EVERYBODY paints their dorm rooms. Hell, you can even leave it painted after you check out at the end of the year, facilities will paint over it.

wolfpacks22, I lived in Owen my freshman year and I loved it. Most people make their own lofts... the university is supposed to "inspect" them to make sure they are safe, but every person I knew that had a loft in Owen never had theirs inspected. One piece of advice about living in a hall style dorm is to LEAVE YOUR DOOR OPEN when you are there and talk to anyone who walks by. I met my best friends and still current roommates in Owen.

I lived in Owen and hated it. Was too loud. Always had a bunch of dumb bitches running up and down the hall sqealing and giggling, which was okay during the day when I was out, but 3 OCLOCK IN THE FUCKING MORNING!!!!!?!?!?! People blasting that goddamn rap music and bitches sqealing. Was a horrible time and I am glad to be over it. Best part was the high speed internet and a couple of friends from high school who stayed there.

Despite their inability to burn, aluminum cans are considered a fire hazard when they're on the ceiling.

are you kidding? I bet you never did anything about that either... that is why you stay in the dorms to take advantage of those opportunities to "meet and greet"

haha, if you are in a back room at sullivan, be prepared for a shock. you'll be able to cram in a very small loveseat at the most. don't bring any chairs or tables. they aren't going to fit

The best thing to do is bring just your clothes and computer with you. Then go to stores around here when you see what you have room for and what you still need.

Another suggestion, unless you absolutely love the suite style, I recommend you try a hall style before you move off campus. I made a lot of friends when I lived in Tucker, and I didn't really know anyone here when I came. It was a lot of fun, and it made my first year a lot better.

there will be a fiery crater of black death on your eggo waffle

oh also, try reheating aluminum in the microwave for an interesting display

But the first best thing to do is to listen to the frst thing I said. I sent a lot of stuff home with my parents, as did a lot of other people.

(Don't listen to anything abonorio says, he's still bitter because his fiance dumped him.)

I'm amazed at the memory of some folks on here. Which brings me to another point, AKSnoopy... if you talk about your personal life on here, be prepared to have it brought up for years to come.

if you take compromising photos of yourself, no one will find out

and no one will post them repeatedly for the rest of your life

^ That actually is true. Right of passage really. In order to be respected around here, you have to PM one person nudes. You can trust me.

Yes, I can remember when someone who can't keep a girlfriend gets on here to sell an engagement ring that was given back to him because he was dumped. I did feel sorry, but now it's really funny and I can't blame someone for not wanting a future with you. You were so sad.

^^^ No need to feel bad/sad for me. It was for the better. I just needed a way to get rid of a $5g rock.

I'm enjoying myself more now than ever. So save the pity.

if you want to know what Sullivan is like-- go here and see a 360 degree room view

I've tried making eggos in about every possible way you can imagine... I'm not the type of person who needs a whole lot to live on, clothes, my computer.. occasionally a little food, so I'm not too worried about space. I chose Sullivan for a reason, so i really dont need everyone telling me to move to Owen or wherever.
So anyways, anymore USEFUL advice?

This is a guess but..

Carry a shitload of quarters for laundry
Buy everything in bulk at Costco/Sam's Club (Ramen, Easy Mac, Pop Tarts)
Duct Tape.
Don't ever buy shit in the C-Store because it's overpriced so they can make $$ off of you
You can't fit shit in that mini reefer.

Pay EXTRA careful attention during Orientation's Sex talk...You don't want Eye Gonorrhea, too.

ETA:
Do not ever post pictures of yourself on here, they will be made fun of/cropped. See: my boobs.
Everyone here is an asshole, pretty much. Don't expect much unless you're a sarcastic asshole back. It's like a Saved By The Bell Jessie/Slater, Love/Hate family. Except more hate. But fun!.

you'll probably be staying in Lee hall at orientation. it's almost the same as Sullivan... in case you want to know the size of your room.

^ Word up. The back rooms in Lee are MUCH bigger than the Sullivan back rooms. The front rooms are fairly similar.

With that said, I didn't have any major complaints with a back room in Sullivan. I had two years of good times in those back rooms.

If you're going to build a loft, build one that can withstand rocking and bouncing. *TEEHEE*

btw, i would prefer the backrooms to the front. The front border the balconies... and it's always loud as shit. With a back room in sully, you get a good view of the traintracks, but not so much people noise.

Sully's really small, and your closet and dresser are built into the wall, so I suggest only one poster. Go buy the colorful stuff for your desk to decorate with. Also get a colorful conforter spread, they do sell good ones in extra large twin. Btw,Are you in the Univeristy Scholars program?
