie worth purchasing (though honestly, I don't see the point in buying dvd's at all, as I've yet to watch ANY movie more than 3-4 times)

Good point though

^Yea, we had some random flyer on our door with the TWC prices marked through and specials written in, with some person to call. Called the lady, she hooked it up with time warner and we got our service.

and when the promo rate runs out, I've always just called them, told them I wanted to keep the same rate or cancel, and they have always just locked me in
