11/2/2006 9:09:16 PM
how do you do 11, 23, 24?
11/2/2006 9:18:48 PM
For #11:Carpet Price is your Y variable (Dependent)Square Footage is your X Variable (Independent)Make 2 columns to the right of the problem titled X*Y and X^2Fill those values in, and across the bottom find the sum of each column and the average of each column.Take those values and plug them into the formulas for B and A.Once you have your "Y = Bx + A" formula, plug 280 into xY should result in the correct answer.
11/2/2006 10:13:29 PM
i must be doing something wrong...the line i get is:y = 156 + .46x
11/2/2006 10:27:15 PM
Does anybody think Top-slice Drivers problem on the test last Friday is ambiguous?3.2 is between 3 and 4, the answer is 3 but I will argue with that (why not 4?). Will anybody agree with me?
11/5/2006 11:15:46 AM
no, throughout the test you had to round, either up or down...didnt the question say "about how many" or something? plus, in the slides, the answer was 4 months when the capacity was 2300...he changed the capacity to 2250 so its not 4 months...
11/5/2006 11:58:14 AM
I guess they weren't all right, 25 is Workforce remains the same
11/7/2006 1:52:47 PM
i missed number 20 on the test and number 6
11/7/2006 3:08:27 PM
^^He changed the question on the test, or at least thats what he told me when I asked him about it.
11/7/2006 4:46:18 PM
he changed the chase to level supply, pretty jewish of him if you ask me
11/7/2006 4:54:17 PM
Still though, Favre's a dam awesome professor in my opinion. This stuff is a lot harder I heard with the other professor(s) who teach it. Favre is one of the few reasons why this semester is actually bearable for me.
11/8/2006 9:16:05 AM
5 point curve on the test
11/8/2006 10:31:47 AM
on a scale of 1-10 how difficult would yall say this class is?i gotta take this in the spring
11/8/2006 10:51:51 AM
1-10 I say this class is about a 3-4. You do as well in his class as well as you want to, aka, it's pretty much completely dependent on your work ethic. If you make an effort to go to class, study, do the homework, it's pretty easy to get an A. The workload is light, though the homework may take a while for some, but overall, i'd say it's right under being a breeze class, specially for a 300 level.haha guitar, you in class now too? This inventory management stuff is boring and I'm havin trouble payin attention.[Edited on November 8, 2006 at 10:59 AM. Reason : none]
11/8/2006 10:58:06 AM
thanks proof...thats what i was thinking- i figure if i put in the effort to get an a it shouldnt be hard-josh
11/8/2006 11:02:01 AM
its hard paying attention some days, sometimes you just dont really wanna sit through a lecture about operations but im sure i enjoy his class better than other teachers who teach it
11/8/2006 12:03:53 PM
Anybody working on HW#6? I'm having a bit of trouble filling out #3, the MRP chart if someone has some suggestions?
12/5/2006 11:36:11 PM
i have no idea, seems random to me
12/6/2006 12:18:35 AM
his notes arent any good if you havent filled them in (like me) and the book doesn't lay out all the steps so i cant figure it out. how are the planned receipts and orders calculated in?
12/6/2006 12:31:13 AM
cancel that request I just figured it out
12/6/2006 12:40:08 AM
any chance you can tell me how to do #3
12/6/2006 12:51:33 AM
NRt=Maximum (0;GRt - EIt-1 - SRt)EIt = EIt-1 + SRt + PRt - GRtNR1 = (0; 200 - 280 - 0) = 0EI1 = 280 + 0 - 200 = 80PR1 = 0PO1 = 120 (needed in week 3) i'm just guessing here... this has taken me forever....
12/6/2006 1:14:50 AM
aside from the hw due, is tomorrow gonna be some special "attend and get extra credit" day or can i not worry about it?
12/6/2006 3:41:10 AM

how do you do 8
12/14/2006 7:49:45 PM
I'm thinking #3 should be B, not C. The # of car loans would be directly *dependant* on the number of cars sold.
12/14/2006 8:07:20 PM
#8Cs=.75-.2=.55Ce=.2-.02=.18Cs/Cs+Ce .55/.55+.18=.75look up .75 on Z chart and find a Z score of .67Quantity= avg+ Z * stand dev = 200+.67*50= 233.5 or 234
12/14/2006 8:16:19 PM
^^i wasnt sure about that one either^i used .68 but same thingwhat are the formulas for 16/17...i need to remember thoseand i was always lost on that last stuff he (aka #18)
12/14/2006 8:23:21 PM
guitarguy,The formulas for 16 and 17 are the ones on the formula sheet from [14-4] and [14-5]For [14-5], E I is the same as Proj. On-hand Inv. in the chart. The way the questions are, we have to fill out the chart through week 47 because of the 2 week lead time. Week 47 tells us what to order in week 45 to answer question 17.
