the countless threads about the spray chalk in chit chat & the lounge only gave more name recognition to a guy who had at one point in the race been an underdog. (also senate/elections committee screwing up and giving them a week extra to campaign) but none of it matters now the elections are basically over.

if you thought ppl were unhappy with cody's chalk, then it seems like ppl are even less pleased with langley.http://www.technicianonline.com/media/storage/paper848/news/2006/04/05/CampusForum/Langley.Playing.Dirty-1782642.shtml?norewrite200604051254&sourcedomain=www.technicianonline.com

I still see you're mother f'ing name all over campus.Go clean that shit up!!!
5/6/2006 1:39:26 AM
^ I second this. Clean it up. There's at least three remaining, readable ads on the sidewalks of Dan Allen. According to JSWFB on 4/4/2006:

complain to osc?
5/6/2006 9:10:51 AM
there's one on Cates across from Carmichael going towards Witherspoon
5/6/2006 10:13:27 AM
I think spray chalking should be disallowed in future elections. It was a terrible idea. We've had several monsoons, and hundreds of students walking over it every day, and it's still readable.

i thought the university already had made it illegal...i seem to remember americana going through this a couple years ago
5/6/2006 10:39:12 AM
yeah theres some in the brickyard... theres some on dan allen....it was prolly paint
5/6/2006 10:55:03 AM
funny this thread got resurrected when it did, I actually saw Williams out around 2:00am-ish cleaning up some of these...
5/6/2006 2:53:11 PM
Excellent. I wasn't on campus at 2 am to see it, but I'm glad it's being done. Per the previous thread, I figured the delay was due to dealing with dead week and final exams. Now that things have slowed down for some of the student population, it's good to know the Cody Williams campaign is removing the remaining spray-chalk. (It's never too early to start campaigning for next year, by showing your willingness to clean up the campus.) [Edited on May 6, 2006 at 4:50 PM. Reason : seems like the lighting may not be all that good at 2am, but thanks just the same.]

It's still behind Nelson, too. I'm sick of seeing his name three or four times between getting off the bus and getting to my first class!!
5/6/2006 9:16:56 PM
I don't care what it is, it is still there Erine, you fag.
5/6/2006 9:24:43 PM
^^ quit looking at the ground
5/6/2006 10:44:03 PM
I don't stare at it, but I have to glance down a lot because I tend to trip.
5/7/2006 2:14:13 AM
he obviously didn't clean all his paint up...the writing on the north side of the reynolds tunnel has gone through multiple rainstorms and is still clear as day
5/7/2006 5:15:33 PM
[bitch fest]
5/7/2006 6:00:27 PM
Maybe it's all part of his plan to get a jumpstart on next year's campaign.
5/7/2006 8:34:11 PM
A lot of his campaign involved revitalization of Hillsborough… enough so that other candidates started talking about it too. Maybe for next year there will be more student interest in the area & looking into the discount stuff that a few of the candidates talked about. It’s supposed to rain a lot more tonight, maybe that’ll finally wash it away. The chalk might be annoying, but he made a good third party candidate through getting his ideas talked about, and then endorsing the 2nd place candidate (after the first round of elections) who with the new votes won in the runoffs. At the very least the chalk will be long gone before classes start up again in the fall… I’m more annoyed by the missed deadline to open the free expression tunnel which ended up being closed until after classes. Do people really dislike this guy more than Quick?According to this thread it seems like the business side of things might be picking up a little too.http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=406781

To be brutally honest, no one cares. The campaign is over. Issues don't matter anymore. We know you supported Cody, but that doesn't change how annoying this "chalking" was / is.

Student Body President Electionsor as I call it "get me into Law School" resume builder
5/7/2006 9:12:50 PM
I'd just like to say PWNT to all the idiots that thought it was chalk and flamed the thread-maker! Because obviously, we've had a hell of a rain since then and the shit is still there. PWNT.
5/7/2006 9:53:27 PM
i dont think they ever saw it in person because ive used spray chalk and if they ever had they would be able to tell right away it was paint heh.btw still there after about 5 rains
5/7/2006 10:07:56 PM
Yeah, you can definitely tell a difference in the two.
5/7/2006 10:16:12 PM
So you all know I have already cleaned up about half of the spray chalk on campus and will be getting the rest that I can find this week. It was spray chalk, but obviously the label lied because it said it would come off in 15-30 days on its own. If you think you are upset about seeing it, just imagine me having to go pressure wash each one of them off cause the company lied on the label. Already had to dish out $50 to rent a pressure washer once and now I will be doing it again. Let me know if you want to help since you all seem to want it off so bad.-Cody
5/8/2006 3:54:19 PM
in all seriousness I have a pressure washer you could use.
5/8/2006 4:00:01 PM
^^You are doing the right thing. I know you got duped, but it's still an eyesore, regardless of whose name it is. It should not be allowed in the future.
