seems more gay to actually care if someone thinks your ride is gay.

6/4/2006 2:42:44 AM
6/4/2006 3:18:13 PM

6/6/2006 4:05:53 PM
Jeez guys. The new M5 is a gorgeous car.Why is everyone getting so defensive?
6/6/2006 4:42:41 PM
sure, it is a gorgeous car (non-M5 5-series = ), and it is a great stock performer, but these two statements are false:i guarantee that car could smoke anything out there with the right driverFastest car I've ever seen on the road.you can say they are his opinions, but those are not opinions, rather, objective statements, and as such, are false. that's all.
6/6/2006 6:17:24 PM
I can take the fuckerwell, in a week or two
6/7/2006 12:12:39 AM

6/7/2006 1:26:20 AM
ok maybe it was an overstatement, im sorry i hurt the i-know-everything-about-cars people's feelingsallow me to rephrase...it's the "fastest i've ever seen a car go" on the road.
6/7/2006 2:39:51 AM
You can't prove:Fastest car I've ever seen on the road.Is false.[Edited on June 7, 2006 at 9:34 AM. Reason : I'm talking to OEPII]

120 mph on glenwood. god damn you're fucking stupid.
6/7/2006 11:32:35 AM
It was stupid but at this point I was past any traffic so the road was clear and there was on M5 clearing the way. I was just trying to catch up.
6/7/2006 1:21:19 PM
^^^was his m5 silver?^^that stretch past briar creek is perfect for going 100+ for a few seconds because it's wide open and you can see pretty far down the road, it's not like he was just cruising at 120 on his way to bojangles or something[Edited on June 7, 2006 at 1:23 PM. Reason : /]

6/7/2006 1:27:27 PM
Last Gen M5's were 6spds.
6/7/2006 1:41:16 PM
^didn't he say E60, and isn't E60 the new one?I'm aware that the previous generation was 6sp. However I'm not very in the know with model designations of the M models.
6/7/2006 1:49:46 PM
i believe that the new M5's can come in a 7 speed manual. while at the light he was definately pushing in the clutch and rocking the car if you know what i mean. i don't know what you really call that but it's when you push in the clutch and roll back and then move forward again and then roll back...etc.
6/7/2006 1:55:01 PM
dude it didn't choke out but it was lurching like someone who can't drive a stick would drive....like driving at around 25 in 1st gear and stabbing at the pedal.i know its an smg with paddle shift and a million settings i'm just telling you i saw a retard almost choke one out.
6/7/2006 2:15:50 PM
in europe the m5 is available on with an SMG tranny. i'm pretty sure a traditional manual is available here.
6/7/2006 2:34:47 PM
i thought so too but i "built my own" on their website and never saw the optionand i couldn't find it anywhere else either but i thought i saw a magazine drive one...
6/7/2006 2:42:39 PM
6/7/2006 2:45:57 PM
^^ me too, i'm also damn sure it was a 6 spd. 7 speed sequential or 6 spd manual.
6/7/2006 2:53:38 PM
The new M5's feature a SMG transmission. The NA market was going to get a 6spd manual (maybe 7?) due to customer feedback but I don't know if they ever did.
6/7/2006 3:08:10 PM
the reason they have the 7 speed smg is because the gears are arrainged based on strength of the gear box, not a logical pattern, so there is no way you could manually shift without fucking it up
6/7/2006 3:11:20 PM
^^^^ need i say more?http://www.getrag.de/454
6/7/2006 3:39:09 PM
^ Yes you do.I'm sure I could try the same thing with photos from your gallery, but then I wouldn't know why they were in there to begin with. Add another to the idiot list.

Driving an E60 M5 is interesting. It has an automatic mode, but when you put it in Drive and let off the brake, it doesn't coast forward and it will actually start rolling backwards like a manual car except you don't have a clutch to modulate it with. You kind of have to let off the brake and jam on the gas at the same time, which is probably why the M5 you saw lurched. I guess you could also pull Schumacer style with one foot on the brake and one foot on the gas, but it wasn't my car and that takes a lot of practice and habit breaking. The manual will be available for 2007.
