it was pretty good

It was OK."Since women stopped having babies" is just funny in a British accent.
1/13/2007 2:32:01 PM
maybe the best movie of the year. i forgot everything else that came out.
1/13/2007 5:33:42 PM
im really open minded about movies, and i usually like things that other people dont like, but this movie was just mediocre
1/13/2007 7:53:00 PM
I think they presented it as more of a thought provoking movie. For instance, in the trailer it seems like Jasper is about to say thoughtful about infertility, but in the movie he was just telling a joke. Still, I thought it was really good.

1/14/2007 1:14:13 PM
^^ You have got to be kidding me
1/14/2007 1:39:18 PM
The war violence was pretty badass, better than some full-blown war movie war violence.and the flaming car scene was freaking sweet.
1/14/2007 1:53:40 PM
This and Babel are the most impressive movies ive seen this year in all aspects.
1/16/2007 11:01:30 PM
i will admiti laughed for 30 minutes straight at the conclusion of that moviei half expected a monty python song as the credits rolled
1/20/2007 12:33:47 AM
I laughed a lot throughout the movie, me and my group were some of the few laughing I especially loved the car rolling escape scene
1/20/2007 12:43:03 AM

1/20/2007 2:23:47 AM
hahahaha that's the one
1/20/2007 9:59:03 AM
Pull my finger...BAM. I laughed a little too much at that in the theater.
1/21/2007 9:01:16 PM

1/21/2007 9:11:01 PM
saw this today, Clive was great, but I think missing the first 3 minutes of the film left me partially clueless the whole way through itdoes anyone know precisely why that black fellow and his posse were trying to steal the child?[Edited on January 27, 2007 at 8:29 PM. Reason : .]
1/27/2007 8:28:07 PM
so they could use it for political power/advantage.
1/27/2007 8:32:24 PM
Saw it last night, it was awesome! I loved that some parts were absurdly funny, like when Theo tries to draw a boat on the wall. Also I noticed that dreadlock boy angrily says "He was nineteen years old!" speaking of his dead friend. It was like, in that world it's a worse crime to kill someone who's 19 because that's about as young as they get. I wasn't a fan of the CGI baby though. ]
1/27/2007 11:35:22 PM
^^ Word...the wife & I started breaking it down, and we sorta came to that conclusion eventually...good stuff
1/28/2007 1:25:36 AM
Thought it was a good movie, just didn't like the ending much. And did anyone else notice the amount of dogs in this movie? Everyone had a dog, haha.
1/28/2007 3:13:53 AM
wow i did not notice veryone had a dog
1/28/2007 3:44:33 AM
the dogs and cats are probably just something to care for, like replacements for children
1/28/2007 9:33:24 AM
The only good part was having King Crimson on the soundtrack, and the HUGE reference to Pink Floyd during the movie.I didn't like it too much, ok, but not as good as people have been saying. My hopes were high.[Edited on January 28, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Reason : .]

ok, I'm going to be "that person" and say that the book, by PD James, is really really good-- I'm going to see the movie tomorrow (now that I've finished the book), but from what I can tell it's very different from the book...for one thing, England-- thanks to the Warden and his council-- has no crime and no unrest and no violence (among many significant changes)....I'm very interested to see how the differences change the "meaning"...can anyone who's both seen the movie and read the book comment?
1/28/2007 4:17:48 PM
***SPOILERS AHEAD***Ok, i saw the movie today and I thought one of the best things about it was that it never explained why women could not have babies. It makes the movie totally interpretive as how what is causing the end of humanity. As for the political undertones in the movie, I would have to say that you're only seeing this world through Theo's perspective. He doesn't know who to trust, the Government or the Fish? He chooses neither and must trust others who have hope. Remember back to the scene where the British Army and Insurgents were fighting and paused when they saw the baby? They saw hope for a moment, but did the stop blaming each other for the infertility? No, they chose to fight on because that is the thing that has been in their mindset for 18 years.
1/29/2007 7:29:11 PM
how aboutIT SUCKED?
3/6/2007 6:54:36 PM
This movie was awesome... For the car ambush scene they said they had the cinematographer, camera holder and two others on the roof of the car. That shit is nutsIts a fucking shame the academy didn't give it best cinematography
3/6/2007 7:18:45 PM
I wish I had more handsso I could give this movie 4 thumbs down

5/13/2007 1:28:17 AM
im not criticizing anyone here, buti dont see how anyone can want to watch movies like this over and over enough to buy the DVDi mean ive liked movies in the theater, but knew that i wouldn't buy the DVD because its not the kind i'd want to watch repeatedly enough or want to share with others
5/13/2007 10:52:01 AM
IT'S CALLED OPINIONYOU SAID
5/13/2007 11:57:25 AM
5/13/2007 12:47:55 PM
i dont love any movie enough to buy it on dvd. i like variety.
5/13/2007 12:55:21 PM
yeah its too bad there isnt a variety of movies available on dvdthis one is the first
5/13/2007 1:04:11 PM
so let me get this straight. i say i dont love anything enough to buy it and potentially watch it over and over again. you suggest then that i buy even more movies so i can have variety, while watching the same things over and over again.that just doesnt compute. i like seeing old and new alike, but im not gonna buy anything because that just limits my options severely unless i buy 1000 dvd's.
5/13/2007 1:16:58 PM
most of us still go see movies or rent themit's not like we're restricted to viewing only our DVD collectionswe're not lacking in variety for owning DVDseven so, if I want to see one of my favorite movies, it's much easier to own it than renting it again and again
5/13/2007 1:20:59 PM
i wasnt trying to be nasty, just saying that i dont often want to rewatch something more than a couple times so the price doesnt really pan out for me (unless its 5 bux or less i guess).it doesnt mean i dont really love some movies, just that some people dont like watching even their favs over and over and over again.
