^^ Okay, maybe I'm aiming high with FFVII estimates. But it would probably triple Dragon Quest VIII sales, and that's the best game Square has put out since FFX, IMO.

Nah, I like the whole miltuplayer game thing...and I liked WoW.. it had a lot of staying power. My biggest problems with WoW: 1 - It's not fun anymore. I got 2 characters to 60, and a couple others past 40. I don't have the time to raid. I don't enjoy grinding and the quests leave a lot to be desired... which brings me to... 2 - The quests are all the same (kill x of mob y, gather x of item y that has a 5% drop rate off mob z, etc).3 - The environment got stale. After seeing the same cookie-cutter buildings everywhere, the same cookie-cutter cave layouts, the same mob skins recycled over and over again.... I just felt cheated. 4 - The community isn't that great anymore either. Used to be hella fun, now its stale. I liked WoW, I just feel like I'm playing a game that coulda been done better. It's worn itself out. It's one of the best I've played in a while tho.

FFX sucked. The PS1 iterations of Final Fantasy were better than anything on PS2.Well, so far.... [Edited on February 8, 2006 at 6:24 PM. Reason : we'll see about XII]

I fired up Command & Conquer Red Alert last night. Windows 95 Compatibility Mode makes it run nice. I forgot how addicting this game was.

video games got too popular

thats the sum of those paragraphs. harder to program + expected more variety/controls + more casual gamers = shorter, more action intense, but less replayable/in-depth games.

haven't been into much into buying comp games since i was a freshman... but as far as video games go Resident Evil 4 was pretty good. stayed intense throughout, much easier to play than other RE games being that it was 3rd person zombie shooter, & with all the stuff thats unlocked when you beat it there is plenty of continuing interest in the game which creates a kind of replay-ability.

Diablo II is always good entertainment...and I will be selling my copy soon (with expansion) [/plug]I give my vote for God of War (PS2) and Shadow of the Colossus (PS2).If you played and liked Kingdom Hearts (I know I did), Kindgom Hearts 2 is coming out in mid March. Another installment of Onimusha is coming out next month too (I think)...it should be worth checking out.August needs to hurry up and get here...

Everquest - Played for 4 years from start until right near the ned of planes of power. What made Everquest better than Wow? First off I like WoW more in the fact that you can accomplish something in 1 hour where in EQ you couldn't. However Everquest had 10 times the zones to go to, there were no instances where that is good and bad, there was a huge range of events for any level of guild from simple dragons to mad raids.Everquest just had so much more in it! The downside was that to even being remotely capable in the game you had to be the equivalent of a Hardcore gamer in Wow. People who bitch about raids in WoW don't know shit. The encounters WoW has are MUCH easier in comparison. Hour long fights in EQ were common. The requirement to beat some end game mobs was absolutely unreal. The hardest fights in WoW aren't even close. Everquest had shitloads more events. Coldain Ring for example. Armies of giants come at the city and you and whoever you could get to help defended it. Hell Horses were UBER ELEET. 100,000 platinum for the fast ones. They were truly a status symbol... not some quick purchase. Everquest also has more models. Shit tons and shit tons of models and that was at planes of power. God knows what they have now. They had plenty of dungeons that weren't instances that you could revisit over and over. Sebilis, Kanok Castle(sp?)... and of course my favorite was the fact that there was content JUST for the elite people. Meaning you COULDN'T just get their on your own. Your whole guild had to bust their asses to get there. There was TRUELY a feeling of accomplishment when you go to the next phase of something. In Wow... it's nice... but it's so easy to get there if you have the gear. Gear in WoW is relatively easy to get.I'm not even bringing in the PVP aspect, though I think WoW is far superior. Everquest also has better ways of specializing... AA points etc... where you get what? 65 points for wow? The more you played the stronger you were and the better character you were. Wow However, has a bunch of things about it I liked more. Quest items typically spawn enough for everyone and doesn't have a raid limit really. You can accomplish more with less people and though there are less events they are more eye pleasing and done better. I also like the terrain better and how you can run from mobs. I also like the fact that if you leave the water fish can't follow you (hehe EQ2 reference). EQ2 ruined the game really. WoW is starting to allow more more varied looks of characters. Everquest let the elite players look elite. There was a plethora of items that dropped each had a different look. It let the elite look really elite where you might miss one in WoW. Eh... but this is stupid conjecture. Everquest had 5+ years development time compared to WoW. I was lucky enough to be in a guild that released the sleeper in Velious. It was great.

heh i barely did any major raiding in eq and i still found it to be more fun. Karnor's Castle btw.i think instancing things means less zones and more of the same shit. everyone may get a crack at mobs but i think that ruins some of the community. lil competition never hurt no one ....well maybe
