7/22/2006 11:32:36 PM
NOVA sucks.
7/23/2006 3:45:32 AM
NOVA does suck ass... only move there if you like traffic, politics, and boring people at bars.I am not sure but I do think it is ironic you guys are all bashing what is good news for our area.. we NCSU people usually brag about the smallest of things, but when a national publication states we live in one of the best places we drop our mouth and call them crazy?Idiots.. we DO live in a great place.. get off the web more and you might realize it.
7/23/2006 2:04:15 PM
^you are off with that. Most of the criticism has been of cary and the places similar to cary on that list (NOVA, columbia, md, etc.), and most of us call in to question the methodology of a list that ranks boring ass places like that so high.Just because raleigh is high on that doesn't mean we are critical of Raleigh proper.[Edited on July 23, 2006 at 2:13 PM. Reason : So, that means the idiot is....]
7/23/2006 2:13:02 PM
^ really?"good news for our area"
7/23/2006 2:20:43 PM
Cary is a boring suburb on a list of boring suburbs. Raleigh is on a list with a bunch of cool cities though.
7/23/2006 9:09:03 PM
I'll never understand why people put so much stock in "job growth" - that just drives up the cost of living for everyone.I enjoy living where I can use my money to manipulate and control those around me. I can't do that if everyone makes as much or more than I do.wolftrap's guide to moving1. get a job, then move there2. if you can't find a job there first, don't move there
7/24/2006 6:44:13 PM
Raleigh would be cooler if instead of old people moving to north raleigh it was young people moving downtown. But I guess thats the case everywhere.
7/24/2006 7:39:28 PM
if ny is the only big city on there than there arent 10 big cities and you couldnt even do that study. lets not get carried away people raliegh is a big sity
7/24/2006 11:27:10 PM
Explain to me how Raleigh is a big cityI'm dying to know
7/24/2006 11:51:04 PM
Where are you from originally?
7/24/2006 11:53:16 PM

7/25/2006 12:23:27 AM
hey I live in sunny San Diego, I could give a shit about NOVA right nowall I was saying is that Fairfax County is a lot nicer than Caryask the 1 million people who live there and enjoy one of the highest median incomes in the countryCary, NC can suck it
7/25/2006 12:27:14 AM
One million people???? Shit, that's a lot of folks.
7/25/2006 1:14:21 AM

7/25/2006 8:37:26 AM

fairfax only has about 50,000. The rest of NOVA is the other 950,000 and its where all the cab drivers live.
7/25/2006 12:50:32 PM

7/25/2006 1:05:23 PM

7/25/2006 1:37:40 PM
im not argueing about the pros and cons of fairfax and cary. i honestly dont care...i dont like either place very much.im merely saying that money does not equal happiness...something even you agreed with not too long ago.in this thread you say:
7/25/2006 1:42:08 PM
UJustWait is classic message board know it all (and I should know, because I exhibit the same characteristics from time to time).
7/25/2006 1:51:24 PM
ahahah that's funnyyou were the one who said
7/25/2006 2:01:01 PM
^ Cary has its roots, you are dead wrong there. And there is no need to hate on Raleigh because you didn't like it.NOVA and Cary are both haven for yuppies. In fact, I see nothing wrong with that. Who cares? Maybe when some of you grow up you'll realize what nice places both areas are. Instead you all look like retards fighting over which suburb is better. Get over it. Both are nice places.
7/25/2006 2:20:36 PM
i just respond to people when they talk shitthat's allpeople do the same thing when i talk shitit's all in fun/boredom
7/25/2006 2:31:27 PM

Yeah. Madison, WI is for gays I heard. Fat gay guys who love Notre Dame and the Cubs.
7/25/2006 10:12:08 PM
ahahahaha
7/25/2006 10:20:24 PM
All I know is that I have a lot of family who live in Fairfax County and we explored this topic. When they came down to visit and saw the surrounding areas, they were impressed and thought it was very nice and familiar. I pushed the limits a little and compared parts of Raleigh and Cary to Alexandria, VA. Haha, big mistake. There exists a certain degree of snobbery between the two areas although the similarities are uncanny.I agree with most of what was said here because Alexandria is older and more established. I see Cary and Northern Raleigh as a sort of "miniature Fairfax."
7/25/2006 10:24:43 PM
how many strip malls do you need, bitch?
7/25/2006 10:28:59 PM
And come to think of it, you can almost look to Alexandria to predict the future of Raleigh. They keep talking about expanding the downtown area into making it an economic center filled with attractive homes. Nobody's really thrown this word out yet, but I would suspect Raleigh is trying to create an "Olde Town" that could aspire to one day hope to give Old Town Alexandria a run for its money. That would be nice, wouldn't it?
7/25/2006 10:29:54 PM
It would be nicebut i can't exactly envision itRaleigh is in the middle of an identity crisisit can't decide whether to keep it's old school southern charm of being the state capital or exploit the tech boom and the healthcare industryNOVA is booming because its economy is tied to a business that will never go under- the Federal GovernmentRaleigh has a lot going for it, and it will be interesting to see what happens in the next 20 years
7/25/2006 10:39:11 PM
NEW YORK CITY?!?!?!
7/26/2006 8:32:00 AM
I like New York City.NYC from my understanding is ten times nicer now than what it was ten years ago and twenty times nicer than what it was twenty years ago.
