"yup, they're just bigass houses"

They are not even THAT big when you actually are in one. My folks maybe SEEMS a bit smaller because it's open floor plan but it doesn't seem much bigger then our old one in N. Raleigh..

Just wanted to say Texas is about the last state I'd consider living in.

It's that bad. Traffic, pollution, traffic, heat, traffic, NBA teams , traffic.

^^ and towns where the official language is Spanish and everything like street signs and court documents are in spanish, oil fields/refineries everywhere, big ass pickup trucks, big ass expensive tractors that get used once a year, the cowboys aren't a decent team anymore, it's the fattest state in te country, houston has no zoning laws, it's just ew.

nym410 an open floorplan doesnt make it seem smaller because open loft space doesnt count as square feet so it seems like more sq ft than it actually is.

Maybe so, but my parents new house out in California doesn't SEEM as big as our old one in NC or our smaller one in New England.

Maybe it's just the way it's built. I like the house far more then any other one we've had though..
