If Torry Holt were here last year he would have had 400 receiving yards on the season. TOPS.

i just want a QB who knows how to manage a game. he doesn't have to have 15 TD passes, just keep the int's to a minimum. its one thing to lose a game, but to give games away is what gets me.

so people on this board -honestly- felt Jay Davis or Marcus Stone would replace Philip Rivers ? A top10 ever offensive producer? at best I hoped we'd be a baltimore ravens. Win it with defense and dont fuck up much on offense... Well.... when we did that we won. When we fucked up on offense we got ass-rammed. it's not to terribly hard to figure out.we've recruited a few top flight quarterbacks 1 of which apparentally was not terribly good. hopefully the second will mature. Your hands are tied when your best players keep making mistakes. I still dont blame coaches for stupid mental errors. You can't teach people not to be morons. You can work with them and drill them and run them etc. But you can't make a decision for a player. We need quality depth at OL and other positions or we can't fucking act on problems like we had last seasonit's well and good to say, if someone cant get it right get them off the field, but if their replacement is an undersized freshman just trying to get ready for next season ...

^ see.....

^ oh I absolutly agree... but I see people here complaining about our anemic offense and saying ... well philip rivers did it ... well yes, we did when he was QB. give us his clone and I bet we'll do it again. Until then ... go ravens.

If we have a decent O line this year, which we should, we should run the ball 35 to 40 times a game with the RB's we have.
6/29/2006 10:48:47 AM
we said that last year. same about our oline.
6/29/2006 10:54:21 AM
^i'm not saying it will be great. and last year, generally speaking the more we ran (or less we passed) the better we did. And granted, the D probably won't be as good this year (last year we had a solid front 7, but unproven secondary, this year it's the other way around), but we might be suprised.

No matter how much you hate him or love him, he's obviously not the worst coach in D-I.Sure, we've underachieved a little recently, but Amato recruits well, sells well, and coaches mediocre. That does not equal an F coach in my book.

hey guys, dont leave out the most incredible and ridiculous blunder of the season...running the clock out when we were in scoring position on UNC's 15yd line with a timeout right before the half.did anyone else feel like hanging themselves from the Vaughn Towers???

I couldn't bttt the "Guess what the motto for this year's football team will be" thread, but here's my idea for a new motto:"We've got nothing to lose...except football games."
