About the only game we've changed our gameplan for drastically was Duke. Personally, I think it worked wonders. We took it right at She-Will... and we made him our bitch. We just couldn't handle JJ.



I think we should do the same with Hansborough. Crash the lane with 2-3 players.... if you pass the ball off in the lane, Hansborough will have to lean and swat for the ball to be effective. The difference is that they don't have a JJ Redick to offset Hansborough

We only changed our gameplan because Duke was so ridiculously overplaying the perimeter. I can't see Roy doing the same. If they don't there is no way we are going to have the same success inside. It was basically 3 on 1 downlow every time we got the ball inside. Shelden was the ONLY one not overplaying the perimeter..

Just my opinion though..

Make Hansbrough actually play on the defensive end. Make him pick up fouls. He'd probably have to take a swing at one of our players in order for the refs to actually call the foul, but at least we'd be proving a point. Phantom Hansbrough is getting rediculous in the amount of shit he gets away with.

^^You are correct. K tried to take away the 3. I just get the feeling that Roy will be more worried about our guard play than our inside play considering Hansborough is a much better defender than his other guys.

If they guard the perimeter pretty tightly.... take it inside.

I have 10 bucks on state having a big lead and losing it again, Tarheels wont go away and unlike the other teams state has faced, carolina will be able to suck all the air out of the building on their comeback... i think simmons is everything - his defense will obviously be critical on hansbrough and noel, but more importantly he gives us that interior option on the offensive end for when they start to extend the pressure D and the threes stop falling for awhile - needs desperately to stay out foul trouble

i wanna see him get that killer instinct back that he had against shelden and duke, carolina will be overplaying the perimeter just like duke was

Herb needs to find an efficient way to break the press for easy buckets. They saw what FSU did to cause easy turnovers (eventho we shot 60% to beat their ass) and they have the athleticism to put on a good press. I think it would be a bad move if Roy doesn't press and we can win if they don't.

^^^With the officials Carolina wants, I can see this happening as well. Touch fouls on one end, and then Hansbrough mugs Simmons on the other with no-call. Simmons has to keep cool, or he'll get frustrated and start getting really bad fouls called on him.

Hansbrough gets every call he wants, from a shuffle no-call to a defender holding position touch foul. Rediculous. Maybe we should take the refs hostage for this game and put three State alums out there....
