I thought Dervil was always #35...?

How good is ASU suppose to be this year??I know they won the nationall championship last year in their division...but who all did they lose from that team??I'm worried about this game. I've got a few friends that went to ASU that will give me holy-fucking hell if we lose this game.
3/22/2006 12:29:00 AM
As I said before....If we cant put up 50 on their D, who lost two really good defensive ends (well comparatively), and was still not very good last year.........we suck.

ah, a new season, and a new hope. help me _insert player name here_ you're our only hope.

Andre Brown/Toney Baker
3/22/2006 4:01:55 PM
GRECO
3/22/2006 4:04:11 PM
will not see the field this season
3/22/2006 4:09:04 PM
Are Andre and Toney gonna rotate starts this year unless one fucks up like Toney did last year? Thats what Imo/Humes were supposed to do last year at VT. I dont care as long as they're both in the game.
3/22/2006 4:11:31 PM
ASU lost the SoCon player of the year...i forget his name but he was their black qb. he came back in the 2nd half of their championship game on a bum leg & still tore shit up
3/22/2006 4:46:33 PM
I believe both of their DE's were All Americans and graduated, so hopefully we can run it on them.
3/22/2006 5:00:40 PM
greco is in my english 101 class.
3/22/2006 5:43:45 PM
oh yea, I think App would have whipped our ass if we played them this past year, sad to say.
3/22/2006 5:44:19 PM
^you're retardedThey didnt exactly blow through their conference. They had a lot of close games. I mean hell, they barely beat EKU if I remember correctly. [Edited on March 22, 2006 at 5:47 PM. Reason : ]
3/22/2006 5:46:13 PM
why are people seriously worried about App? i know it's the first game, but just our sheer talent should get us an easy win. yes they were a very good team last year in Div. I double fucking A! there's no reason why we shouldn't hang 40+ on them.
3/22/2006 5:47:04 PM
^finally some reason here.I know we might not have the team everyone wants us to have, but the tallent discrepancy between 1-A and 1-AA is HUGE (literally too....those fuckers are tiny). If we lose this game, I'll kiss every one of your asses. Its just not gonna happen. They might drop more points on us than we'd like, but we'll put up AT LEAST 50.
3/22/2006 5:49:36 PM
i know i posed this question before, but which freshmen have the best chance of making an immediate impact? we have some tall recievers coming in. i'm just glad to see that John Dunlap will be making a return. the good thing about him is that he has good size. he's not skinny like a lot of other wide receivers. i know J.C. Neal is listed as a Safety, but i wonder if he could do double duty if he wanted to. here's what our current WR corp looks like this spring:# Name1 John Dunlap2 Darrell Blackman (this is one move i'm really exicited about. he has great speed in the open field.)6 Andrew Evans13 Lamart Barrett36 Glenn Moraven84 Jamesley Jean86 Kyle Newell88 Jeron JamesHere's a list of our WR commits with their ht., wt., and 40 time:Donald Bowens 6-2 191 4.68Darrell Davis 6-4 200 4.61Carlos Everett 6-1 175 4.5 5.2Owen Spencer 6-3 165 4.49 5.1Jarvis Williams 6-4 200one thing i've noticed is that rivals and scout sometimes have differences in their statistics. like sometimes a guy will be listed at 6-5 on one and on the other he'll be listed at 6-3. weird.[Edited on March 22, 2006 at 7:32 PM. 3/22/2006 7:09:21 PM
is LaMarcus Bond not going to play WR?
3/22/2006 7:22:10 PM
He's listed as an athlete on rivals, so he probably will, but he could end up at another position. Disregard original post. He's listed at 5-8 on Rivals, and 5-10 on Scout. Scout has him listed as a WR. See this is the discrepancy I was talking about between the two sites.[Edited on March 22, 2006 at 7:31 PM. Reason : ]

The best thing about putting Blackman at receiver is that when he catches the screen, or runs the reverse, he can actually juke someone.....unlike Tramain in his last 2 years.
3/22/2006 10:17:16 PM
3/22/2006 10:23:05 PM
I also have a feeling that every one of our freshman receivers from this years class is going to redshirt, plus a few of them will end up on defense before its all said and done. Everett was aparently recruited as a DB, but he actually had some pretty damn good receiving numbers as well. I'd be surprised if any of them saw the field this year. Nate Irving might see some PT if we're weak at LB, but he probably needs some weight, and same for Augustine. Also, is there any news on Baldwin? That would help, maybe this year and in the future if we landed him.
3/22/2006 10:35:37 PM
^^Levin is a Corner, JC is a Safety.I think we won't see a single true freshman on the field this year. (I hope not, at least.) Both because the recruiting class was a little weak, and because we have enough depth at every position that we don't need any of them. Maybe Augustin (especially if Brooks doesn't make it), but our DL coach has stated that he really really wants to redshirt every one of his players. I think the other coaches wanted to see Willie Young on the field last year, but Mr DL kept him out.

did they just come up with the idea for the Dail Plaza? What are your thoughts on this? I think it'll be pretty sweet with the 8 columns with Wolfpack greats leading into the stadium from the RBC Center side.http://community.webshots.com/photo/516151117/2382520510082214430DqAUXt[Edited on March 23, 2006 at 6:26 PM. ^ I got a thing in the mail from the Wolfpack club a while back that featured it so it's not an entirely new idea. It is a very good idea though...
3/23/2006 6:27:50 PM
The idea of having a plaza of some sort connecting the RBC to CF came with the NEZ project. Perhaps the details of it are fairly new, but the general idea is very old.Looks kinda cool, but what happens when we retire a 9th jersey? It would certainly help the aesthetics of the stadium, though. Now all we need is a little something to de-uglify the east side, and the stadium will be rockin'.And while I like sports as much as the next guy (well, a bit less, actually), there is such a thing as drooling a bit too much over some football player from 50 years ago, IMO.
3/23/2006 6:39:44 PM
those early "gimmies" will be good for a lot of our younger players
3/23/2006 7:08:03 PM
this really doesn't pertain to Wolfpack football, but it's a pretty good read from a BC fan about the difference between the Southern football experience and the Northern football experience, and the tradtion BC lacks when compared to it's ACC counterparts.http://www.bcheights.com/media/paper144/news/2005/09/26/Sports/Column.TraditionRich.School.Breeds.Southern.Hospitality-998203.shtml?norewrite200603231913&sourcedomain=www.bcheights.com

yeah i long for the days of no tailgating restrictions and the ability to tailgate all day long.
3/23/2006 7:37:23 PM
I personally have never had the opportunity to tailgate all day, and I fucking want that opportunity, and I want everyone else to have that luxury as well. My freshman year I couldnt find rides to the game much more than 3 hours before hand, and my sophmore year I missed ONLY the Richmond game for that opportunity. I agree that 4 hours is plenty of time to tailgate, but come on, traffic is such a bitch now getting to the games also, so you need to remove the time restrictions. /crying I'M READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3/23/2006 7:42:17 PM
ah yes football season. the sight of guys peeing in the bushes beside Trinity, sorority girls puking an hour or more before kickoff, one person "sleeping it off" on the concrete below the bench seating during the first half, and some drunk guy falling all over the place in the stands on a thursday night game, knowing that he has an assignment due tomorrow that he has yet to begin working on. i've actually seen all of these things happen. well i'm not sure if the guy that was falling all over the place had any work to do, but i'm almost 100% sure he was gonna miss class the next day.

does anyone think that VaTech might actually drop out of the top 25?here's how their season sets up:9/2 Northeastern - W9/9 @UNC - W/L potential trap game9/16 Duke - W9/23 Cincinnati - W9/30 GT - W/L toss up <----for some reason both VT's and GT's website says that this game is in Blacksburg, but the game was played there last year. shouldn't it be in Atlanta this year. 10/12 @BC - W/L toss up10/21 Southern Miss - W10/26 Clemson - W/L toss up11/4 @Miami - L could be a W, but i think it has a greater probability of being a L11/11 Kent State - W11/18 @WFU - W11/25 UVA - Wthat's 5 potential losses. they're losing a lot of key players. King, Humes, Imoh, Vick, Tapp, Jimmy Williams, etc.
