David Byrne is my hero :wistful:
6/4/2006 9:09:17 PM
Don't get your hopes up, he gives lousy handjobs.
6/4/2006 9:09:47 PM
Same as it ever was.
6/4/2006 9:12:23 PM
Do you guys think he's ever done drugs
6/4/2006 9:25:08 PM
Do you guys ever think he's not done drugs
6/4/2006 9:38:20 PM
I think he's Mormon.
6/4/2006 9:39:09 PM
I think I'm addicted to this thing. I need to stop... but I know I've seen more movies than this....
6/4/2006 11:10:17 PM
Yeah, it makes me feel like a loser because I haven't seen any damn movies. When, in actuality, I'm a loser because I've seen so many movies.
6/4/2006 11:55:57 PM
the ratio of emo-ness in this thread is absurd
6/5/2006 12:07:42 AM
EMO =/= Talking Heads, various movies
6/5/2006 12:25:11 AM
bumpIf they made this for books, I'd be on it like white on rice. Rating things on Amazon is cluttered and requires more detailed reviewing.Anyone know how to program a site like that? We could totally call it Liticker. [Edited on June 5, 2006 at 2:49 PM. Reason : .]
6/5/2006 2:32:13 PM
That sounds dirty.
6/5/2006 4:14:04 PM
I know. Whatever, you're just jealous of my brilliant idea of copying someone else's good idea. Also, we disagree on the following:The Last EmperorPunch-Drunk LoveDeath to SmoochyMean GirlsI, RobotBig DaddyAnd what the fuck? I'm like the only person on the site who's seen Earth.[Edited on June 5, 2006 at 4:51 PM. Reason : .]
6/5/2006 4:32:10 PM
Did you ever see Water? And I'm more disturbed by your rating of Me and You and Everyone We Know. Consider my e-heart BROKENThere, THAT'S emo for ya!
6/5/2006 6:09:37 PM
Okay, look, I saw that movie in not-so-good surroundings. (ie: I brought a bunch of people because I thought it would be super awesome and then they laughed at me for being a pretentious art fag and found the symbolism to be too much- which I sorta did, too). Anyway, I'd probably have to watch it again by myself minus all the laughing to take it more seriously. In some places I thought it was trying too hard to be quirky. And I haven't seen Water yet, but I'll report on it before the end of the week, I swear.[Edited on June 5, 2006 at 6:31 PM. Reason : .]

For what it's worth, I can guarantee you that Miranda July does not in any way have to try to be quirky. Me and You is the most conventional thing she's ever done. Also, it has one of the top lines of all time. When Christine asks Richard how he burned his hand, he says, "I tried to save my life and it didn't work."
6/5/2006 6:44:02 PM
after compulsively rating 400 movies today at work, it is still suggesting i see Akeelah and the Bee.doubt i should actually see it, although i did see Spellbound..
6/5/2006 8:26:08 PM
6/5/2006 9:34:22 PM
I need to see Earth, I guess.NETFLIX, HO!

Did I mention that Water had a hijra? 'Cause it did.
6/6/2006 7:40:46 PM
A hijra?
6/6/2006 8:10:48 PM

6/6/2006 8:11:36 PM
Ah, right. You can hire them out for weddings and stuff, right? That's kind of...I don't know what that is kind of.
6/6/2006 8:14:19 PM
Well the one in Water plays basically a pimp. They have a lot of odd jobs in Indian culture.
6/6/2006 8:21:13 PM
I've rated almost 500 films now.I have a problem.
6/6/2006 10:37:08 PM
Hahaha, that's more than I have now. I think I have 400 something rated.
6/6/2006 11:14:09 PM
bttthttp://criticker.com/?kAmusing- now we can all be German comrades, and get better recommendations this way. Snappy.I added ActionPants and spookyjon for kicks.[Edited on June 23, 2006 at 5:41 PM. Reason : .]

It totally hates me.Oh dear god, I nearly snorted Dr. Pepper out of my nose when I read ActionPants's blurb about March of the Penguins:
6/25/2006 12:22:23 AM
bttt so I'll remember to use it.
10/25/2006 12:42:26 PM
I use it every time I watch something. The best part is that they've now ordered their entire movie list by your PSIs:http://criticker.com/?af& psiwithout the space in the middle, of course... the "&psi" keeps fucking things up.[Edited on October 25, 2006 at 2:18 PM. Reason : .]

I apparently really need to see Aguirre: The Wrath of God.
10/25/2006 3:01:08 PM
It's second on my Netflix queue, so I'll have it soon.
10/25/2006 10:34:58 PM
omfpsychic
10/25/2006 10:35:29 PM
Well it's on the top part of my PSI list, too.My #1 recommendation is "Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans." More Germans, it seems. My list also tells me to rent more Kurosawa, Buñuel and Bergman movies.
10/25/2006 10:56:03 PM
That's number one on mine as well, but I decided to give precedence, you know, to the talkie.
