^^what should he have done? well for one thing dont drink and drive

but assuming he was already in that situation, dont you think the cops are looking for people to bust u-turns when they see checkpoints? i mean shit its just admitting guilt

ok, aside from NOT drinking and driving, which is a given...

a checkpoint is looking for people who drink. yea, it was stupid to pull a U turn, but he probably had a better chance than just driving right up to the checkpoint

look, he was fucked if he just drove right up to the cops.

maybe he could have gotten away if he pulled a U turn.

am i glad he got caught? yes, fuck that guy. all im sayin is, people want to talk like he's such a fucking moron for pulling a U turn when most people would at least contemplated doing the samething

no i still call him a moron for doing that...if you want to get through a dwi checkpoint, one thing you DONT want to do is stand out and bring attention to yourself...its like when you're on the interstate and you see a sign that says "drug checkpoint in 2 miles" and the dumbasses that immediately get off at the exit ramp run into the checkpoint

Believe me - you are much better off going through the checkpoint - making a U-turn is admitting guilt.

I'm pretty sure if he had driven to the checkpoint, gave his id which says JJ Reddick, and didn't slur his speech he wouldn't have had any problems. Making a u-turn in the middle of the road says you have something to hide and shouldn't be on the road.

This made me wonder what is Bobby Hurley up to these days?

Have you ever been through a checkpoint???

Why would he be fucked if he drove up to the cops?

All you have to do is look away from the flashlight when they point it in your eyes and you've got a pretty good chance of sliding through...

the last thing you do is bust a U-Turn, period.

They give only a small fraction of drivers at checkpoints a sobriety test. All you gotta do is talk to them without sounding or smelling drunk off your ass and you sail right through. If they make you blow, pretend to blow as hard as you can without actually doing it.

If anything, I'm surprised they didn't find any pot on him. Who doesn't carry a spare dime bag in the glove compartment for emergencies?

If you have been drinking that night, then you should not drive... period. It really does not matter if you are 21+ and it was only 1 or 2. Only 1 or 2 will at least make you paranoid and cops will pick up on that, and then take you downtown for a breathalizer.

Being pulled for a road-side sober check is tough enough as it is.

Wow. Busting a U turn at any checkpoint is like being WR and leaving your WR monogrammed # on the glove at the scene of the crime. They set these things up where it's hard to turn around without being noticed (gasp)!!! Unless your girl's water broke, or your trying to pay off a ransom within a time frame there's no reason to bust a u turn at a check point unless your drunk, or think you are, or are worried about if you're borderline. I also think it's .1 in Ohio, and maybe a few other states as well, so if he had been in Ohio, he likley would have been let go. Or if he had just gone up to the cop and handed him his ID, and the cop says, "Damn you're JJ Redick"

lemme help you there

https://sports.yahoo.com/j-j-redick-said-woman-box-cage-back-car-service-ride-week-new-york-city-001953936.html

Quote :
"Here’s Redick’s description of what happened next, from The J.J. Redick Podcast:

The car is facing, going directionally, like sort of perpendicular to us.

“Sir, I think there’s a person in your back seat.”

So he lifts the blanket up, but like toward the window so that the blanket is facing up so we wouldn’t see, because we were on the sidewalk perpendicular to the car, not behind the car.

He’s like, “No, there’s nothing in here. There’s nothing in here.”

He closes the blanket back, and then he closes the trunk. And as he’s walking around to the front seat, a head popped up.

No, this is not funny. There’s a back of a females head. She’s blonde hair, there’s a pony tail, and based on the size of the box or cage that this person is in, it’s like either a very small human or a child.

We all saw it. So he drives off.

Kylee now, at this point, it’s like, “Are you sure? Was that a dog? Was that a dog with like a very fury tail?”

And she’s like, “No. The reason I said there was a person is because I saw movement in my peripheral — out of my right eye. So I turned around and the blanket was moving. So when I looked back, like half of a human face came out of the blanket. I saw a woman’s eyes, woman’s face, woman’s blonde hair.”"

wow wtf
