8/15/2006 12:04:42 PM
oh i know what i am gonna do to it, i just havent had time to do it yet.
8/15/2006 1:07:53 PM
I deleted my Y shape resonator and replaced it with a 3.5" pipe. Sounds great and I could instantly notice an increase in the speed in which the car is able to rev up. If you want to see or hear it just pm me.
8/15/2006 7:06:52 PM
yeah there is definitely a restriction somewhere, the engine wants to rev faster and it has to be the exhaust holding it back. yeah i would like to hear yours, what year is it?the restriction definitely isnt in the intake. the cold air setup i have is slightly better than the stock design, and more prone to sucking water up into the works.
8/15/2006 8:40:01 PM
I have a 1997 and I also have a custom intake using a 3.5" inch intake tube run just like the dinan set up for the 540. I also have the dinan software for it and m5 sways. I will be back in raleigh thursday if you want to check it out. It definitly revs better and sounds awesome.I have been considering removing the last resonator located next to the muffler but have not done so. I'm afraid that much loss in back pressure could hinder the cars performance. Not too sure as I do not know enough about the engine or how that would effect it.[Edited on August 15, 2006 at 10:09 PM. Reason : yeah]
8/15/2006 10:08:23 PM
did the dinan software make much difference? or did you buy it like that? yeah we should meet up like friday night or something, ahmet wants to see my car again i know. and i wouldnt mind checking out 1in10^9s new m3. there is a gas station on capital where they allow loitering if you buy something. the street bikes hang out there a lot.
8/15/2006 10:17:45 PM
I have a e34 540, can I join?
8/15/2006 10:28:44 PM
Software came with the car. I can meet on friday I just have to check when I work next. e34 540s are definitly welcome.

Get used to that tire wear - I burned through a set of Kumhos on the rear in about 10 months/15k miles - same inside edge pattern - might be worth asking for a bit less camber in the rear than the factory recommends.
9/10/2006 3:35:10 PM
^^ dealership list is $4.41^ but it handles pretty damn well though like it is! its kinda fun with the tires like they are now, i actually get to push it to the edge in big corners and shit.
9/10/2006 9:36:02 PM
Those wheels are 1 of the most hideous pieces BMW has put out. At least get some M Parallels.
9/10/2006 11:26:34 PM
9/10/2006 11:28:53 PM
Thats good to know. I have to differ with you on the wheels though, when every other e39 I see has different wheels on it, I RARELY see one with wheels like mine. Now I really like the style 5's and the style 42's... but this is what I got and they look pretty good on a silver e39.[Edited on September 10, 2006 at 11:38 PM. Reason : Or so I think. ]
9/10/2006 11:38:02 PM
I'll give you that.........you rarely see them. Just IMO they are McNasty.
9/11/2006 9:50:41 PM
9/14/2006 6:01:18 PM
the tires on my car have been on for over a year and have more then half tread left. and i dont exactly drive easy.
9/14/2006 8:44:30 PM
^^ yeah - same ones - 25k - not as bad as I thought they'd take itI'll keep the e39 hating down a bit now that my old car is back on tww - heh It is an incredibly fun car- just not what I was looking for at the time. Granted, what I'm looking for changes about once a year.
9/14/2006 9:38:46 PM
Let me just add that I will sell mine at any time for the right price.
9/14/2006 9:49:19 PM

9/14/2006 11:40:42 PM
hold on let me put my caring face on.
9/15/2006 1:32:37 AM
$12k.
9/15/2006 8:45:23 AM
I can handle it no problem, but some things are always for sale, and some arent. This is for sale. If noone ever offers me a good price then I dont care if it sells or not.
9/15/2006 10:06:19 AM
Since I seem to have garnered some interest... FOR SALE, 14k firm, so keep the lowball shit to yourself.
9/28/2006 10:38:15 PM
i forgot i posted that. woke up this morning, 13k feels like a good serious asking price.
10/23/2006 7:31:09 PM
