Theyl'yy only be D2, until the end of this school year than NCCU will move up to D1-AA(thank fucking God, so we can play some D1 schools here in NC)..Stadford Brown(NCCU starting QB) is a bad mofo
9/15/2006 9:44:20 PM

9/15/2006 11:10:52 PM
9/16/2006 6:06:01 PM
Yes, please do. The more you do, the more I will cue it up.
9/16/2006 6:46:09 PM
bumpI like the victory "parade" you guys did along the East concourse. Drumline is hot shit.
9/24/2006 12:30:35 PM
Let me holler at that girl that dropped the baton in the beginning
9/24/2006 12:32:56 PM
band was good last night during the whole game....glad you guys actually played most of the time.
9/24/2006 1:01:03 PM
the band was great.now if only all the students would bounce
9/24/2006 1:03:59 PM
watching the one dude on the "color guard" squad dancing is one of the funniest/most entertaining things about football games
9/24/2006 3:43:16 PM
we need for everyone to be jumping during not just that cadence but also when the band plays Twilight Zone/Mortal Kombat, and have everyone give a Ric Flair "Whooooo!"also more people need to be dancing during "Apache"[Edited on September 26, 2006 at 3:54 PM. Reason : ]

9/26/2006 7:19:00 PM
why the fuck does the band play while we're in the offensive huddle but won't do it for the other team?
9/26/2006 7:33:30 PM
why wasn't the little tuba riff played this game.
9/26/2006 7:59:51 PM
^^, are you kidding, they do that noise thing when the other teams in the huddle... where the drums just bang non stop constantly,,, you are an idiot... go to the games and you'll know this
9/27/2006 1:02:29 PM
9/28/2006 4:04:12 PM
^, ^^ they don't do that every down when we are on defense . . . only on certain "big downs"
9/28/2006 5:22:30 PM
Being a former NCSU marching band alum, and currently in grad school at NCCU(never having been in the marching band) due to my grad assistantship ...it will be SWEET to see how both bands stack up against oen another next Thurs. night......I love you Pack..but the Eagles of NCCU...well youll see for yoruself.....
9/28/2006 5:59:10 PM
On the drumline topic...There are only certain times that the band is even allowed to play, since there are all kinds of announcements and advertisements. Whenever the opposing team is close, they just try to disrupt the play-calling with noise, the same way the rest of the fans should be. Give 'em a break, they're an extremely talented group of musicians who are just doing their job. If beating drums to mess up opponents' play-calling helps us win games, I say do it.
9/29/2006 1:31:51 PM
^ bingo. And we did! Remember that false start they had? ...us, baby. We're extra careful this year however...a couple years ago we actually got a penalty flag for being too loud while the other team was about to hike. Know who gave us that flag? The same ref who called the last play at UNC and this year at Akron.[Edited on September 29, 2006 at 2:24 PM. Reason : ]

Excellent first post.
10/4/2006 5:44:38 PM
Y'all better be jumping tonight!
10/5/2006 1:41:33 PM
IT HAS BEEN DONE. Way to go, student section.
10/6/2006 1:16:04 AM
nccu's band was twice as loud as our band in the nez
10/6/2006 10:00:34 AM
i thought the nccu band was all hype. it seemed like they felt in the middle of it all, with the fans chanting wolf --- pack and them in the middle.
10/6/2006 10:16:37 AM
I think we did a great job, but I'm probably a little biased since our band does pay me...I love that the students are really starting to get in to some of our songs. I saw a lot of people jumping with us, and Apache and Hey Baby seem to go over really well, too.
10/6/2006 11:50:33 AM
10/6/2006 12:40:51 PM
Agreed. Also, I find it hard to believe they were *twice* as loud, with fewer people, and six less sousaphones.
10/6/2006 12:58:25 PM
no its true, i sat near some former band people and i heard them talking about how much louder nccu was (so it wasnt just my untrained ear)and maybe they might not win at some music festival for music quality, but none of us care about that
10/6/2006 1:36:39 PM
whateverwe played well, for our school, regardless of volume
10/6/2006 2:37:59 PM
They were pretty darn loud at times, but coming down on the field for halftime and being in front of them, I noticed that that volume was a little forced...very out of key and blasty. They did a good job though.
10/6/2006 5:59:08 PM
Well watching it from home, you both sounded well across the big screen, ...and as much as I normally haet the FSU marching band...Central's band looked and sounded great! Pack...get ready for those damn demon deacons!!
10/6/2006 7:13:55 PM
Yet another 6:30am start to game day. GO PACK!
10/14/2006 6:38:30 AM
Do you think Wake Forest is bringing their band..since it's a big game..? How are they in copariosn to State's band?
10/14/2006 11:34:00 AM
Wake brought a ~40 member band. I don't know how their full band sounds, so I can't really compare them.
10/14/2006 8:57:02 PM
thanks for the info...is the NCSU full band going to College Park Maryland with the team next week?
10/14/2006 9:58:51 PM
^No, unfortunately not. We will have the full band at UNC, and a pep band at UVA in Charlottesville.
10/14/2006 10:01:23 PM
Wake's Band normally sounds pretty decent. Yes, they have a music program and actual music majors, BUT unlike UNC music majors, Wake Forest folks aren't required to do a "term of service" in the marching program.
10/15/2006 4:46:08 PM
4am start. See y'all in Charlottesville.
10/28/2006 3:57:25 AM
While I was in the band I had the pleasure of attending each school's stadium at least once. The full band would always travel to UNC, clemson, Wake, and Im thinkin Duke when the time came up. Full band went to FSU twice I think. including the beat down of like what 77-13???? We went to maryland one time. I remember the game because we won on a last second 45+ yard field goal by damn whats his name. I saw a dude throw his TV out the window Only problem I got with the band is the variety of home halftime shows. When I was in the band we rarely played the same halftime show at home. unless we had like a thursday night game after a sat game. Seems like the past few years out of 7 home games we get what 3 different shows maybe?? The Stevie Wonder one was nice but other shows its like the songs you're playing are shit thats made up. BRING BACK CHEER WITH DANCING!!!!
10/28/2006 9:15:43 AM
They tried to bring back Cheer my second year in the Band (2002 season). Unfortunately, it'd been out for so long none of the vets that were around could remember either the dance or the unwritten changes that were verbally passed down in sectionals and stuff each year.As for the variety, the band has been doing about 3, maybe 4, shows a season since I was a freshman (2001). For every director within an ensemble there will always be changes made as they see fit based on their personal preferences and experiences.
11/1/2006 4:28:56 AM
I was in the NEZ and it looked like a lot more of the students were jumping with the band during the game. Well at least those students in the SEZ and Sec. 7 & 8. Sec. 14 & 15 didn't fill up until almost the second quarter. There were some idiots trying to start chants when we on offense. I was the main guy banging against the padding on the walls right behind the goal post. I got a few others to do it with me. It really does make a lot of noise. We need everyone on the front rows baning against that padding. I can see why GT's student section does it.
11/5/2006 5:50:00 PM
Crowd was real great last night, we are so close to being a GREAT team.
11/5/2006 7:17:30 PM
Great huh? HAHAHA
11/5/2006 8:59:33 PM
^^3-6? thats pretty close..and we have played no one this year. OUr ooc schedule is garbage. [Edited on November 5, 2006 at 9:19 PM. Reason : .]
11/5/2006 9:18:42 PM
get a new director because this one sucks.
11/5/2006 9:19:48 PM
Any reason you say that?
11/5/2006 9:59:23 PM
oh god not another thread about college marching bands.... specifically ours/sigh
11/6/2006 12:58:36 AM
off topic, but i brought my decibel meter to the game last night (forgot to bring it to the FSU game), and the highest it got was around 106-107. it was consistently around 102-103 for a lot of the defensive downs. this being at the front row of the NEZ, behind the goal post. i guessing that for the FSU game though that it probably got into the 110 and above level, b/c it seemed like it was a lot louder for that game.
