yeah, i wouldn't think so either but there was a guy in my ccp class who actually did get arrested and convicted of it. he said the cop was a dick about it too and wanted to know why he had a gun on him anyway and questioned if he was trying to impersonate a cop. sad. so i am just saying to be careful carrying open. you're better off just taking the day class and getting the ccp.

Open carry is not so much 'legal' in NC as it is 'not illegal'. As mentioned, it completely depends on where you are. The state cannot ban open carry, but local governments can. Cary banned it a while back because an old man would walk his dog everyday carrying a revolver, and people didn't like it.
