Glad they are writing plenty of tickets for such important offenses. Not like the court system is overcrowded or anything.

hah, they give you a ticket for this but a cop won't give a guy a ticket who is vibrating my windows. That's bullshit.

The best cop night ever was halloween before last in greenville. I stepped on the sidewalk with a beer and was swarmed on like I just robbed a bank (got a ticket). A few hours later a brawl breaks out in the middle of the street and the cops broke it up and sent the guys in opposite directions. (no ticket)

Hey KeB where does your girlfriend bartend?
4/18/2006 5:04:23 PM
I dont have subwoofers in my car, i have an aftermarket deck, aftermarket 6.5's. I do however drive an acura integra which probably didnt help my cause. I didnt ask him about the law or the gauge until after he issued me the ticket and i wasnt even really a smartass about it, I was polite through the whole deal.

tell them that you will go get donuts for them
4/19/2006 9:33:24 AM
only if someone is secretly recording. then after they beat your ass you will have evidence against them.
4/19/2006 9:36:07 AM
so if they do this, will they give tickets to people who have their ipods too loud? It's kinda sad when you can hear their music and you're at opposite ends of the bus.

so i have court tomorrow for this ticket.i plan on asking the DA when i show him my new license to get the driving without a valid license ticket dropped if he could drop the noise ticket as well. If he says no I am going to plead not guilty. Anyone have any experience pleading not guilty for a ticket, like what is going to happen after that. From what i understand if the DA just drops the tickets i wont have to pay court costs ( or that is what i remember when i got an expired inspection ticket dropped one time) but if i plead not guilty or the judge throws it out, will i still have to pay court costs?I am not trying to be a dick or an asshole, i am just really trying to avoid paying the $110 for court costs, i have bills to pay.
5/8/2006 4:35:31 PM
not guilty = no court costs
5/8/2006 4:36:44 PM
If they want to proceed with it they will continue it to a date when the officer is present. (not in disposition court where it probably is tomorrow)

Fuck I guess this means I can't turn my radio on while I have the 'vert top down, because you can hear it pretty easily with the top down from a couple cars away and I have nothing but an XM headunit and aftermarket speakers to replace the crap that came in it, but there is no way to tell them apart as they are in the stock mounts.

i don't think any car stereo is as loud/annoying as when a big motorcycle goes flying by.... is there a law for that volume???
5/8/2006 7:49:36 PM
Not guilty, he who does not feel meis not real to me, therefore he doesn't existSo poof -- vamoose, son of a bitch!...that's the anthem, get'cha damn hands up
5/8/2006 7:55:13 PM
Loud music is unsafe, you can't hear approaching firetrucks, cop cars, ambulances, or horns.
5/8/2006 8:19:18 PM
Plead not guilty. They will most likely say don't do it again, and let you go.
5/8/2006 8:27:34 PM
Don't argue with the officer. Take it to court and bring up these points before the Judge.
5/8/2006 8:40:27 PM
You should have asked him what kind of music he heard, because classical does not sound good cranked up!
5/8/2006 8:50:14 PM
motorcycles do have a noise limit for exhaust, but loud pipes save lives, so any officer with half a brain or that has ever ridden a bike lets it go.
5/9/2006 9:24:38 AM
he was being a dick, B. i've had that happen to me twice from raleigh officers. mostly they just warned me and I turned the volume higher to return the devil's fire . . . but yeah he was being a dickbag.
5/9/2006 9:36:40 AM
What time of day did this occur. Is this part of the nuisance ordinanace?
5/11/2006 10:17:13 AM
so i went to court and talked to the DA, the first guy i asked if he could just go ahead and drop the noise charge when they dropped my license charge. He says i'll be right back, i'll see what i can do. comes back with some chick she said we cant do anything for you about the noise charge. I said ok well then i am going to pleade not guilty then. She said thats fine but then the state had no reason to drop the expired license charge if i was going to dispute another charge. so basically i was screwed either way. if i got found not guilty of the noise charge i still would have had to pay a fine and court costs for the license ticket.either way north carolina was going to get their damn money. i'm glad raleigh is so worried about the real crime that goes on around here.^it was at 2:30 in the afternoon so it was not part of any nuisance ordinances
