lol, good work. I actually use to work for the town of Cary in parks main. Every worker has a particular route they run checking on all the different parks. They should be able to find out exactly who it is. Also if you have side shot of the truck it should have a big 4 digit number on the side which is also assigned to a certain person. Let us know the person's name.

Jon Grahm ... haha, just playin' dawg But seriously, I probably won't be allowed to disclose the real name.[Edited on June 19, 2006 at 12:46 PM. Reason : not allowed?]

why the fuck not? You've got pretty solid proof that he slashed your tires.

I'de let the police release it in their reports, it will be a matter of public record after they finish their investigation. -- Dave

My parents are still waiting on the restitution money from the guy who broke into our house in 1987. He's sitting in central prison today, so somehow I think it's unlikely that he'll get it.

Breaking NewsSuspect Arrested. On a 16,000 bond right now.He pleaded guilty. Detective said the case will go to court and he'll be judged accordingly, but it's a no brainer. Evidence is complete and he's not denying that he did it. Court will probably do the restitution thing. Hopefully I'll get my money back for my tires, but it won't be for a while. Detective also mentioned something about a compensation (i.e. Crime Stopper award of some sort).Sorry guys, I forgot to ask for suspect name and a motive. Detective will return my camera and video tape tomorrow so I'll ask him about it. Will also post pics/vid as I am able to.I've already recieved a phone call from the local newspaper... greeaaaat Cue theme song from that one police show (I forgot):Dum-de-dum-dum!Dum-de-dum-dum-dooooooooooooo[Edited on June 19, 2006 at 5:15 PM. Yep, that's the guy... kind of looked like a white male from far away + baseball cap + low morning light, but I definately would have recognized him in a line-up. Well, hopefully he'll learn his lesson. And yes, the detective did mention a Crime Stopper reward... but not sure how much until tomorrow.Biggest thing I want to know now is his MOTIVE.[Edited on June 19, 2006 at 6:31 PM. That is awesome man. Things like that also have a way of working out outside the justice system. There was a guy who jumped up on my roof and dented it pretty badly. Not only did he get community service but about a year later I saw him working as a car valet parker at Bahama Breeze.

Not so breaking newsThe MotiveThe suspect, John Le, had his tires slashed and windows broken once at a park in Cary. He was bitter and hurt by it. So, as retribution for it he went around slashing others tires. Too bad he forgot about the fact that it hurts others when you vandalize their property too.He must have been thinking "an eye for a lot of other eyes". I don't follow the "eye for an eye" philosophy, but if you're going to follow it, please follow it correctly.Interesting how people think sometimes...[Edited on June 21, 2006 at 2:19 PM. more crapI'm already in today's Cary Newspaper...I'm going to be on Channel 11 News tonight ...Man, those news guys are hard to get off your back. They have my address, my phone number, even my date of birth! I really didn't want all this publicity... I didn't even submit any info, they just went to the police and got the info... the police have the right to give away my contact info???
6/21/2006 4:13:53 PM
Your contact info is probably on the police report which is public record.
6/21/2006 4:22:18 PM
the more publicity - the larger the crimestoppers award is likely to be
6/21/2006 4:24:12 PM
Aren't you supposed to call Crimestoppers to report the crime and not the PD though?
6/21/2006 4:30:40 PM
I have no clue ... I just want money back for my tires. If that's all I get, I'll be happy.

Update:Town of Cary is reimbursing everyone for their tires and will wait for court to give them the restitutoin. But, only for the slashed ones? I kind of agree and kind of DON'T agree. My car only got two tires slashed. But, my wife's car (the bait car) got THREE tires slashed. I replaced all four tires since the tires were fairly worn anyways (about 27,000 miles). Now, Town of Cary is telling me they aren't going to reimburse me for that last tire. They say, "there are some who have had only one tire slashed and they only replaced one tire."I say, "that's fine and dandy, that was their risk". But, my risk is having 3 brand new tires and 1 worn tire. What happens when that tire wears bald before the others and the road is wet? Fish-tail/Crash/Accident?It's like a cause & effect situation.Cause: A Town of Cary employee slashed 3 tiresEffect #1: I get three new tires and keep one old tire and take the risk dangerous wet conditoins.Effect #2: I get four new tires and don't worry about the old tire because it's probably just a small risk and the three tires will probably suffice.Either way, I still didn't have money for new tires. I still had to charge it on my credit card. It's not like I just have $700 in my budget to pay for stuff like this randomly. So even if they don't reimburse me for the fourth tire, honestly, I should be asking them for the credit card interest charges too.Hypothetical situation:You are out of town. A burglar break through your window. A neighbor sees this and calls the police. He is caught. But, it thunderstorms that night. And your carpet gets wet. It takes you a few days to get back into town. By then, your carpet is molded and ruined in the room that the window was broken.Question: Does the burglar get charged for just your window being broken? Or for your damaged carpet too?Answer: According to the Town of Cary's logic, the burglar would only get charged for the broken window.Just wondering. Let me know what you guys think.

just be glad you got something.a friend of mine was hit in a parking lot by a guy driving a town of cary truck (bent his tie rod like 45 degrees, messed up a fender...) and TOC basically told him to go fuck himself.[Edited on July 13, 2006 at 3:17 PM. Reason : clarity]

Good work, Xam. Make sure you get all your news videos up on youtube so I can show you off I hope the reward will cover that final tire plus a bit more for a job well done. Reading your account of that morning reminded me of an episode of Croc Hunter bwhaha
