Kinkajous make horrible petsi work with 2 of them (we used to have many more)they can be very dangerous. one of ours was surrendered by its previous owner after it attacked her and she spent a few days in intensive care.they have sharp teeth, large talons, are nocturnal (will keep you at night and are very grumpy and mean if woken up during the day) will need an aboral enclosure the size of your entire apartment.hard to meet nutritional needs (they live off nectar in the wild)you can come meet the 2 i care for who were both raised around humans. keepers dont even go in the cages with them. they have to be shifted to another cage or locked in den box just so we can clean their cage up.they may look like great pets and are "cool" but make horrible pets. please do your research before getting any "cool" or exotic pet. these animals havent been domesticated for 12,000 yrs (like your dogs) and dont do so well living with humans.i'd suggest:a ferret (but be forewarned about the potential for $$$ vet bills)a bearded dragon - great tempermentsuromastyx - great temperments. egyptians get to be the size of a small dog (get from a breeder)an iguana - can make great pets. will need a huge cage once fullgrown. but you can potty train them (to go in bathtub) and let them free-roam around apartment. easy diets. - theres a triangle iguana rescue. check them out. you'll already know their personalities a snake ball pythons are good beginner snakesif you want advice i'm here. i've written curriculum on exotic animals, specifically those kept as pets.

I second the hedgehog. They're cool. And the spines don't really hurt THAT much. Unless you go to grab it without warning. Or step on it I'd imagine.

hedgehogs are fun i used to own one... but they are expensive as hell if they get sick. and the spikes dont hurt much once u grow tolerant to the poison on the tips.
