Only team USA would give up a goal by quitting on the play to pick up equipment.... unbelievable

^ Yeah, now that I saw that, I remember someone playing a puck after his helmet fell off, and he got called for that.

weight got his helmet pulled off following a faceoff, it was a dangerous or illegal equipment penalty, the euros know the rule and bait the north americans into at least once per olympics, see Brett Hull in Salt Lake

Last time Latvia beat Russia, Irbe famously said it was in the honor of his two grandfathers, who "fought Stalinism". The catch is they did it while being members of the Latvian Legion of SS, and they fought "stalinism" together with Hitler.

In the last game with Russia, the fucker got 9 pucks between the pipes. Take that to your nazi grandpas.

We killed ourselves with penalties..

Was there any game we dind't lose by 1?? It seems like we were just that one goal short every game..

p.s. - that high sticking was bullshit..

The good news is that the US will be LOADED in the future, Phil Kessel, Jack Johnson, Jonathan Toews, Erik Johnson, Jack Skille, Bobby Ryan, Ryan Suter, Zach Parise, Dustin Brown, Al Montoya, just off the top of my head, not to mention Ryan Miller will be in the mix also I think Dipietro will improve with all the experience. Alot of these guys are the ones that won the World Juniors together and I wouldn't be shocked at all to see them win the gold in 1 or 2 games from now. I just hope that the US keep Laviolette on at coach, I really do believe he is the best US coach available, better than Johnny Torts

I was more impressed with our team than I though I would be. We didnt play well, but I think it has more to do with our intensity than skill. One of my buddies was talking mad shit about the USA hockey team, but I dont think its justified. We seemed to play really well when we wanted to, but have massive brain farts/sloppy points in the games that ended up costing us.

The other teams just play with more urgency, and our guys are too relaxed. We COULD compete in this tournament, but it just doesnt mean as much to our players as it does to the other teams.

Team USa lacked people who could score. I don't think they were relaxed. They looked pretty good in the games I watched. But you gotta shoot more, and hopefully successfully.

there were some terrible individual preformances, and some great ones, the two best were Cole and Chelios, I hate Chelios so its hard to admit it. Dipietro showed promise for future games, Tkachuk was terrible, he couldn't skate with the Euros and showed no presence infront of the net, and I like him so its hard to admit it. I am afraid Mike Modano is running on empty, which is a shame for how much he has meant to US hockey.
