I wonder if he'd be offended by a gay dude talking with an effeminate tone of voicesame difference, just different direction, right? It's free speech until someone mentions God, then it's harrassment
2/1/2006 9:25:29 PM
bad argument, a gay dude can't just stop talking - that his voice.
2/1/2006 9:34:15 PM
he better stop talkingor grapehead will sue!
2/1/2006 9:39:15 PM
people are always crying about something.if you can't put up with some silly bitches for eight hours, then expect to be in low responsibility job roles for the rest of your life.
2/1/2006 9:41:38 PM
my former co-manager once drew a cross on my head with oil. that shit dripped all over my face, and i was out in the store in front of all my co-workers!
2/1/2006 10:06:53 PM
^WTF, MATE?
2/2/2006 12:10:05 AM
Bring the black book of Satan (or whatever book Satanists use) to work and read verses from it. Freedom Of Religion right?
2/2/2006 1:01:23 AM
do this
2/2/2006 1:05:03 AM
i aint tryin to sue nobody you silly fuckers.i just want my working environment not to be uncomfortable.im not eavesdropping on any conversations, this is directly to me.1. one of these chicks has bible verses all over her cube and i dont feel its appropriate2. i dont want to hear jebus this and jebus that every time a copier or something messes up3. the lack of attention to duties as previously discussed.im not trying to censor any christians, they arent trying to convert me that i can discern, i just want them to do their jobs without taking the lords name in vain avery five minutes.
2/2/2006 8:36:00 AM
I mostly agree with you but
2/2/2006 8:37:30 AM
because i cant have pics of bikini models on the walls of my office.
2/2/2006 8:45:03 AM
religion is just one of those touchy subjects and it's best left at church and/or the person's home. I don't really have a problem with it, but I don't think the office is the place for it. I wouldn't complain or be pissed, but I know that some people are very sensitive about that shit. and no, it's not appropriate to have bible verses all over your cube or office walls. whether you think so or not, that is just another way of forcing your beliefs on other people. leave that shit at home.
2/2/2006 8:50:49 AM
Just put this quote and others like it up around your office and in your email sig:
2/2/2006 8:59:51 AM
2/2/2006 9:14:08 AM
2/2/2006 9:31:02 AM
2/2/2006 9:45:25 AM
i'm not even about to read a whole lounge thread on religion, but
2/2/2006 9:58:12 AM
damn... that must suck
2/2/2006 10:19:42 AM
^^^dude, why don't you fucking read ya moron. I said that it doesn't bother ME, but why the fuck do you need to advertise your religion to everyone in your office? reading a bible at lunch is NOT the same thing as having verses plastered all over your cube for EVERYONE to see. if you can't see the difference than you're a fucking dumbass.would it be ok to plaster a whole bunch of anti-religious propaganda all over your cube? of course not because that would without a doubt offend a bunch of people. If you want to be religious, then you have every right to be that way. but I don't see why you need to advertise it and throw it in other people's faces if they're not doing it to you.[Edited on February 2, 2006 at 10:38 AM. DG makes a good point...private company, rules are different and you can't make a comparison to public agencies or organizations. That said, anyone who has issues with someone putting Bible verses on their cube walls must have some issues themselves. Did your pastor beat you as a child? Were you the priest's "special" alter boy? Those things are horrible and then maybe this would make sense. But, barring those things, why the angst with religion? How about you grow some balls and get over it, seriously...
2/2/2006 10:42:37 AM
2/2/2006 10:54:01 AM
I encountered this issue at work before. The secretary there would listen to some sort of christian talk show all day long and talk about it on the phone with her friends and stuff. It got really really annoying after a while.
2/2/2006 10:54:45 AM
^^^that's not the point. what if you're a different religion? what if you don't believe in religion at all. what if you just don't like seeing all that shit on someone's cube? I'm not saying that I personally have a problem with it, but some people do and that's their right. it's a fucking work environment. you can do whatever you want on your own time, but when you have to co-exist with a bunch of different races, religions, sexes, ect, then you should respect others wishes and not impose your beliefs on others who may not share your enthusiasm for religion. same goes for politcal affiliation.[Edited on February 2, 2006 at 10:56 AM. 2/2/2006 10:56:25 AM
yeah i mean if a jew starts working here i guess you guys support my right to ask them why they killed jesus every day?[Edited on February 2, 2006 at 10:59 AM. Reason : or harass a muslim about blowing up the WTC]
2/2/2006 10:58:17 AM
^^freedom OF religion NOT freedom FROM religionThat's what we're given as americans.
2/2/2006 11:00:15 AM
sure, you're free to practice whatever you want. I'm not saying that we all have to be the same religion. but does that mean that it's RIGHT to impose your beliefs on others? do that shit at church or in your home. the office isn't the place for it.
2/2/2006 11:01:31 AM
so if im christian and a coworker is jewish it is my freedom OF religion to ask them why they killed jesus? and not harassing or inappropriate in any way, right?
2/2/2006 11:02:46 AM
what if you're a devil worshipper? is it cool to have a bunch of satanic passages all over your cube? don't tell me somone isn't going to get offended. or what if you have "god is dead" on your cube. if you're gonna allow one thing, then you have to allow the rest.
2/2/2006 11:05:32 AM
thats my point yo, all or nothin.
2/2/2006 11:15:55 AM

I'd voter fraud for theDuke.
2/2/2006 12:07:59 PM
2/2/2006 12:08:49 PM
^be that as it may, you're still going to have people be offended by certain things dealing with religion. c'mon people, everyone knows religion and politics are very touchy subjects to certain people. if you want to pray, cool. if you want to bless your food before you eat, go right ahead. but when you go out of your way to advertise all your religious beliefs and make a point of everyone else being able to see it, then you're just asking for trouble.nobody is telling anybody to ditch their beliefs, but you know damn well that it wouldn't be cool for someone to post atheist messages on their walls. just because it's YOUR belief doesn't mean that everyone else wants to know about it.[Edited on February 2, 2006 at 12:15 PM. 2/2/2006 12:58:55 PM
^ I didnt fucking say that, learn2read
2/2/2006 1:12:19 PM
^having an nc state poster on your wall is the same as having bible verses all over your cube? please tell me you're kidding.
2/2/2006 1:19:21 PM
^why would i be kiddingI enjoy having the State poster on my wall because I like state. I went there, graduated, and enjoy our football program. It makes my cubicle feel more like home to me. I dont care if people here dont like state or root for UNC or Duke instead. They can get over it and realize its my cube.you can completely apply the same for having scripture on your wall. You'd have a point if I wans trying to go around and tell everyone how much better state was and that they should become state fans instead of whoever they root for now. But Im not.
2/2/2006 1:26:11 PM
dude, you're missing the whole point. it's not even worth arguing with you.
2/2/2006 1:26:55 PM
but he proves the point that it isnt worth arguing in general.i mean, there sees to be no tactful way to tell my coworkers not to praise jebus in my presence, based on this thread. no matter what i say or how i say it, i will lose somehow.
2/2/2006 1:30:27 PM
well, if it doesn't bother you THAT much, then no, it's not worth it. but the fact remains that many people ARE offended by that kind of stuff. I've already pointed out that I could care less what people have on their cube walls or whatever, but there are LOTS of people who get all worked up about that kind of shit. if you can't see the difference between religiouis beliefs and supporting your college, then you're missing the whole point. Religion is probably the most touchy subject there is, so to throw it all up in people's faces is just going to cause problems.
