OVERWHELMING INTEREST
7/4/2006 4:39:03 PM
you fuck heads
7/5/2006 8:15:26 AM
actually half the time you can just reset it, and it will not come back.
7/5/2006 11:52:52 AM
lol
7/5/2006 7:33:45 PM
i just bought the BMW Peake R5/FCX tool for CEL/oil/inspection lights.need it? $25 to scan and reset.i actually dont need SRS crap. [Edited on July 5, 2006 at 11:28 PM. Reason : adsf]
7/5/2006 11:28:05 PM
^all that can be done on a obd1 car for free without a tool!
7/6/2006 1:36:16 AM
who says im talking about obd1 car?
7/6/2006 7:20:26 AM
^you know what to do if you need an SRS light turned off.
7/6/2006 7:58:05 AM
actually you can do what the inspection resetter does on an obdii car w/ a piece of wire turn ignition on, jumper two wires on the diag port for a couple seconds and voila.in short, YOU BOUGHT THE WRONG TOOL!
7/6/2006 9:01:47 AM
^^bought an obd2 m3 last week.^bought it for cel[Edited on July 6, 2006 at 10:29 AM. Reason : f]
7/6/2006 10:28:41 AM
autozone can clear your CEL
7/6/2006 11:03:02 AM
autozone does not clear cels
7/6/2006 11:56:50 AM
yes they do, i had them do it last week after i threw some vacuum and misfire codes while seafoaming.
7/6/2006 1:12:36 PM
they told me specifically they do not clear CELs on at least 3 different occasions with 2 different cars. they will however scan it and tell you what the code is
7/6/2006 1:34:18 PM
err i meant Advance Auto. the one on Western near Cook Out
7/6/2006 2:00:47 PM
ill give them a try
7/6/2006 4:06:08 PM
just so you guys know i've got a 10mm wrench. $25 to use it as many times as you need. you'll need it at least twice, once to remove a bolt for the component you're trying to change & once to reinstall it.
7/6/2006 5:22:35 PM
haha
7/6/2006 6:35:44 PM
autozone, advanced, they all will clear codes.
7/6/2006 7:37:35 PM
^^^howd you get into college w/ those analogy skills?
7/6/2006 8:54:32 PM
well we can't all go to jew u like yourself [Edited on July 6, 2006 at 8:58 PM. Reason : *]
7/6/2006 8:58:05 PM
i'm not being a jew. unlike a 10mm wrench, this appears to be a pretty rare tool that is in high demand. its also expensive. so i dont think its unreasonable for people to help pay for some of the cost to use it. heck $20-25 sounds a lot better than $70 to me. not to mention the convience of not having to go to Durham at least once.
7/6/2006 9:14:34 PM
pretty rare? its free at any parts store!
7/6/2006 9:40:50 PM
they dont fucking clear the codes in autozone. maybe in fucking charlotte.
7/6/2006 11:12:24 PM
^^SRS light != CEL
7/6/2006 11:34:59 PM
they do in raleigh and in cary, ive done it pllenty of times in both.maybe they just hate you?
7/7/2006 3:05:11 AM
wtf i thought optmusprimer quit posting or something[Edited on July 7, 2006 at 3:51 AM. Reason : hadnt seen his name in a while]
7/7/2006 3:51:07 AM
nah im here baby
7/7/2006 8:25:25 PM
got mine reset today at Shade Tree Garage for $20. they also did a fuuuuuulllllllllll code scan and i have all sorts of nifty problems to sort through.the good news is that so far (7-8 starts), the light is staying off. woot.
7/20/2006 11:56:46 PM
ive been battling 4 different cel codes lately
7/21/2006 12:00:28 AM
what codes?
7/21/2006 12:02:54 AM
FE- EVAP large leak detectedF6 *Secondary air system flow too low cyl #4-6D6 Vehicle speed signal not presentcant remember 4th one. thought the FE is something stupid like gas cap. on F6 i dont know if it is something with vacuum. i have no leaks after MAF or near/around throttle body. shine some light if you know
7/21/2006 12:17:16 AM
better check that diff to make sure teh bolts arnt backing out? MPH gauge isnt working I assume? The F6 prob will be fixed with replacement of the air pump.
7/21/2006 12:51:14 AM
hmm ill check . mph gauge is working fine ...thats the irony od D6. cant figure out what else can that code mean? also the CEL goes away from time to time.
7/21/2006 12:59:06 AM
the FE code most of the time has to do with a rubber peice on the evap canister, alot of people have it present but it generally won't throw a CEL by itself.
7/21/2006 7:43:10 AM
not sure. i got the famous cold morning rough idle/hiccups until it warms up for about 1-2 min. ill try to swap a different MAF i have sitting around for F6 code at least.[Edited on July 21, 2006 at 8:49 AM. Reason : .]
7/21/2006 8:48:16 AM
air pump- $278 from pelican parts
7/21/2006 9:19:24 AM
you can get a simulator for like $200. and then rip all that crap out
7/21/2006 10:10:37 AM
ha, for kicks i called up European Performance cuz theyre close to me to see whatd itd cost to scan my codes.$80! LMAO, bitches.
8/11/2006 5:49:05 PM
wait, whats funny?
8/11/2006 6:04:43 PM
^i think it's funny because he got it done at shade tree for $20.
8/11/2006 6:36:03 PM
honestly i would have done it for free, and got him the free oil change deal if he was smart enough to pick up on it. then he wants to be a cheap bastard and shit and he blew his shot. i could care less either way. my posts on here shouldnt be taken as advertisement, but me actually trying to help people out.
8/11/2006 6:43:06 PM
no shadetree is free for diagnostics and code scanning, too.$20 to reset the SRS light
8/11/2006 7:31:22 PM
