I find it pretty humorous how everyone brings up all the "good movies" of 1998 or whatever, considering that probably not even half of them were even released in the "summer" to begin with. There are always plenty of potential blockbusters every year. Usually 4 or 5 are guaranteed to be hyped from Super Bowl Sunday to the time of their release. They may not be good movies, but that's not how I define a blockbuster. If it got you to get out and see it within the first couple of weeks, along with everyone else, it's a blockbuster. It's why I'm seeing MI:3 this weekend. It's why I'll see X3 at the midnight showing. Not to mention, it would be hard to beat last year's summer blockbusters. Star Wars, Batman, Wedding Crashers towards the end. And I know I'm forgetting some other good ones.

this summer has awesome blockbuster potential.just today Craig Lindsay, writer for N&O wrote a huge article in the What's Up section about how lame the summer's movies are looking. This guy really pisses me off sometimes. His reviews suck, and no one ever agrees with him. To make it worse he's rarely on time to any screenings that he reviews movies for anytime. Good thing the first 15 minutes of a movie are hardly ever important.....ahh no!That guy is a total D Bag.Just this month alone we have:Mission Impossible 3PoseidonDa Vinci CodeX Menthats just the first month

^ out of those, Superman will be the biggest, easilyyou can't doubt Lady in the Water too much, cuz anything by M. Night is going to get people out...WTC and Idlewild will do decent for themselves, nothing spectacular

you had deep impact as #1 on your blockbusters from '98 list, I'm just showing that either your definition of "blockbuster" is whack or click was a blockbuster...[Edited on July 7, 2006 at 4:27 PM. Reason : fdh]
