Duke Kentucky as well...it's like my first sports memory. I remember it because I remember everything that lead up to us actually watching the game, and then the win and how our whole family errupted in the den after Laettner made that shot.and the acc tournament in 2001/2002 season...we were playing duke in the final. we dominated the first half only to get dominated in the second and it was all over...i cried at the end of that game. and my brother, puts his arm around me and says to my parents, "welp...she's a state fan."

Darvin Ham, Texas Tech Basketball player, broke the backboard against Carolina in the NCAA tournament wayyyy back. All the players had to go into the locker rooms and take showers because the glass got into their skin and blah blah...

LSU vs Oklahomo in the Sugar BowlI remember going to the State Palace Theatre, which is like 2 miles away from the Superdome, and seeing the team bus off while walking there. We walk in the place, packed to capacity (over 3000), and 98% of the people there were LSU fans. We were so fucking loud in there, you'd think that they heard us in the Superdome... I was surrounded by some of LSU's craziest fans, and a couple Chokelahoma fans made the mistake of traversing back by us into the place. We gave em hell the whole night... right as the game ended, there was a huge exodus down Canal St. onto Bourbon. The game was won, but the party had just started.I hate knowing that I won't be able to party like that - regardless of who is in the Sugar Bowl - ever again...

1996 Olympics. Women's soccer semifinal between the U.S. and China. It set the world record for most women at a sporting event - until 2 days later, when the record was broken by the final. Game was tied 1-1 going into overtime, and the US team brought in Shannon McMillian, who scored the winning goal 8 minutes later. 70,000 people were on their feet cheering "USA! USA!" It sent chills down my spine, having so many people going crazy for their country.

Being in Orlando for the '94 World Cup has to be the most memorable sports moment I was actually at.On TV? Probably Rocket Ismael running back the phantom touchdown late in the '91 Orange Bowl, just because its the first sporting event I remember watching and being emotionally invested in. The 1993 "Game of the Century" is up there too (FSU vs. ND, #1 vs. #2).[Edited on May 27, 2006 at 7:57 PM. Reason : .]
