I kinda agree with Frosh. Except the fact that no one should EVER refer to a Nicholas Cage movie as art.NEVER.

face/off
7/21/2006 10:49:30 AM
The reason I wont' be seeing it is the fact that it looks like a gay nicholas cage movie, not to mention that we all know how it ends. Can anyone say Titanic?
7/21/2006 10:50:51 AM
dad i can't see too good- how much did titanic pull in?
7/21/2006 10:52:00 AM
I'm not going to see WTC- The Movie, because frankly I'm fucking tired of hearing about it and could care less about the towers.

I don't care how much money titanic made. Doesn't change the fact it was a gay movie.
7/21/2006 11:10:25 AM
Filmmakers don't care that it was a gay movie. Doesn't change the fact that it made money.
7/21/2006 11:13:30 AM
whoever said anything about filmmakers? I said that I wasn't going to see for the above reasons.
7/21/2006 11:14:59 AM
you didn't maybe, but that won't stop othersnevar forgetpeople actually think like that. i won't see it because i don't like paying for things.
7/21/2006 11:16:44 AM
i never saw titanic cause i always thought it looked gaybut this movie looks more exciting
7/21/2006 11:17:04 AM
i might see it just because i think that oliver stone is a genius.
7/21/2006 11:19:28 AM
First off I will see this movie. Second off I really could care less if people think its too soon, nobody is putting a gun to your head to go see it. Its not like this movie was made last week, its been known that they were doing this movie since last October.
7/21/2006 11:21:19 AM
can somebody please pull 'An Inconvenient Truth' from theaters? It's really a little too early to touch on that subject
7/21/2006 11:23:33 AM

7/21/2006 12:08:46 PM

I was gonna say I wondered how long it would take before people cashed in on 9-11but then I remembered all those kiosks selling American flags

You wanna take issue with who really profits off the bloodshed, you need to burn down the churches.

7/21/2006 5:36:11 PM
Are you kidding?
7/21/2006 5:38:19 PM
I will watch a movie about 9/11 when someone decides to tell the truth about what happened. The 9/11 Commission is BS.http://www.loosechange911.com

7/23/2006 9:34:54 PM
^^^ No, but I read an interview with the director (I think) and it was stated that a lot of emphasis was placed on TRUTH.
7/24/2006 12:23:48 AM
It has nothing to do with who carried out the attacks. It doesn't even show the planes hitting the buildings. The movie is the human story about two people buried in the rubble. Please take your ill-informed college age anti-establishment angst to another thread that is about the 9/11 commission report.

7/24/2006 1:13:12 PM

^^^ I'll donate seven bucks instead. That's better for them than a fraction of a dollar, and I don't have to watch the flick.
7/27/2006 1:45:13 AM
ill definitely go see itbut only because i heard they explain how a little bit of jet fuel made a building collapse

I have no interest in watching this movie because it's just a bunch of hacks trying to cash in on a tragedy. Millions of people will pay money to see it because they feel they have a "duty" to the victims of the attacks.

just saw a preview for this movie using the coldplay song fix you. I knew the minute i heard that song it would be appearing in a shitload of films (i think it made a trailer for king kong too).
7/31/2006 10:09:20 PM
^i was hoping they would use the song "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" by Drowning Pool for this movie trailer.

I have seen the movie in its entirety...and as a firefighter and someone who was impacted by 9/11 in more ways than one, I think it really brought the human element into view, what the families of the responders went through. Not only that but it was based on a true story, and quite frankly there was a great deal of the movie that hit home. Granted there were some parts of the movie that were a little dry I thought as a whole it was a good movie. As for the Ladder 49 comparison, yes it has some similarity to it as far as flashbacks, etc... but in Ladder 49 there is more development of the character in the flashbacks, versus just thinking about loved ones.I'd see it again and I will purchase it when released on DVD. Granted I'm not some high and mighty movie buff/reviewer, but I did like it and thought it was well put together.
