^^His salary at ESPN is $600,000 a year (which is way too much in my opinion). Our guaranteed salary would be well below that.

As I said before, what bothers me about the media is the way that NCSU is portrayed. As far as Lavin is concerned, I dont know many people who wanted him to be our coach and I doubt Lee Fowler did either. I fully believe that Lavin put his name out there just to get attention. According to Lavin himself: "This was the first job I had applied for and actively pursued since I went to ESPN," Lavin said "That's why I was considering a return to coaching" he continues..."I took a deliberate approach, I won't lie to you" Then he withdrew his own name from consideration. Why the hell would he do that? Apply for a job and then withdraw your application. Has anyone here ever done that? What could be the reason?..."It came down to the ESPN people have made it very attractive for me to continue to grow in my current job"...Oh! So he used us for a raise. Bravo Steve, very original. Of course he would never admit to weaseling himself into a raise, so he tells reporters:"I have a great situation at ESPN, and I feel a lot of loyalty to them" Oh, I see. LOYALTY. Let me get this straight...Lavin comes off smelling like roses, touting his own loyalty, and with a fat raise to boot. NCSU gets to look like the ugly girl nobody wants to take to the prom, even though HE CONTACTED US and any interest we might have had was all rumors and bullshit anyway since Lee Fowler showed no official interest in Lavin Then, (and this takes the cake) Lavin's own employer ESPN prints the following headline:"Lavin will stay in broadcasting; turns down NC State"http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2422640Beautiful, just beautiful. I guess they are trying to remind everyone that he used to be a coach, and make us look stupid at the same time. This is why I am pissed.Referance:http://www.journalnow.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WSJ%2FMGArticle%2FWSJ_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1137835621917
