^not going there, some place in CaryThey're going to put me under, take all 4 out, and send me home with oxycodone. The top two are eupted so they shouldn't be hard. The bottom ones are totally impacted, they will be a bitch to keep food out of and stuff. I'm not really a bleeder, so hopefully I won't bleed too long. I'm staying off milk products today because my GF had a bad time with pudding after she got hers out. So it's juice, sorbet, and soup today. Maybe ice cream tomorrow...we'll see.

bottom 2 i was out and after a day or 2 I was good to go pretty much....the top one i was awake and it took probably 5 minutes at the most not including time for the anesthetic to work.... that one though ached the longest afterward....

I'm going to be all about the advil like 5 times a day. That stuff really works well in me to keep swelling down. I think I should be ok...I'm sure I've had worse before.
9/29/2006 10:51:48 AM
just take what they prescribe for you.... it's not good to over use advil....

I had mine done 3 days ago at Willowdaile Family Dentistry (on top of 7 fillings and all new sealants) - they just numbed me with 4 shots of lidocaine and in 15-20 mins, all 4 teeth were out - and my top wisdom teeth hadnt even grown in yet so they had to cut them out, and believe me I was extremely conscious during the procedureThey gave me vicodin, but I figured it was pointless to take em unless I really felt pain, so Im saving them for bad timesI didnt feel any pain whatsoever the first day, nor have I really at all. My only problem has been swelling, which isnt so bad. The day after I had it done I was sick all day long though, vomiting, which sucked. The doctor thinks the blood running into my stomach made me sick, but it wasnt that bad. They feel so much better though being out, and now I can get braces :-)[Edited on September 29, 2006 at 6:18 PM. How bad was it? not badRecovery? 3 days I felt 100% (all 4 of my wisdom teeth had surfaced. only two...so the other two were dug around for and extracted)Conscious? nope i was outtime? did take long at all...felt like 20 minutes?
9/29/2006 6:22:24 PM
^ damn i was trying to say that...of the 4 of my wisdom teeth...onlyl 2 had broken through my gums and the other two were extracted after making an incision.

Ok, so I've had them out for about 24 hours now and they don't hurt so much...I'm only using advil. But the swelling is insane!! I look like I've got cheek tumors or something. I'm guessing ice packs and regular advil are the only things to keep the swelling down. Also I feel really blah, almost as if I have a temperature but I know I don't. It must be from laying around too much. I'd go somewhere but I look like really odd

i have to have all 4 wisdom teeth cut out... i havn't been to the oral surgeon yet, probly going w/in the next couple weeks... about how much is this going to cost me?
9/30/2006 2:23:12 PM
Mine was $2032...not sure how much insurance will cover. I was totally put under, the top were erupted...the bottom had to be broken up into little pieces and taken out that way
9/30/2006 3:24:30 PM
I had all 4 of mine taken out and all 4 were impacted. I took the gauze out that night and was eating solid foods the next day. I think the cost was around $1500 with the bulk being the anesthesia.
9/30/2006 4:00:40 PM
same deal herethey had to cut mine out before they grew in because they were coming in at the wrong placesnext day i had the gauze out and was playing bball, no joke
9/30/2006 4:04:31 PM
i got mine pulled way early, they could tell with the x-rays that they would need to be cut out(i had already had 4 teeth pulled due to braces and no room, so i already knew they would have to go) I didnt feel anything cause they put me under, and lucky for me no dry sockets...you will probably get them, and they are extremely painful(especially when the doc digs at them to fix them) I thought one of mine was coming in, but it turned out to be a false alarm, however, they did xrays and you could see all 4 of them at the early stages, with no roots, so they went ahead and cut them out.
9/30/2006 6:15:01 PM
Mine were 1200, paid 600 after insurance. No problems.[Edited on September 30, 2006 at 6:20 PM. Reason : ^no basis for saying she probably will get dry sockets. Just follow Dr directions, ftw]

Ok, so I'm about 48 hours post-op...the swelling is finally starting to go down a little. I still look like a chipmunk, but whatever. I drooled a little bit of red tinted drool last night, but I'm not sure if that's just the normal oozing from the surgery sites or if I should be concerned. My breath is RANK...even after brushing my teeth it's not much better. My girlfriend tolorates it, but still...when can I begin using mouth wash again?
10/1/2006 12:09:56 PM
my doctor told me that I could use any kind of mouth wash that doesnt have alcohol in it after the first day, so I've been using some Crest stuff thats blue
10/1/2006 1:01:14 PM
They gave me some locals for mine, had to break apart 2 of them, I counted them as they came out, went to work that night.
10/1/2006 1:10:19 PM
i think im fucked when i get mine taken outi have 2 extra wisdom teeth for a total of 6 its gonna be painful
10/1/2006 1:30:54 PM
Ok, so the scar tissue is making it hard to clean behind my lower molars where the wisdom teeth were impacted. I tried to floss back there but actually couldn't...the gum tissue is kinda wrapped around one side of my back molar. So I got tired of it and used a toothpick today. I picked out all kinds of stuck food...my morning apple from today, some of last night's dinner, and lots of other unrecognizable junk that had built up in the past 2 weeks. Then it started to bleed...a lot. I was worried, but the bleeding stopped and I think it was good to clean all that junk out and the bleeding was caused by bacteria build up. Hopefully it won't always be that hard to clean...
10/12/2006 2:01:11 PM
Yeah those holes are still there. I'm getting a water pick to clean them now...is it normal to have holes like that?
10/16/2006 4:54:51 PM
Call your dentist. You should have some sort of depressions until they heal, but if you're continually getting shit like that stuck in there, you might need some added help.
10/16/2006 5:43:27 PM
No problems, quick recovery.Except ...It's been a year since I got it done and I still have some slight numbness on the forward right tip of my tongue. Plus whenever I eat a candy such as a jolly rancher where you suck on the candy the bottom right part of my mouth becomes *highly* sensitive/painful immediatly to the interaction with the candy.
