i finally saw it...excellent movie. can't decide whether or not i liked how it ended, though.[Edited on May 30, 2006 at 10:48 AM. Reason : 2]

Without giving away too much, I can say that I would have hoped for a more open-ended final scene, but I always want that so that's okay.
5/30/2006 11:01:57 AM
the ending was a little too "lets-wrap-this-thing-up-with-a-little-bow-and-explain-how-everything-tied-in-together", but the movie was too bad ass for me to be bothered.
5/30/2006 12:10:48 PM
yeah i thought the movie was real good too. Glad to hear the dvd will be out fairly soon.
5/30/2006 3:29:39 PM
I thought this movie was easily worth my money. Probably too smart for most people. To be honest, some of the people were confused....
6/1/2006 1:20:01 AM
I think if you're trying to follow every single word you won't be able to do that.If you can allow yourself to just sit there and enjoy it, you will.
6/1/2006 9:31:35 AM
that's why i enjoyed the "let's wrap everything up" ending. because without watching it a few more times, i wouldn't have been clear on what the hell happened. i still may not be. besides, isn't that sort of ending typical for that film noir type of movie? oh, and it wasn't a total wrap... the femme fatale walks off the screen and we never really know what happens to her. maybe she gets the brain to hatch an escape plan for her, she seemed to have him pretty under her thumb.
6/1/2006 9:36:53 AM
uhmspoiler alert?oh fuck iti'm not gonna go see it
6/1/2006 9:48:46 AM
How the fuck are you gonna drive 1230945r3 miles to see Hard Candy, but on Brick you're passing?
6/1/2006 9:52:51 AM
ellen page sirellen pageand i don't get to see gramma enough
6/1/2006 10:00:10 AM
I can't argue against Shadowkat in much the same way that that guy in that movie (Robin Hood?) refused to fight against his father's blade. But Brick is really good. And you can see Claire from LOST be a junkie, at least.
6/1/2006 10:04:38 AM
claire from lost is overrated in woodfoot's bookBUT OMG mytwocents KNOWS SOMEONE WHO DOGSITS FOR HER WHEN SHES IN HAWAII!!!!
6/1/2006 10:05:43 AM
Brick was pretty damn good. But Hard Candy is still #1 in my book so far this year. Right above Thank You for Smoking
6/1/2006 11:05:10 AM
6/1/2006 1:39:00 PM
Ahahahaha Havok is so bad.Well, except for JGL spouting the gangsta shit. And, you know. Anne Hathaway.
6/1/2006 1:46:13 PM

Showtimes this week are 4:15, 7:15, and 9:35.SEE THIS MOVIE! I'm seriously, you guys, this is one of the best films we've ever played. It's fucking beautiful.
6/2/2006 7:57:35 PM
THIS IS YOUR LAST WEEK TO SEE IT! The numbers everywhere in the triangle were surprisingly low, so the distributor has decided to pull it. Last show is Thursday. Don't miss this movie.Fuck, I have to find the time to see it again.
6/5/2006 6:07:20 PM
Just a final heads-up, today is the last day. I think I'm gonna watch it again tonight. JGL is my new hero.
6/8/2006 11:52:38 AM
But you still have to see Water!
6/8/2006 11:54:01 AM
If this is the biggest dilemma I face all day, that's not all that bad, I suppose.I watched two movies on Tuesday, two movies yesterday....I might be able to pull three movies today.[Edited on June 8, 2006 at 12:22 PM. Reason : ]
6/8/2006 12:18:26 PM
just checked out the supposed "last show"....and that movie ranks in my top 5 all time.
6/8/2006 11:53:00 PM
8/8/2006 9:59:47 AM
i might buy this. and i never buy movies.
8/8/2006 7:17:51 PM
Rented it last night and loved the whole kids playing adults act. Loved seeing shaft as the AVP. I also hate "lets-wrap-this-thing-up-with-a-little-bow-and-explain-how-everything-tied-in-together" movies in general but I can get over it for this film.
10/15/2006 7:55:41 PM
has anyone else noticed that the hot girl from this movie, the one that plays piano in one scene is a character on that new heroes show now?atleast i think its her
10/15/2006 11:33:33 PM
its a little hard to follow at times but this is a film i would like to watch multiple times.
10/19/2006 3:24:45 AM
Normally I hate fawning over really good movies that I've just seen in film class...but holy shit, this flick is fantastic. I could watch it twice more today.[Edited on October 23, 2006 at 5:37 PM. Reason : llpss]
10/23/2006 5:37:33 PM
Quinn and I hated every moment of brick.
10/23/2006 5:40:22 PM
i liked it, sometimes the dialogue could be tedious to follow..you had to listen very carefully all the time.did i say i liked it?
10/23/2006 6:57:56 PM
^^^ Hahahaha.I liked it a lot, but the dialogue did get annoying at times.[Edited on October 23, 2006 at 7:04 PM. Reason : .]
10/23/2006 7:03:48 PM
It's not important to follow every word said.
10/23/2006 7:03:59 PM
There was one line, about 2/3rds of the way through, where I was convinced that JGL had stopped speaking English.Other than that, I had no trouble. I loved the camera work during the fights.
10/23/2006 7:09:13 PM
I think it'd help me to see it a second time, because I thought that happened at least 10 times. I need to stop watching movies when I'm sleepy, though, too.
10/23/2006 8:05:58 PM
There were a few places where I was just like "Jigga what?" It wasn't that big of a deal, though. You could miss half of the dialogue and there'd still be more leftover than most films of twice the length.
10/23/2006 8:38:15 PM
Still keep meaning to rent it.
10/24/2006 12:37:49 PM
10/24/2006 12:43:49 PM
Hahahahahahahaha.
10/24/2006 12:48:46 PM
10/24/2006 4:11:48 PM
I'm failing to see what the fuck that has to do with anything.
10/24/2006 4:41:29 PM
Brick was not poorly filmed. Brick was made beautifully in the noir style. The quote YOU provided, in fact, says that there is a great level of detail in the film. I don't know a single person whose opinion has any weight in my book who didn't love this movie.
10/24/2006 4:52:08 PM
A great level of detail anyone who isn't passing BTB cant even see because the dip shit film kids who shot the movie made it overboard fucking ugly on purpose.I had no idea there was an entire collective of noir style film obsessives. Enjoy your noir movies , just don't recommend them to people who actually like substance in a film (playing off some gimmick film style that died years ago for a fucking reason does not count) .At this point I am just trolling you and getting you angered. I expect at least a page on how successful the film was, how the saturation of the camera wasn't fucked up, and a list of other moves in the last few years with noir style to prove it is in fact not a dead genre.by 9pm 1" marginsBTB - black levels below reference 16[Edited on October 24, 2006 at 5:01 PM. Black levels. Wowzers. Next can we talk about 16-band equalizers like the guy in Ghost World?I saw the detail just fine even with the shitty-ass projector they have in Caldwell.Seriously, though, I'm no great lover of noir. I am, however, going to make a white telephone film.[Edited on October 24, 2006 at 5:15 PM. Reason : u]
10/24/2006 5:14:30 PM
bttt for teh twista
5/3/2007 11:45:53 AM
The first 10-15 minutes I didn't really know what to make of this movie. The dialogue was strange and the noir style set in high school threw me off. Then 3rd Rock knocks the mortal shit out of this guy and I was hooked.I've watched this at least 10 times and always pick up something new. This is how you make a great film with limited resources.
