I understand that there have been and will be others that probably got held back in school and were older freshmen. But my problem is that he is heralded by almost every media outlet as being soooo great. But he's had a little head start compared to the 17-18 year old freshmen. You can admit that he's gotten way too much publicity (including his own WEBSITE).

Just admit that he's been sucked up to way too much and I'll move on. I want to hear Stingray admit it. You're a rational being, and I know you can do it.

see my problem is that an extra year wouldn't help him experience-wise in the acc. you might argue he's more physically developed, but he's only 235. what did simmons weigh when he came in? i mean his birthday is in november, so he's only about 6 months older than the average freshman. i'll admit the whole "greatest frosh in the history of the acc" is too much, but i can't downplay his success because of 6 months

Well, whatever you want to say he will be 21 next season, his sophomore season... most students in their sophomore year are 19. The guy was held back twice, which to me implicates that he is two years older than the average freshman. I understand it isn't a big deal, and I hate to belabor the point, but my hatred for the UNC knows no bounds and I will argue any point to the detriment of the heels. Sorry.
