^ ^ How do you know I am not in the Army? Some of the most insightful criticism of the military comes from within, so cut me some slack.^ Still inexcusable to communicate threads and vastly stupid, especially if from a gov't computer. However, my point from earlier is that he will need less than a few months because finding someone better than this chick won't be hard. She needs to stop whining and either put the process in motion or take steps to block him from contacting her and act if it continues.

Is that your nice looking BMW in your picture gallery?
9/3/2006 4:47:57 PM
No, I photographed my neighbor's and put it in my gallery so that I could act like it was mine. I sure hope he never logs on TWW.

You obviously know too much about the military for your own good, thus adding dubriety to your claim of not ever having served.
9/3/2006 4:53:32 PM
Because only people who've actually been in the Army know about the big white stickers on their windshields.
9/3/2006 4:58:41 PM
They're not entirely white, and it's DoD.I think you just didn't understand that I was mostly just poking fun at everything typically affiliated with military drama and crap, and if you think that's not a contribution, well then get over yourself.

Thank you, chembob, and believe me you've got a friend in me even though you're a squid

I know exactly what you were doing, troll. And it doesn't change the fact that "you've contributed absolutely fucking nothing."

I offered to be your friend, and you're still insulting me.

Contact the MPs at the base he's stationed at and have CID take it from there. Don't go through the command channel--let it go through the police channels so there's less heresay, and rather hard evidence.Actually, you could probably get the same results going through ANY law enforcement agency on this one. It's not unheard of for soldiers to get arrested right off the plane coming back from a deployment.[Edited on September 3, 2006 at 5:37 PM. Reason : .]

Man, I'd post a personal story about getting someone arrested and thrown out of the Army, but I don't feel the need to post that one. But yes, he's certainly under the jurisdiction of the law. The local police can easily hand it off to the MPs and his local chain of command if he's making specific legal threats. Even if he's in Iraq, the MPs at his base can easily track him down if you give them enough information (generally, if you give them a name and a place he's stationed, they'll be able to track him down).I guess it's sort of a special case that he's in Germany, but I'd suggest taking the police route for starters rather than calling over to his company commander with "he said she said" stories. That way the police can collect evidence, track down IPs (if it's via e-mail), etc before you go into this. As it is, a lot of commanders get angry phone calls from disgruntled ex-girlfriends who just feel the need to spitefully talk to someone (yes, this gets annoying sometimes). If you can put some evidence with it, or better yet, have someone in law enforcement take care of it, it is much more credible. Don't call a company commander with a story like this because they're usually too busy to hear ex-girlfriends rat out their boyfriends with unsubstantiated stories...definitely let the legal channel do it.[Edited on September 3, 2006 at 5:47 PM. Well, as far as substantive advice is concerned, just be aware that involving the law in your private dealings is going to have significant consequences as far as your dealings with this individual are concerned. If you begin the process and these claims are adjudicated, it is very likely that there will be so much red tape between you and him that communication will be virtually impossible for the rest of your lives, and this is not an exaggeration. If you are genuinely concerned for your safety, then by all means pursue this. However, if you have other options available to you to end this situation then you should also consider those.Stop whining.

If you have proof of his threats (emails, IM chat logs, recorded phone conversation, voice mail) just go to your local magistrate and get a restraining order. Then, find out who his CO is, mail him a copy of the restraining order and tell him what he did, and ask if the CO would remind him he shouldn't be threatening civilians. Then even if he tries coming to see you, he'd already be in trouble for breaking the restraining order.
